Chapter 7
Antara and Rukhsana started singing...Raghu and Machmach kept staring at them...they sang beautifully. The crowd cheered for them. There performance got over soon and Raghu and Machmach rushed backstage to congratulate them. Antara and Rukhsana hugged each other...finally their performance was over and it was a success. Suddenly they turned around and saw Raghu and Machmach coming towards them with huge smiles on their faces. Raghu rushed to Antara and hugged her...Machmach was shocked..he looked at Rukhsana ...his eyes were widened..he went to Rukhsana and congratulated her. She shook hands with him and blushed. Meanwhile...Raghu was still hugging Antara and congratulating her for her concert. Antara hugged him back..but when she saw the look on Machmach and Rukhsana's faces she broke out of his hug..Raghu too realized what he had done. There was a moment of awkward silence between the two..suddenly Machmach chuckled and Rukhsana too joined him. Raghu and Antara glared at both of them...they quickly stopped laughing.
"Antara I think now we should go back to our hotel...its safe now!" Raghu said unwillingly.
Antara nodded and said "Okay...if you want to!" she didn't want him to go.
Raghu looked into her eyes and could see the unwillingness to let him go back. Both of them looked at each other for a long time.
"Raghu beta!! Are you leaving?" Dr.Kaul asked him
He broke out of his trance and said"Yes uncle...I think I should go back to the hotel now!" Saying this he looked at Antara...she quickly lowered her gaze.
Dr.Kaul sensed something...he smiled and said "Okay do one thing go back to the hotel take your stuffs and come back here to stay with us!"
Raghu was delighted to hear this.." What?? Really...but..umm..no uncle how can I stay here??" He said trying hard to hide his excitement.
Antara chuckled softly...Raghu glared at her...she immediately stopped laughing...but a smile remained on her face.
"You have to stay here...!! No if's no but's !!" Dr.Kaul said firmly.
"Yes uncle!" Raghu replied...he was very happy..he looked at Antara she couldn't stop smiling. Dr.Kaul left and Raghu winked at Antara and she blushed...she immediately ran inside her room. Raghu was feeling so happy..
"Machmach lets go and bring all our stuffs from the hotel...uncle asked her to stay here!" He said with a huge grin.
"Wow!! Really?? This is great news!" Machmach said happily on hearing the good news." By the way did you Plan anything about my proposal...I mean..the arrangements..?"
"Yeah I planned everything...don't worry...!!" Raghu said with a smile.
"Thanks a lot!!" Machmach said.
"Stop thanking me and let's go!" Raghu said and started walking towards the door.
After two hours...
Raghu and Machmach unpacked all their stuffs and kept it in their respective rooms. It was a huge house..everyone was allotted a different room.
"Machmach I have planned everything for your proposal...are you going to propose her today?" Raghu asked excitedly.
"Ummm...yeah I guess!" Machmach said he was feeling very nervous.
"Don't worry everything's going to be fine..and you know what?? I am sure that she is going to say yes..I mean look at you man...you are so handsome , smart and most importantly good at heart. She is left with no other option but to say yes!! " Raghu said trying to cheer him up.
"You really think she is going to say yes??" Machmach said...he was feeling a lot less nervous now.
"Yeah!! Really..she is all yours!" Raghu said and gave him a huge smile.
"Thank you so much!!" machmach said and Smiled a huge smile.
Meanwhile...
"Antara beta we are going to your aunt's house...do you want to come with us?" Dr.Kaul asked antara.
"No dad..I am really tired!! I need rest!" Antara replied...she was really tired.
"Okay beta but take care and call us immediately if you face some problem!! " Antara's mother said.
"Yeah mom I will!" Antara replied with a smile.
"Okay I guess we should leave then!" He said to antara and turned towards his wife" Let's go!!"
They left..Antara was walking up the stairs slowly when she met Raghu on the stairs.
"Did Uncle and aunty go somewhere?" Raghu enquired
"Umm yeah they have gone to my aunt's house!" Antara replied with a smile and then started walking upstairs.
"PERFECT!" raghu said .
"What??" Antara looked at him her eyes widened.
"Umm Antara I have something to tell you!" Raghu said nervously.
"Hmm please say!" Antara said
"Machmach is going to propose Rukhsana today!!" Raghu said cheerfully in a low tone.
"WOW!! Really?? OMG!! Rukhsana will be so happy!!" Antara replied.
"You mean Rukhsana loves him too right??" Raghu asked staring at her..she looked so beautiful when she smiled.
"Yeah haven't you seen it in her eyes?? Eyes speak more than words!! " Antara replied still smiling.
Raghu looked into her eyes and said" Yeah I have seen it for sure!!" He replied...he was totally dazed...he was not in his senses.
"I am talking about Rukhsana's eyes not mine...why are you looking into my eyes??" She chuckled.
"Umm sorry...I was talking about Rukhsana too!!" He said and smiled.
"Hmm okay can I please share this good news with Rukhsana...she would be so happy!!" Antara said and was about to rush towards Rukhsana's room to give her the good news when Raghu caught her wrist.
"Hey don't!! It's a surprise!! Just go and ask her to wait in the garden..give her an excuse but make sure that she goes there!" Raghu told antara.
"Okay I will!" Antara replied cheerfully.
"Now go!" raghu said.
"I will..leave my hand first..how am I supposed to go if you keep holding my hand!" Antara said and smiled.
"Oh sorry!" Raghu said and left her hand even though he didn't want to.
Antara ran to Rukhsana's room and Raghu kept staring at her..." She is so beautiful!" He thought.
Then he brushed off her thoughts from his mind and went to Machmach to tell him about the plan. Raghu got a text from antara :
RUKHSANA IS GOING TOWARDS THE GARDEN...IS MACHMACH READY??
I CANT WAIT RAGHU!!!
Raghu read the message and smiled..he started moving towards the garden.
Rukhsana came out of the house and walked towards the garden...it was very dark outside..suddenly she felt something and turned behind...there was no one..she started walking again and turned back again...but there was no one but this time when she looked in the front she saw that the whole area was lighted up...there were red and white balloons everywhere...she was so happy to see it...then suddenly Machmach came in front of her. She smiled and looked away..something told her that he was going to propose her.
Machmach took a deep breath..He looked at Raghu and Antara who were standing behind Rukhsana...Antara gave him a thumbs up and Raghu nodded.
"Rukhsana!! I love you!! Will you be mine??" machmach said bending on his knees.
"Yes!! Forever and ever!!" Rukhsana replied...a tear escaped her eye.
"ab bas tu han bol de Miss Kaul!!" Raghu said.
"What did you say??" Antara asked..she had heard what Raghu said.
"Umm...I mean to say...that..umm...yeah say yes for their marriage!!" Raghu said managing to make up a lie.
"Why does my yes matter?? It's their wedding!!" Antara chuckled...she knew Raghu meant something else.
"Why not Rukhsana is your best friend!!" Raghu replied..he wasn't able to convince Antara.
"Hmm right!" Antara replied...she knew he was lying.
"hmm!" Raghu said and breathed a sigh of relief." Thank god she couldn't understand!" He thought.
At night...
"OMG !!! Antara I still can't believe Machmach proposed me!! I am so happy!!" Rukhsana said hugging Antara. Antara hugged her back..she was happy to see Rukhsana smiling!!
"I am so happy for you Rukhsana!!" Antara replied with a smile.
Raghu was outside Antara's room talking to Machmach..When Machmach left to answer a phone call..he tried to listen to what the girls were talking about.
"Oho Antara I forgot to tell you!! Guess who called me today!!" Rukhsana said cheerfully.
"Who?? Please tell me!!" Antara said her smile getting even more wider.
"Try to guess na!!" Rukhsana said.
"Arey tell me na!!" Antara pleaded.
"Your beloved boyfriend Karan is coming here tomorrow...he called me up to tell me!!!" Rukhsana said..and smiled.
"OMG!! Rukhsana!! Really?? I missed him so much!! " Antara said.
"Yes!! He wanted to surprise you..but I couldn't hold it in any longer!! " Rukhsana said excitedly.
"You made my day Rukhsana!!! Yay!!! " Antara screamed.
Outside the room...raghu had tears in his eyes...he couldn't believe what he heard..."Antara has a boyfriend.." He choked " she never told me about it..how could she..??" He said..he was so hurt.
He started walking towards his room slowly...he locked the door from inside and cried.
After an hour...
"Antara...Machmach just texted me and asked me to meet him...so i..." Rukhsana said blushing.
"Yeah yeah sure!!" Antara said making a face.
Rukhsana ran downstairs.
Antara was feeling bored so she went to Raghu's room and knocked on his door.
"Raghu?? Are you busy?" She asked.
Raghu was still crying...suddenly he got up from his bed and walked towards the door...he was angry...he opened the door and glared at Antara...Antara was scared..she had never seen him like this...his eyes were red and his cheeks were tear stained.
"What happened Raghu?? Are you all right??" Antara asked...she was concerned.
"What is it to you??" Raghu snapped.
Antara was hurt.. "Raghu I am your friend...your happiness matters to me!" She said her eyes welled up with tears.
"Which friend are you talking about...?? You don't share anything with me..!! you didn't even tell me you have a boyfriend!! What was his name?? Karan..right!!" Raghu said...his voice cracked.
Antara smiled when she heard that and said "arey boyfriend yes..but let me explain..!!" she was still smiling.
Raghu was so angry when he saw her smile on the word boyfriend'. He suddenly caught her wrist and pulled her inside the room..he locked the door...and pinned her to a wall.
"How can you smile?? Do you even know how much this hurt me??" He asked leaning towards her face..their faces were only inches apart.
"But Raghu listen to me..! " Antara said..trying to make him understand.
"Why should I listen to you??? You don't even know my feelings for you...!!" he said drops of tears made its way down his cheeks. Antara was shocked...
"But Raghu Karan is not my boyfriend he is my nephew..he is four years old Raghu...!" Antara said.
"WHAT???" Raghu screamed.
"Yes Rukhsana calls him my boyfriend because we always play a game where he behaves as my boyfriend...!!" Antara said and smiled remembering the game..Karan is so cute..
Raghu was so happy to hear this...he left Antara's hand and smiled...Antara smiled back...suddenly he hugged her...Antara was so shocked she couldn't hug him back..
"Antara never leave me alone! Never! Please!" He said...the pain of losing her was evident in his voice.
"No I wont!! Never!!" Antara replied and hugged him tightly.
They stood there hugging each other for a long time and finally Antara pulled back and looked down...she was feeling very shy.
"Raghu come downstairs..its time for dinner!" She said and was about to leave when Raghu came in front of her and said "Tomorrow we will go somewhere...!!" He said looking into her eyes.
"Okay I will tell Rukhsana!" Antara replied.
"No only the two of us!! " Raghu said and smiled.
Antara's eyes widened hearing this.." Umm okay!" She said blushing.
"Okay done! I am coming downstairs in two minutes!" He said and flashed his million dollar smile.
Antara was dazed momentarily seeing his smile but she soon came back to her senses and left the room...Raghu smiled and said "I LOVE YOU MISS KAUL!!"
PRECAP: Raghu held Antara's hand tightly...she was unable to move.."Do you love me??" He said.
"Raghu...Please let me go..!!" Antara replied she did not want to answer his question.
"No I won't..!! Please give me an answer...DO YOU LOVE ME??" Raghu asked again
Antara looked into his eyes...
