Four Pillars of Manmarziyan - a study in characters

Here we have story of 4 awesome people .. 4 dynamics in one path .. here is my 1st take on the characters .. mind it it's just the 1st and not the last .. things grow, change and get different .. this write up is about now -

Sam - For me the thing or the one really connects me with the show is Sam ..my heart goes to this girl .. She is a rare piece in the world of Hindi TV .. the much layered, flawed and real character is simply unavailable in Indian TV .. for the 1st time I could see a girl who is lovable with her flaws .. who is strong even with her vulnerabilities .. I love how she struggles with the miserable hiatus of her life and emerges like a Phoenix .. way to go girl

Neil - Mimi rightly named him "Golden boy" .. I like Neil a lot .. I am not yet a RaNeil fan .. may be it will grow in me gradually, for now I see a great friend in him .. his friendship with Sam is so pure and natural that nothing looks overdone and unreal .. his anger, frustration, jealousy, possessiveness- everything is justified in this friendship .. the way he cares about everyone around him it's evident what a gem of a person he is .. I guess the misunderstanding between Sam and Neil will help us to see more into Neil and other aspects of his character

Arjun - the ultimate Mystery man .. hot, handsome and dark .. the essential knight of darkness .. too bad to be good and probably too good to be bad .. may be under that dark aura there lies a tortured past .. may be there is a heart that can shine once the darkness is diluted .. Yes we hate to think how his revenge will break Sam but who knows possibly at the end of this journey, it will be him who will be broken from the soul

Radhika - Till now she is the weak link .. not that she lacks dynamics but she needs to grow a lot .. she arrived in Mumbai and landed on a job even without giving an interview! -lame .. A working woman knows how it's difficult to get a good job even in your own city so I wish CVs could show a bit of it to depict her aspiration and determination where they failed and failed the character as well .. rather they focused on the typical girl from small town perspective that can be bore-fest time to time .. however, after Sat's episode I am hopeful with her .. there was the 1st glimpse of how wonderfully Radz can shape up in future .. hope CVs know what to do with her

Beautifully written. Agree with all your points. Sam a strong and tough girl still vulnerable and craving for her mother's love. Arjun who wants destroy a girl but un knowingly helping her to come out of her grief. Neil a true friend, a good soul who helps everyone with out any expectations and I want him have his own story. And radhika she is innocent and want to achieve her goal, adjusting in this un known people.
Well waiting for how this character shape up in future and how they became friends and achieve their manmarziya

Same here .. with such potential characters in hands the CVs can do a lot and explore a many never shown perspectives .. I have this expectations from the CVs .. hope they weave a nice story with raw complex and emotion of the leads and don't fall in the trap of cheap drama

Wonderfully written. I agree wid all ur points. The character picturisation is perfect. U hav explained each of the characters very well..

Agree they have two male leads and two female leads so show some good story not messing up with showing some cheap triangles and rectangles.

I have no prob with triangles .. I have problem with cliched like one is turning a vamp and other is glorified all of a sudden, Dupatta flying romance, OTT emotion, over the top romance, abusive relationship, saas-bahu rona dhona .. triangles can be justified and ended at a point and the 3rd angle can move on naturally and gradually .. but everything should be in a manner

beautifully written.. u described the shades of characters really well. Th best thing about the show is the character sketch of Neil, Sam and Arjun. They have multiple layers n sides of their chars

Nice post.. Sam is my favourite character as well, i think this is the first tym where the female lead is loved more than the male lead, i can completely relate to her more coz of Kashmira's acting, she makes the character look so real, no OTT emotions.. good casting by PH, no one could hv made Sam look more believable than Kash,
I think Arjun's character is well sketched and quite strong, a lot of hardwork has been put towards this character and Aham's acting makes me love this character more..
Neil's character is also well sketched.
Its only Radhika's character that i cannot relate too, yes i agree no one gets the job the way she got, that too in a reputed company!! wish cv works on her character as well!!
