The episode starts w/ Pradhyumna appearing b4 Banasura in a dream and asking him to take him to Shambara, so that other innocent babies don't get slaughtered. Banasura wakes up, picks up Pradhyumna and is about to do just that, but unfortunately, Bhanumati wakes up as well and angrily stops him from going ahead w/ the plan. Instead, she insists that they leave this city w/ the baby tonight. Banasura agrees & they leave.

Jambavati is happy that Banasura obeyed his wife 😕 but Krishna isn't. He appears b4 Banasura & Bhanumati and reveals to them that Pradhyumna is in fact his son, who is there for a reason. He explains how Shambara had this boon from Brahma, and the only person who could kill him was Krishna's eldest son. He asks Bhanumati to hand Pradhyumna over.

Krishna then invokes several deities - Brahma, Shiva, the rulers of the Gandharvas, Yakshas, Devas and so on. He bestows his own powers to Pradhyumna, and asks the deities to do the same, and they oblige. A lotus appears below Pradhyumna, and then encases him completely. Krishna then takes an imaginary/decoy baby (I can't think of any other way to describe it, given what happened later) and asks Banasura to take it quickly to Shambara b4 he starts massacreing anybody. Bhanumati asks him what explanation to give people given his quick growth, and Krishna tells her to say that he's the son of her late sister & the latter's hubby 😕

Shambara is about to send his troops out, when Banasura appears and tells him that this is Krishna's son, who he has come to surrender. Shambara is happy and tells him to hand it over, and Banasura does that and leaves, since he can't bear to watch him die. Shambara then tries striking the baby, but the baby dodges it and flies in the air, skillfully avoiding a few of his assaults. Jambavati, who is watching this, asks Krishna where was the need to have it do all that? Krishna tells her that if the baby just died like that, Gurubaba & Shambara would suspect that he was not really Pradhyumna. After a series of moves, the baby lands on the floor and Shambara strikes it (not shown)

The lotus in which Pradhyumna is encased opens, and in it is a pre-teen Pradhyumna, who's time travelled a few years to be instantly older. 😕

Actually, Set Raj posted the SB story of Pradhyumna here.

Pradhyumna wasn't raised by anyone's wife - he was raised by Mayavati, who was none other than Rati. After Kama had been incinerated by Rudra, Rati wanted to give up her life, but a divine voice assured her that she'd get back her husband. She somehow learned that she would find him in Shambara's kingdom, so she took a human form as one of Shambara's cooks, and when Pradhyumna was discovered in that fish, she took him and raised him, and found out from Narada later that he was actually her husband. There was never any marriage b/w them, since Pradhyumna was 'born married' 😆 But so far, Pradhyumna's divine origin as Kama has been totally ignored.

Yes I read the story but then Pradyumn also has a son named Aniruddh. As far as I know his mother is not Rati so that part left me confused and I also found it strange that first Rati treats him like a child and later as her lover, thats why I thought Rati is not bhanamati/mayavati.

In the original story - forget this serial - Rati takes a human form and appears as Mayavati, and is the one who raises Pradhyumna. Later, when Pradhyumna grows up and she's found out about his identity from Narada, she tells him the whole story, including how she's his wife.

Yeah, according to SB, Anirudha was the son of Rukmavati, and Vajra of Rochana. That is something I'd like to see from sources other than SB - I find it hard to believe that Mayavati or Usha didn't have any sons.

I just watched both yesterday's & today's episodes out of curiosity. Just to fill in what happened yesterday...

After Shambara killed the decoy baby, Jambavati was worried that Mahakal would reveal to Gurubaba that Pradhyumna was still alive. So Krishna meditated & summoned Mahakal, and told him that his role was done, and asked him to leave Shambara's place so that he thinks that he's become immortal. Mahakal agrees and leaves Shambara's place, and Shambara & his mom thank Gurubaba, and let him go.

Bhanumati & Banasura watch the grown up Pradhyumna wake up, and he greets them as his parents. Bhanumati tells him that she's his mausi, and Pradhyumna is curious about his parents. When they go home, Banasura tries to get Pradhyumna to go out for Holi celebrations w/ the other kids, but Pradhyumna declines, and the kids leave. Pradhyumna is depressed, and so Bhanumati tells him that his mother was one of the most beautiful women in the world, and his father was a hero who was magical w/ his flute. Bhanumati finally convinces him to go out for the Holi celebrations.

Once again, while out, Pradhyumna declines to play Holi w/ the other kids. Then Krishna appears in a mustachioed guise, exactly matching the description Bhanumati had given Pradhyumna, and singing a song telling Pradhyumna that the answers he wants will be available to him at the right time. Pradhyumna then goes and hugs his father, and Krishna too is overjoyed. The rest of the episode is as aishsk described.

Comments: So in the fictional gurukul (since Pradhyumna was taught by Mayavati and didn't go to Sandipan or anyone else), they put in a bunch of louts, and a loser as the guru? What can one say - the timing was surreal - the Guru seeing only Pradhyumna fighting, but totally missing the bullying that the other kids were doing. Honestly, the fat bullied kid should have walked out w/ Pradhyumna.

Rukmini's way of talking to Krishna was totally devoid of any reverence. And where exactly did Rukmini plan to look for Pradhyumna? But the other strange thing was that looking @ this, it would seem that Jambavati and Satyabhama are Krishna's main queens, and Rukmini is just a concubine. Sorry, but one would hardly think that Rukmini was Krishna's wife, the way he's so close w/ the other 2 but only there around Rukmini when she is upset.

One more thing - the guy who plays Pradhyumna is the same guy who played the young Krishna who appeared as a beggar in Sudama's house and encouraged his kids to obey their father & disobey their mother. He suits Pradhyumna's role better than that Krishna role.

I agree. I thought when Rukmini will be back she would be shown more.
SP might forgot the fact that Rukmini=Goddess Lakshmi's incarnation. They should have not shown her so depressive and "ignorant".
Actually I should not say much about Rukminis characterization as SP fails to portray Shri Krishna well.
In the scene where Shivji confronts Shri Krishna I thought maybe SP is progressing but now I think I was wrong.

yesterdays episode...
Krishna's charioteer asks him where they r going. Krishna answers him tht he also dont know. Go at any direction. Here, Pradhyumna's guruji complains abt his fighting to bhanasur and says he never take him to gurukul. Bhanasur gets shocked and tells Prdhyumna tht then also he will find gurukul for him. He came here for big aim. Bhanasur suddenly stops bcoz of his telling. Pradhyumna asks him abt is aim but everyone remains silent.
At night while all r sleepng Pradhyumna comes out and asks God to tell his truth. Here, Krishna is listening him and says he is coming to tell him his truth. Then he takes guise of his father who met him while holy celebrations and goes to shambara's city.
Next day, bhanasur goes to city to convince gurus for Pradhyumna. all landholders told to all gurus not to Pradhyumna in gurukuls bcoz he hurt them. One guru agrees first but after listening this* incident, he refuses. One man calls Bhansur to see tht Pradhyumna is fighting with shambara's soldiers.
*incident: Pradhyumna looks tht some soldiers r beating one old man. so being angry with them, he fights with them very powerfully and defeats all. bhanasur comes there and tells Pradhyumna what he is doing. if shambara saw tht then.. he sees tht shambara is coming. Shambara watches all incident and asks who is tht boy? bhanasur tells him he is his wife's sister's son and apologizes to him. Shambara tells him to come at court with Pradhyumna. Krishna is also present there watching all this.

Todays episode..
In court, shambara asks pradhyumna, u r very good fighter. From where did u learn it? Pradhyumna very confidently answers tht after his parents' death he lives here. The skill of fighting r present at him from birth and when he sees wrong things he cant stop himself from fighting. Then shambara asks him will he teach his skills to mayasur, his son who is very timid and cant even take sword? Pradhyumna agrees. Krishna meets pradhyumna in his house as one trader in city. He praises abt pradhyumna's skills to bhanasur and says tht I can see signs of great warrior in pradhyumna. He has learnt all the skills of war from some great mentors in the world. So he wants to teach some vidya to pradhyumna. Can he teach? Bhanumati happily agrees and tells him to stay with them. Krishna first refuses bt finally agrees.

This episode was surreal - Pradhyumna doesn't have any technique or such but is just fighting instinctively, and he agrees to teach the son? I also thought that the CVs depicting his wife and son both as losers was lame, as usual. Also, Krishna, in his new guise, doesn't attempt to explain to the original guru that Pradhyumna did what he did to protect one of the kids, and that the guru himself was a failure for overlooking the loutish behavior of the other students?

In reality, Pradhyumna was raised and taught by Mayavati, who was Rati taking a human form to be w/ him. She taught him, trained him, revealed the secret of his birth. Not Krishna.

I don't know why SP gives Shri Krishna many disguises. Pradyumn was protected by Mayawati so Shri Krishna trusted her. I also think that SP are giving an unfair deal to Rukminis character. She is left in the dark and is sad most of time, while she is also divine.
