After everything Samrat has done - there is no forgiveness or redemption for such elements.
In the context of the show - it is that much more important to show that he does not receive forgiveness. By showing Urmi forgiving him and Samrat turning a new leaf so quickly - it would really be sending a wrong message to the masses. This show is high-lighting reality - of thousands of victims of domestic abuse - the message should be to empower women and give them the courage to stand up and raise a voice against evil. The show took one step in the right direction by showing Urmi filing a police complaint and getting Samrat arrested. Personally I wish they had shown that she did not take the complaint back but i am happy to see that she has FInally started answering back to both Shashi and Samrat.
Ideally even if Samrat does "change" Urmi should not accept him - I'd like to see her maintaining her distance and living life on her own terms - finding work and supporting herself and raising her son.

For me it would be easy to say that yes Samrat should be forgiven. But when I look at the harm Samrat has done to Urmi physically, mentally, and emotionally is unforgivable. Urmi was in extreme pain when Samrat hit her with his belt. The pain Urmi experienced I can't even imagine. So with all those facts, my final decision would be NO Samrat should NOT be forgiven for his evil doings.

Samrat should be forgiven after harsh punishment
if he is not forgiven , the family members specially Urmi will not be able to move on
therefore after punishment , he should feel remorse of all the bad needs he did then forgiveness should be given

No, the man's a monster. Even in his bed needing someone to take care of him he's still disgusting. He needs to suffer like how he's made each and everyone of his family members suffer. You heard what Urmi said last night, she don't care what Samrat thinks nor is she trying to please him, once a person reaches that point there's nothing that can change their mind. she is human and I hope she leaves him and starts life fresh.

With all due respect - I agree to a certain extent - that if someone has done bad and TRULY repents, understands the severity of their actions and honestly wants to change and better themselves then yes - they should be granted a chance to prove themselves.

In the case of Samrat - he is NOT repenting or sorry for what he has done. He does NOT understand the severity of his actions and truly speaking - men like Samrat who are so narrow minded, egoistic and an over all MCP who treats women like dirt - they don't really change - so the concept of giving him another chance doesn't even arise. If he starts to behave "nicely" with Urmi - its not coming from a true realization of how he's been ill treating his wife - he's doing this because he wants to prove a point and satisfy his ego - its not about Urmi it's about his EGO.

In any case the topic maker has asked if Samrat should be forgiven - first of all I don't think his actions even render a possibility for forgiveness and even if he is (this is a show after all) forgiving a person doesn't equal giving him another chance. Forgiving is more for the person who does the forgiving - for them to be able to let go and move on and if Urmi does move on - it wouldn't even matter if Samrat repents or changes - she's already past that point from what we are seeing.

To quote an old chinese proverb "if you hurt me once - that is your fault, if you hurt me twice - that's my fault"
Urmi has given Samrat enough chances, she's tried very hard to maintain peace in the home but at every step Samrat has just taken her silence as weakness and walked all over her. He does not deserve any sympathy or chances.

No way!Urmi has to be just as crazy if she forgives him. What is this showing, but a weak woman. He has abused her for 2 years which is too long. How is this acceptable? She should turn the corner and never look back. If Urmi forgives him she has no self respect nor does she love herself enough to walk for better.
