ArDhika OS(s) (drabbles): Snapshots - Page 3

I am disappointed with the way story is progressing and I don't know whether we'll ever get to see how Radhika and Arjun spend their days after they've both confessed. So, here's my version! This was inspired by DMegha's "We're Meant to Be":

Looking back

"What movie do you want to watch?"asked Arjun as he took out the pop corn from the oven and walked inside their bedroom. "I am guessing this one?" Said Radhika as she showed him the DVD.

"Ok love" said her husband as he placed the pop corn on the table and sat down on the bed.

He patted on the side indicating the movie is about to start and Radhika should hurry up. She placed the cans of pop on the table and sat beside him and snuggled in closer.

The movie was long and by the time it ended, Radhika had fallen asleep. "Radhi" Arjun couldn't finish and he didn't want to wake her up. He smiled down at her. He caressed her face and placed kiss on her forehead. It's amazing how things change. 5 years ago, she was supposed to get married to a guy named Saral, the name still caused Arjun to grit his teeth. How dare he pushing her around, taking her for granted? How dare he trying to steal Radhika from him?

He felt her stir and looked at her. She seemed at ease. Arjun sighed, he never thought there'd be a day when he would gaze at her, or when he would vow to protect her and love her till the end of time. Looking back, it seems like roles have changed. The girl he couldn't stand became the girl he couldn't live without, and the girl he vowed to destroy became one of his most trusted friends. Samaria was a good soul. He figured out the truth about Nandini Di and Samrat, and truth to be told: it broke his heart. Guilt consumed him completely. Forgiving Nandini Di was impossible. He didn't know what to do.

His relationship with Samaria became extremely awkward. It was Radhika who fixed it.

He remembers the way Neil stood in front of Radhika, when he saw Arjun coming towards Radhika almost as if he was trying to tell Arjun to back off. Arjun could see the hatred in both Sam and Neil's eyes.

He still remembers the shock on Samaira and Neil's face when Radhika came forward to defend him or when he confessed about him and Radhika.

He also remembers how Samaira put her arms around Radhika, almost like a bear protecting her cub. He can recall how Neil came forward and told him "never dare to try anything with her," or how Sam gave him a warning glare, almost burning him with her eyes, "don't try to break her," she said, and then continued "or I will break every single bone in your body myself". That girl can be scary! He thought to himself. "The only reason I am forgiving you is because of Radhika", she finished. He would admit that they didn't meet in the most conventional ways but he was glad because at least he met her. They have been through a lot of storms and Arjun has hurt her more than he can count, but regardless of their difficult journey they made this far and he was grateful for that. Fate gave him a chance to redeem himself and there was no way he would waste it.

Arjun sighed as he placed his head on Radhika's.

All's well that ends well. It has been about 5 years since he met Radhika and a year since they got married. Placing his arm around her, he pulled her closer and closed his eyes. He felt complete.

I hope you like it. I tried my best to write a cute and short story rather than an angsty one.
