Sam's call yesterday was a buzz kill for Radz and us lol. Called at the most inopportune time - reminded Radz of what she has to do.

Oh My GOD!!!!!! That was the BEST Episode EVER!!! Let me just take a moment, catch my breath and gather my thoughts.

Everything today was beyond perfection and exceeded all my expectations. Every little detail in acting, expressions, dialogues, direction was flawless. I had to watch again - in fact this is one episode I can watch many times without getting bored. That is how much of an impact it had on me - it was just so beautiful to watch.

I am still in that trance..

In my opinion, Arjun and Radhika stole the show today so my thoughts are to do with them only. If you are looking for Neil-Sam insights, sorry - none from me tonight!

---------------------------------------

Nandini & Radhika

I love Nandini and I'll miss her terribly. She was the best antagonist (cupid in closet) on this show. We have never given her enough acknowledgment for all she did. I actually saw a human side to her today. Underneath that entire cruel psychotic exterior was just a very lonely woman who couldn't deal with heartbreak. In a lot of ways, she reminded me of Sam!

So true, i felt for her when she said apne pyaar ko kisi aur ke saath dekhne par bahut taqleef hoti hai..

To her credit, she was very good at reading people and their emotions. Nandini might have won the revenge battle, but she lost her brother - and that is her biggest defeat. It was a bit of karmic justice - Everyone got what they deserved in a way. May I add that Shilpa played this character with the right amount of sugar and spice!

When she showed Radhika the true mirror of her feelings, our heroine just couldn't do or say anything. She knew in her heart what Nandini had mentioned was the truth. And the last words "Mere bhai ka khayal rakhna" - I just loved that line! Even Nandu knows, Arjun can only be happy with Radhika and that she is the only one capable of loving him unconditionally, selflessly - the way he deserves to be loved. What a rocking way to exit from their lives! Well done Nandu!

Absolutely, deep down as she said, uska bhagwaan jaanta hai woh Arjun se sabse pyaar karti hai.. :-)

---------------------------------------

Arjun & Radhika

There was so much emotional depth in their scenes today that I had to remind myself this is not real, and it's just a show. Kudos to Aham and Monica - they were both brilliant today! Aham in particular aced all his scenes.

Radhika, oh what a true gem you are. What a selfless, strong heroine! Sacrificing your one true love for the sake of your friendship - a big heart she has. Yet she couldn't just leave knowing how her love, Arjun, is in complete despair. So Radhika supported him ever so gently, as she would have liked to her entire life, even if it was for one night only. You know I realized something today - Radhika didn't tarnish Arjun's image to Sam or anyone else. Heck she didn't even do that to Nandini. She just revealed the truth to only one person it mattered the most. In essence she just resolved the issue, and decided to take leave. She only sees the good in people - particularly when she knows Arjun was not really at fault in this situation. And this quality of her sets Radhika apart from everyone else - a reason why our hero can't help but be completely enamored by her.

That first scene with Arjun, completely lost and broken, sitting by the window spoke volumes. If we think about it, in this game of revenge, the greatest loss was for him. His only sister, all his memories of familial love and happiness, were tainted now. Arjun was living his biggest fear today. I saw a helpless 8 year old boy with no family or friends who is just so afraid of the dark and being alone, yet that is exactly what life has given him time & again. The words he uttered with those pleading eyes, "Aaj mere andhere ko tumhari roshni ki zaroorat hai Radhika. Aaj mujhe sab chor ke chale gaye; Tum bhi mujhe chor ke chali jayo gi". He is living those moments all over again - his darkest memories that he kept at bay all haunting him in this moment. You finally understand why he thinks the worst of himself and unworthy of anything good; why he has turned his back on faith; why he doesn't think God can hear his pleas.

This was just such a telling moment, and I cried with Arjun. He has this notion of being such a horrible person that he truly believes if anything good comes his way, it can never be everlasting. Hence he uttered those words to Radhika "mujhe chhou ker apne aap ko ganda mat karo". He didn't want her touching him for support, because he doesn't want his misery to taint her life. Think back to the hospital scene when he tells her "Panauti to main hoon, jahan jata hoon, roshni cheen leta hoon." Despite Radhika telling him he isn't alone, she saw the fear in his eyes, fear of never finding any peace. And all she could do in that moment was cry for the broken Arjun she was in love with and could never be with to guide or comfort him.

So true and what a beautiful contrast to their lonavla car scene... when they meet with an accident n he tells her to back off when she sees him bleedin.. 'haath mat lagao mujhe... panauti ho tum.. '

Arjun was so completely broken that while he wanted Radhika to be his guiding light, he couldn't hold on to her for his selfish reasons. He was constantly fighting an inner battle of desperately wanting her to stay with him yet also not wanting to hold her back as she deserves everything good in life. We saw the weight of those words "yahan se door chali jao jahan mera saya bhi tum tak na pahunche", "please mujhe chor ke mat jao". And even in all this, he didn't like tears streaming down her face. Cupped her cheeks, wiped those tears ever so gently and asked the loaded question: "If these tears are for what could have been"... and her apt reply "for something that can never be". They are so in sync with each other emotionally and intellectually. And then Arjun just spoke his darkest thoughts in her words only "kisi ka pyar paane ki na to meri himmat hai aur na hi haisyat". The irony in this statement was while he meant these words for himself, Radhika took it in the sense she had said it originally, and that's why she held back - it was another thing that made her sure leaving him was the right decision.

She was also confused in figuring out the right thing to do. On one hand, Radhika just wants to hold him and make his pain go away, while on the other she respects Arjun so much that she feels she should abide him when he asks her to leave. It was such a touching scene when he grabbed her arm and begged for her to stay asking if he was not even worth her pity or mercy. Of course, it's not pity he deserves but all the happiness and love in life, as Radhika pointed out while she lovingly cupped his face. I loved this moment, where her one tender touch gave him the strength ("himmat") to tell her how completely shattered he was, and to ask her if she could give him that space in her heart, if she could mend his broken self and if she could be the key to his happiness! It was his undoing. While Radhika's eyes kept saying yes, she had to the right thing, and thus replied "mujhe jaana hoga Sir". Notice how he didn't let go of her hand completely, and when she gets up, out of desperation Arjun just hugs her so wholly like a lost child holding on to her for his dear life. And in that moment Radhika's patience breaks and she gives in to her love as Arjun repetitively tells her he needs her and to not let him go, at least not tonight.

For me this was the best part, where she took care of him like a true lover, and a true wife. She gave in to all those feelings inside her wanting to be Arjun's wife in every sense just for his support. The way Radhika cupped his cheeks kissing him on the forehead, taking his hand in hers, and guiding him to the room - no words spoken, none required in that moment. Such a powerful gesture - it showed pure love and affection. She was his pillar of strength and he followed her with unconditional trust. Seriously, I love this couple to bits - they can easily reverse their roles based on each other's needs as they did today. They are so in sync with each other.

Both were dealing with their own ironies... both didnt want to let go.. both helpless... both selfless...both so in love with each other...

I loved the way Arjun laid his head on her chest, completely surrendering himself to Radhika in her embrace. And she remained the cherish-er softly putting him to sleep, gently caressing his hair, just as he has done in the past. That is how they slept - on one side of the bed, in each other's embrace, arms intertwined, and heads aligned in the heart position. There was no wall of cushions anymore - no need for one - they were husband and wife in the truest sense. It felt so real. Epic Romance!

I loved loved this scene... had to remind myself they were acting throughout their scenes... so natural.. gave me goosebumps..

A moment of significance for me was when Radhika didn't let Nandini touch her mangalsutr or sindoor. In fact as she was ready to leave his life, she still had that on her. For her, signing the divorce papers mean setting Arjun free, but in no way is she setting herself free. This marriage is sacred to her and she has accepted him to be the only one for her; even if that means not being with him in this life. Sigh...

:-(

The pre-caps were just as awesome as this episode. I loved how Arjun's eyes were involuntarily looking for Radhika, and hands searching the bed to make sure she was there. Tomorrow, reality will come crashing on to him as she leaves him a note along with the signed divorce papers. I loved the panic in his voice as he screamed her name throughout the house looking for her. He looked taken aback when he saw it was Sam at the door.

I hope Arjun doesn't give Sam the time or chance to say / do anything. He should just leave her standing at the door without hearing anything she has to say - because to me, he has too much to lose and cannot afford to put further distance between him and Radhika.

In a way I am glad Radhika left him, because technically Arjun has never asked her to stay for the real reason, which is that he loves her and can't live without her. He only asked her because he needed her. And there is a difference - when he told her he needed her, he was that young boy afraid of being alone so she stayed with him until darkness ceased. Now Arjun, the man, has to make Radhika stay by confessing his real feelings for her.

Alright, until tomorrow! Good Night 😊

The other day I had written how I loved what Radhika said about true love to Sam n felt if we had the time, those would have made more impact. I was proved wrong, their two scenes yesterday summed up everything...

The way she smiled at him moment she woke up, the way she cried along seein him heartbroken, the way she held his hand and led him to the room, the way she looked at him when he said 'kya tum mujhe apne dil mein samet sakti ho' n her eyes sayin thatz exactly what i want .. wow... it was jus pure bliss...

I love them... as characters, as actors..

First the epi gave me goosebumps with its intensity...

Then your written flash back doubled the fun.

Thankyou for such a superb analysis.

U penned my heartfelt thoughts... u wrote so well that I rewatched the epi again.

For me the best part was the gentle way in which her fingers caressed his carelessly flung forearm over her, and how she gently ran her fingers through his hair a blink later, ever so lightly... a Gossamer touch, so as not to wake him from his sleep...

Simply heaven...it was.

Me, I am still reeling from the aftershocks.

How yummy and intense can these two get anyhow?

It should be a sin to be this hot...

@26hrishikesh - Radhika/Monica is far from ordinary looking. On the contrary, she is a typical Indian beauty with glorious features and a lovely face structure. She has beautiful eyes and lips, has a fantastic figure, and a melodious voice to boot which is so lovely to hear. It's unfortunate that in India we define beauty in terms of complexion. Anyone with fairer skin despite having plain features usually gets classified as beautiful by ppl. And if the woman happens to wear stylish western clothes...well, ppl go ga ga lol. (This is a general comment...with no one particular in mind). Radz's complexion may not be pure white lol...but that in no way diminishes her beauty. And those who define beauty in terms of one's ability to carry western outfits should chk out Monica's Jugaad videos on YTube. They wld surely find her gorgeous ;). Fact of the matter is, her looks, voice, figure, the graceful way she carries herself, general goodness that she emanates as a human being off screen, her various multifaceted talents - all combine to give her a magnetic personality. The reason why she has charmed her way into people's hearts, across age groups and genders. Not surprised that she was approached for the main lead role in a prestigious project of a big PH just based on the strength of her Jugaad YTube series, with no acting experience or training at all.

If one has to nitpick, let's look at Aham...if u just look at his face, he is not handsome in the traditional sense of the way. It's his grt height, styling, voice, hair style and overall personality combined that leads to him being called handsome. Why adopt a diff standard for girls/women. Unfortunately, it's mostly us women who do that. Irony is, when the world starts calling dusky complexioned women beautiful, the naysayers quickly join the bandwagon lol. Example - Kajol, Rani Mukherjee, Rekha and many dusky yet beautiful women we have in the entertainment world.

@espirit - Great analysis of last night episode. Very comprehensive and exhaustive indeed. Completely concur.

However, I didn't agree with one of your comment's the other day where u said that Arjun had fallen for Radz despite her being pretty average in everything. Frankly, I found that to be pretty superficial, condescending and offensive. Refrained from commenting then but since I cldnt resist responding to the above comment by hrishikesh, covering that as well here today, if u don't mind. Curious, what constitutes 'everything' in yr view? Attempting a deconstruction here. I have already talked abt looks and personality above and hence won't repeat it. Rest of 'everything' In Radhika's context I presume wld constitute, say her-

Job Skills - Well , despite being a fresh junior trainee, she was the one coming up with the tag lines and ideas for client pitches, even winning BS its biggest contract, in the process saving the company and livelihoods of several ppl there. Not to mention the tag line she gave for the advt being shot in Hrishikesh coz of which the company's rep got saved. Given this, one wld consider her to be not only outstanding at her job but also better than the established experienced folks working at BS lol.

Intellect - The show has depicted her to be a highly intelligent, intuitive and perceptive girl. No way she cld be considered of lesser intellect than Arjun in any way. In fact, she out matched him in Sam's case and succeeded in protecting her form his & his sister's nefarious plans. Not only that, she went one step further and recognised and exposed Nandni's true face which even Arjun cldnt for so many years. Her innocence in worldly matters can't be attributed to lack of intellect. That's coz of her lacking that kind of exposure. Given that she's portrayed as a 21 yr old young girl it's quite understandable and not really a gap that she cldnt bridge with experience. Moreover, so what if she doesn't know diff types of drinks/alcohols or lacks expr in physical intimacy etc. Many wld infact find her innocence in these matters quite endearing imo.

Dancing - Guess, we all agree, she is fantastic. Very graceful and skilled and elegant. If anything, the show 'portrays' Arjun to be non dancer. ( talking abt Arjun not Aham, mind you)

Clothes - Well, even when she was given simple kurties to wear and had no make up on, she managed to look fresh, charming and attractive and carried every kind of outfit be it Indian or western with aplomb.

From nature, values, other personality traits perspective, she cld be considered to be the best amongst all in the show along with Neil.

If one looks at everything combined, Radhika not just matches Arjun on all fronts but in fact has better credentials than him in case of some - like family background, ethics, compassion for others, selflessness etc etc.

Which is why I really cldnt get on what basis you thought it was justified to say that Arjun had fallen for someone who was avg at everything...implying of course lesser than him. Based on the above, if anyone can be considered to be falling short it's Arjun, not Radhika.

Edit: Just remembered, missed out on difference in money/financial status. Well, I think that gets offset by the diff in their family backgrounds, given how our society values a pedigreed background more than money. Moreover, Radhika herself is now an independent working woman, having proven her worth to her organisation time and again, showing the promise of a bright career growth in future, hence it shldnt matter much

Sorry... If it seems like a rant but just cldnt help it. Generally irritated at the double standards one commonly sees in how women get judged, many a times by women themselves. I just don't think we should use diff benchmarks for assessing men & women or ppl attired in westernised and Indian outfits or ppl with white/dusky complexions and be quick to pass judgements based on such superficialities alone.

Lovely episode and great analysis.

I loved the way the cvs highlighted the the stark difference between "Need" and "Want."

Arjun said "I need you!"

Like you right said, he's become the 8 year old boy who has lost everything once again..and this time it's worse than before because he had experienced some love, twisted as it may be, from Nadini..someone he trusted and staked his very life on.

Imagine if our parents cheated us...how do we survive?
Yesterday, what I loved was his need for Radhika was devoid of anything sexual and physical. It was heartfelt call of a boy who needed pure maternal comfort. that's my pov. I felt his need was comfort, warm embrace and a lot of TLC.

What could easily have turned into something else, considering the depth of emotion that both were experiencing.

The hug, the kiss on the forehead instead of the cheek, neck or even the mouth, the wiping of tears, the hand that led him gently to the bed room, the tender way she lay him on the bed and his sudden need to hold her lest she disappeared while he was sleeping. the way she encased him in a warm and safe embrace, the way he cuddled into her, just like a child would who is afraid of the dark...it was truly the most moving moments of the entire show.

The cvs showed so beautifully the different role a woman plays, especially for her husband.
I felt it was the turn of the mother in her yesterday.

One thing I hope the cvs won't mess up with is Arjun's redemption...he simply has to tell Sam the whole truth today...in order to save the SaRa friendship and also regain his self -respect, at least in his own eyes.

As it stands, Arjun's sorrow comes from his realization that sister used him. But the morality or lack of the plan they both executed hasn't struck him as yet...that they planned to ruin lives, most of them innocent of any crime.
He HAS to explain everything to Sam before he goes looking for Radz. He has to make a clean slate of it and receive Sam's forgiveness and understanding. Only then, to my mind, will he be good enough, clean enough, complete enough to be with RAdz.

@Eug ... I didn't mean it like that... It had to do with the character of Radhika and how she feels about herself. I think you are referring to the drunken dinner date... And my comments. Sigh... Didn't mean to offend anyone but really all I meant was for Arjun, she was the only beauty present. If you look at it from an outsiders point of view, someone like Sam, you'd be like what does he see in her - like ppl would look at them superficially not realizing what Arjun actually sees in her. Monica is very pretty IMO and this was not a diss.

Radhika (the character) is supposed to be a simply beauty - charming and elegant but I would not say out of this world beautiful. But as you watch the show, you fall in love with her completely and end up seeing what Arjun sees in her. As they say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

I hope u get my point / it's hard typing stuff out on the phone.

And don't take it so personally - because when I say something of that feel, I keep the characters, plot and setting in mind ... So it's from a story point of view , not necessarily how I feel about society values etc!

That being said no matter how much we have progressed the societal stigmas do exist in various communities and families - the show does touch upon these. So we do have to consider that when describing our perspective.

I enjoyed reading the post. I loved the title... I would have loved to name it Oh the angst! 😆

I know everybody loved yesterday's episode. I am in it for the drama. I dunno. It was ok for me.

I enjoyed Nandani's exit. The character realized the irony of her own situation. It came full circle. The exit was graceful.

Sam and Neil chemistry was perfect. Sam went a little too melodramatic. Why didn't she go to Arjun first and clear things. Perhaps it was a bit out of character, for the girl who does not know her feelings.. Her clarity seemed out of place.

For Radhika and Arjun, I don't understand how Radhika missed that her relationship with Arjun is real. I mean yesterday, they were all in all a couple. They spoke that way and acted that way. They always have, but Arjun in very clear words acknowledged her place for him. The intimacy seemed a little to contrived for my taste, but it worked. There was an understanding that each other's happiness is when they are together. How do you leave that? I don't get it.
