ArDhika OS(s) (drabbles): Snapshots

This is the second drabble. I do have an alternate version where things turned out to be a bit different. I tried to mend the broken relation b/w Arjun-Nandini in that story. Lemme know whether you want me to post it or not.

Closure

Are you sure?" Asked Radhika as she gently squeezed her husband's arm. He was going to see someone today and she wanted to make sure that he's strong enough. She knew no matter how tough Arjun claims to be, he can be extremely vulnerable. Especially when it comes to someone he loves or loved.

Offering a soft smile Arjun nodded a yes.

Radhika gave him a hug which he returned and placed his head chin on her head. "I'll be fine, don't worry" he said. After they pulled away he said "you worry too much, I will be ok, I can handle it" he said and smiled.

He went inside the sickly white hallway, the long never ending rows of doors reminded him of a prison. The guard brought him near a door and motioned for him to knock. The name on the door caused his breath to be caught. This was it, he can't go back now. "Arjun!" Someone screamed from inside. A part of Arjun almost cringed. The part that hated her, his Nandini Di. Weird right? Who would have thought that little Arjun could ever hate his Nandini Di? "Arjun my baby!" She called out and ran towards the door. She extended her hands through the bars, but Arjun backed off. "Arjun, why? Come here baby, why did you back away? This is your Nandini Di? Remember? Come closer now little one, I have got something to tell you", she said. Hesitantly Arjun went closer and Nandini immediately caught his hands. Arjun tried not to shudder. He felt disgusted. "Shh, don't tell anyyyone, but I have a plan. When you get me out of here, we can hatch a plan. Samrat will suffer so much and that icky caterpillar named Radhika" she said and scrunched her nose. Arjun gritted his teeth inwardly, a part of him wanted to wipe that smile off of Nandini's face. "We can finally accomplish our mission" she continued. Then I will get my revenge". Wow it ALWAYS been about her, right? All she could talk about was her revenge. Arjun slowly took his hands out of Nandini's. Nandini stared at him, shocked. Why was he backing away? Didn't he love his Nandini Di? "Why?"she asked, her voice hoarse. "Why Arjun? Why?!!!! Did that girl blackmail you? What did she do to you? You are walking away from your Nandini Di? What did that witch do to you?" Arjun clenched his fists. He couldn't stand it when anyone talked bad about her, and now the person he loathed the most was talking garbage about the person he loved the most. Nandini was screaming now. A doctor came and asked him to leave. His visiting hours were over. He obliged. He could hear Nandini screaming, pleading for him to come back, hurt Radhika and take back his Nandini Di. None of it mattered to him now. All he cared about was Radhika and their future. He came out of the door, and immediately found Radhika rushing to him. She hugged him as tightly as she could. He returned it and sighed. She was the reason everyday was worth looking forward to for. She pulled away and asked, "are you ok?" He couldn't help but smile. "Yes, I am" he said. He let go of the truth he had lived for almost 24 years. His illusion about Nandini's love broke and today he finally let go of her memories, locked them up in a chest and threw them in the ocean. Never would he look back again now. He finally got a closure. He could move on and for that, he was grateful.
