I've been meaning to mention this point ever since I caught up with the show last weekend. It's about Ishaan's belief that Samrat will change, or Urmi will Change Samrat.
He is actively making Samrat look better to Urmi and her family, he hides certain things, covers for Samrat, makes excuses, and makes Urmi believe something else about Samrat. He doesn't do any of this with an ulterior motive, and he does it from an innocent, good place. But the very idea he keeps spouting is very, very problematic.

In his talk with Trisha, he talks about how Samrat will change, he's sure. And Trisha asks what if Samrat doesn't change. Ishaan has no real answer, just his faith and belief that Sarmat will change. None of this would be a problem if he didn't cover up for Samrat many times, and he himself could confidently say Urmi knows what she's getting into; but he does, and he can't.

This is exactly the mentality with which people get their jackass, asshole sons married to some naive, innocent girl--just hoping oh he will change (though I would say Urmi isn't completely naive). As I said, Ishaan isn't doing it to that extent and it comes from an good place, but the idea that he keeps perpetuating is not ideal and is very problematic.

Of course the show will validate Ishaan's statement that "Samrat will change, Urmi will change him." So in the end, this problematic idea and Ishaan's wrong actions will be validated.

And will Samrat's mother, Rashmi, Urmi's family, will they all come to know that Trisha was indeed absolutely in the right, and Samrat was in the wrong? Considering how these shows go, even if Urmi does find out, the family will be in the dark. How is that justice or vindication to Trisha?

Actually, even if that family finds out, half of them will still blame Trisha for confronting Samrat in the first place; and the other half of them will blame Trisha for confronting Samrat but still be glad he's married Urmi due to it and the wedding has gone through.

I wonder if Urmi will be angry at her family about not letting her know about Samrat's refusal, for hiding such an important matter regarding her LIFE.

Loved and agreed with your whole post but what's in blue was exactly what I was thinking after watching yesterday's epi. Poor Trisha will never get any vindication, sure Urmi's gonna find out, and I'm sure sooner rather than later what an a**hole her hubby is but only she will ever find out. The way she's brought up she'll never share it with her family...Even if she eventually tells Trisha about it and apologizes it won't be the same unless the whole family knows why Trisha behaved the way she did.

As for Urmi asking Trisha not to come to the wedding? That's something else she can't say in front of the family as that will paint Samrat in a bad light and she can't have that now can she? So once again Trisha will be blamed about being a moody spoiled brat who doesn't want to participate in her own cousin's wedding.😭

True, if Samrat can change, then why didn't Ishaan change him until now? No, let the innocent wife do that. The shock Urmi will have when she will realize that Samrat is not the romantic hero than Ishaan made her believe he is!

It's been bothering me for the past three episodes. What bothers me here is that Trisha is being humiliated, scolded, and all are blaming her and saying anything they would like about her and due to her. Samrat is manipulating Urmi right now a bit, but what he's doing with Trisha is way worse. Even now with Urmi he's actually telling the truth to her, just hiding that he wants Trisha out of the way for his own reasons.

What he's doing to Trisha just is so sad and I had tears in my eyes when Trisha started crying yesterday. I don't know how she will ever be vindicated. Because her humiliation is so public, and where's the scope for her to be vindicated in public? Nowhere. Who knows if Urmi will even find out the truth behind Samrat-Trisha anytime soon. And whenever she does, it will not matter because she will probably keep it to herself. Where, when and how are Samrat's mother, Rashmi, the elders in Urmi's family going to apologize to Trisha and realize she was right and they were all wrong?

And also by that time, it won't matter. They will all be laughing and going...hahahaha, well it all worked out--Urmi and Samrat are married, Urmi has worked her magic on Samrat, and they are in love.🥱

I think in a way it's better when the romantic interest is the one humiliated and treated such way in shows (to an extent). Because at least then, everyone has no choice but to publicly acknowledge they were wrong and the heroine was in the right.

Word. It's bothersome. And he will be validated, but he's so wrong in what he's doing. He shouldn't be covering up for Samrat or trying to make excuses. Urmi may still agree to marry the arrogant ass (hell if not her, her family would probably still agree), but she should have the chance to know what she's getting into instead of being fed some falsities and romantic notions.

Liks your point is right on.

Ishaan constantly making excuses for Samrat has actually given Samrat permission to behave boorishly and he knows Ishaan is there to smooth the waters.

Samrat's father or mother have not been able to bring about any positive change in him till now and here again in a typical Indian Serial comes a sweet naive girl with stars in her eyes that will have the task to make an ASS into a thoroughbred !!

Liks I think the family sort of suspects something is amiss but in their need to get their daughter married they all are being blind and deaf to their niggling doubts.

And Ishaan is not helping by constantly covering for him.

The whole family will regret not listening to Trishna but by that time it may be too late.

@blue, I don't even think he cares whether Ishaan covers for him or not.

@ red, that's the thing. I don't know whether or not the family will regret not listening. They would have to find out first. Even if they do find out anything, they will probably still say Samrat and Urmi are married now and Urmi will make the best of it, or that she will turn him around.
