Anyone with fairer skin despite having plain features usually gets classified as beautiful by ppl. And if the woman happens to wear stylish western clothes...well, ppl go ga ga lol. (This is a general comment...with no one particular in mind). Radz's complexion may not be pure white lol...but that in no way diminishes her beauty. And those who define beauty in terms of one's ability to carry western outfits should chk out Monica's Jugaad videos on YTube. They wld surely find her gorgeous ;). Fact of the matter is, her looks, voice, figure, the graceful way she carries herself, general goodness that she emanates as a human being off screen, her various multifaceted talents - all combine to give her a magnetic personality. The reason why she has charmed her way into people's hearts, across age groups and genders. Not surprised that she was approached for the main lead role in a prestigious project of a big PH just based on the strength of her Jugaad YTube series, with no acting experience or training at all.

If one has to nitpick, let's look at Aham...if u just look at his face, he is not handsome in the traditional sense of the way. It's his grt height, styling, voice, hair style and overall personality combined that leads to him being called handsome. Why adopt a diff standard for girls/women. Unfortunately, it's mostly us women who do that. Irony is, when the world starts calling dusky complexioned women beautiful, the naysayers quickly join the bandwagon lol. Example - Kajol, Rani Mukherjee, Rekha and many dusky yet beautiful women we have in the entertainment world.

@espirit - Great analysis of last night episode. Very comprehensive and exhaustive indeed. Completely concur.

However, I didn't agree with one of your comment's the other day where u said that Arjun had fallen for Radz despite her being pretty average in everything. Frankly, I found that to be pretty superficial, condescending and offensive. Refrained from commenting then but since I cldnt resist responding to the above comment by hrishikesh, covering that as well here today, if u don't mind. Curious, what constitutes 'everything' in yr view? Attempting a deconstruction here. I have already talked abt looks and personality above and hence won't repeat it. Rest of 'everything' In Radhika's context I presume wld constitute, say her-

Job Skills - Well , despite being a fresh junior trainee, she was the one coming up with the tag lines and ideas for client pitches, even winning BS its biggest contract, in the process saving the company and livelihoods of several ppl there. Not to mention the tag line she gave for the advt being shot in Hrishikesh coz of which the company's rep got saved. Given this, one wld consider her to be not only outstanding at her job but also better than the established experienced folks working at BS lol.

Intellect - The show has depicted her to be a highly intelligent, intuitive and perceptive girl. No way she cld be considered of lesser intellect than Arjun in any way. In fact, she out matched him in Sam's case and succeeded in protecting her form his & his sister's nefarious plans. Not only that, she went one step further and recognised and exposed Nandni's true face which even Arjun cldnt for so many years. Her innocence in worldly matters can't be attributed to lack of intellect. That's coz of her lacking that kind of exposure. Given that she's portrayed as a 21 yr old young girl it's quite understandable and not really a gap that she cldnt bridge with experience. Moreover, so what if she doesn't know diff types of drinks/alcohols or lacks expr in physical intimacy etc. Many wld infact find her innocence in these matters quite endearing imo.

Dancing - Guess, we all agree, she is fantastic. Very graceful and skilled and elegant. If anything, the show 'portrays' Arjun to be non dancer. ( talking abt Arjun not Aham, mind you)

Clothes - Well, even when she was given simple kurties to wear and had no make up on, she managed to look fresh, charming and attractive and carried every kind of outfit be it Indian or western with aplomb.

From nature, values, other personality traits perspective, she cld be considered to be the best amongst all in the show along with Neil.

If one looks at everything combined, Radhika not just matches Arjun on all fronts but in fact has better credentials than him in case of some - like family background, ethics, compassion for others, selflessness etc etc.

Which is why I really cldnt get on what basis you thought it was justified to say that Arjun had fallen for someone who was avg at everything...implying of course lesser than him. Based on the above, if anyone can be considered to be falling short it's Arjun, not Radhika.

Edit: Just remembered, missed out on difference in money/financial status. Well, I think that gets offset by the diff in their family backgrounds, given how our society values a pedigreed background more than money. Moreover, Radhika herself is now an independent working woman, having proven her worth to her organisation time and again, showing the promise of a bright career growth in future, hence it shldnt matter much

Sorry... If it seems like a rant but just cldnt help it. Generally irritated at the double standards one commonly sees in how women get judged, many a times by women themselves. I just don't think we should use diff benchmarks for assessing men & women or ppl attired in westernised and Indian outfits or ppl with white/dusky complexions and be quick to pass judgements based on such superficialities alone.

Well got to agree with a lot of what ur saying...to the extent that I've been guilty of the same thing...we kind of tend to look at fair skin as somewhat superior...n I live in a country where ppl r predominantly white( read: Caucasian ).. Growing up here ..I definitely felt a lil bit of pride that I was white enough ..as if that made me any less Infian...those were younger days mind u...but even when I started watching this show I watched it for Sam and Neil who I can relate to...their personality and style...but I Cldnt help myself loving Radhika more...maybe opposites attract ..n I feel she is extremely beautiful inside and out...in fact I have hardly posted anything about Sam..coz I relate to her more and I find that her character is eerily closer to mine in real life...but honestly my most favorite in the show is Radhika for all the reasons u listed and more...these r just my thoughts...not intende to hijack ur post..

@jasmine_anih: Sam's clarity does seem out of place given her stubborn rant of "I love Arjun only" in the face of everyone telling her to forget Arjun and move on in life. Except if you consider her preceding scene with Radhika where the latter explicitly states what love is about. Until then, everyone told her that she should move on, Neil loved her, Neil made moves on her - but, it was all rather abstract. Radhika's words gave her the meaning of love that she was searching for.

All this, of course, is on the premise that Sam has told Neil she is breaking off her friendship with him so that she can move on in love with him.

If not, well then...

I know Radhika's words would have impact... just the character is not known for a quick change of heart. It would have needed a preceding conversation. Based on today it looks like the conversation with Neil was all melodrama.

Arjun is still wearing his wedding ring.

@ euglena U misunderstood me.sorry for the confusion I caused.Actually I truly believe tat Monica is beautiful. My thoughts were abt the character she plays. She is not some super beauty in the show .she is just a girl next door.Tats y I said so.Coming to Arj in the show itself they Everytime say tat He is such a handsome hunk.Tats y piyali also once mentioned to him tat after marriage to Sam also she doesn't wish to hear him calling "mom" being him so handsome.I was not mentioning Aham and Monica .I was discussing Arj and Radz.
And one more thing I truly finds Monica more beautiful than Kashmira.
