Chapter 8
Antara and raghu were quiet at the dinner table..Raghu would occasionally steal glances of Antara and she would blush... Machmach and Rukhsana were holding hands under the table...Suddenly Raghu's spoon fell under the table and he bent to pick it up. He saw them holding hands under the table and started chuckling. Antara looked at him and raised her eyebrows..he motioned her to look under the table..and Antara saw them holding hands..Machmach and Rukhsana were so lost that they were unaware of all the activity taking place around the dinner table. Suddenly Raghu banged on the table and the both the love birds broke out of their trance..they were startled...Machmach's jaw almost dropped...Antara couldn't control her laughter anymore..she got up from her chair and walked towards Raghu and high fived him..the both of them were literally rolling on the floor laughing. Rukhsana blushed to a dark shade of pink and ran towards her room..Machmach felt ashamed and he too ran towards his room. Raghu and Antara stopped laughing and turned towards each other..they again broke out into uncontrollable fits of laughter. Antara finally stopped laughing and said "Well done partner!" She smiled
"Thanks!" Raghu replied.
"well good night!! My boyfriend is coming tomorrow..so I don't want to wake up late!" Antara said and smiled.
"Yeah good night..I am dying to meet your boyfriend!!" Raghu said jokingly.
"But unfortunately he is not going to stay...di is going back tomorrow!" Antara said and made a sad face.
"That's sad...make sure that all the moments you spend with him are special...!" Raghu said. "Antara?"
"Yeah!"
"I hope you didn't forget about our date!!" Raghu said and winked at her.
Antara's eyes widened..."Wait a minute! Did he say date?? OMG!! Yes he said date!!!" She thought.
"DATE??" antara said..she was surprised.
"Yeah date!! I will take you to the best restaurant in kashmir!" He said smiling...he was constantly studying her expressions.
"Umm okay!" Antara said and turned around to leave.
"I have kept a gift in your room...I want you to wear that tomorrow!" Raghu said and smiled.
Antara quickly turned around to face him...she was surprised.."Gift?" She said smiling.
"Yeah! Please wear that tomorrow!" Raghu said and started walking towards her.
"Thanks Raghu!" Antara said and ran up the stairs before he could come near her.
Raghu was a bit disappointed but he was happy that she would be all his after tomorrow..
Antara ran up to her room and saw a packet lying on the bed..she quickly opened it and was stunned to see what Raghu had bought for her..It was a red sari with a black border and it was beautiful. There was also a note with it. Antara took the note and read it...it said:
Please wear this sari tomorrow..I really want to see how you look in this!
It's the first time we are going out together so I wanted it to be special.
RAGHU
Antara blushed reading the note and hugged the sari..she kept it inside the cupboard and lay down on her bed to sleep..but she was unable to do so...whenever she closed her eyes she saw Raghu... She smiled on his thoughts and decided to go out and walk in the garden for some time.
She was walking alone in the garden when someone tapped on her shoulder..she turned around and saw Rukhsana...she smiled seeing her and both of them sat together on the bench.
"Rukhsana...I think I am I love!!" Antara said.
"yeah...tell me something new..!!"Rukhsana replied and grinned.
"What do you mean?" Antara said.
"Antara I know that the both of you are in love with each other...!" Rukhsana replied.
"Really??How did you know?" Antara asked excitedly.
"I know you since childhood..and Raghu..he is so easy to read..He fell in love with you at first sight!! IDIOT!! You were the only one who didn't know!" Rukhsana said and lightly slapped the back of antara's head.
Antara smiled...she was so happy to hear all this.."we are going out tomorrow!!" Antara said and looked down...she was blushing.
"What really?? I mean is it like a date?" Rukhsana said excitedly.
"Yeah Rukhsana he said that this would be our first date and he even bought me a sari!" Antara said excitedly.
"OMG!! I think he is going to propose you tomorrow!!" Rukhsana screamed.
"eeks!! Rukhsana...do you think so?? OMG!! What would I say...I won't be able to look at him too..oh no! how will I be able to face him...I am too shy!!" Antara said...she got worried now...she was too shy.
"Oh god!! Stop freaking out and lets go.its too late...we should sleep now...Remember?? Karan is coming tomorrow!!" Rukhsana said and smiled.
"Yeah let's go!! " Antara said excitedly and went inside the house.
The next morning...
The door bell rang..."Move everybody!! Karan is here...I am going to open the door!!" Antara screamed.
She opened the door and little Karan hugged her tightly...Antara was so happy to see him...she lifted him in her arms and kissed him on his cheek..he kissed her back!! Raghu was standing behind Antara watching all this...he was smiling seeing them together.
"So my boyfriend is back !!" Antara said and smiled
"Yes!!" Karan said and hugged Antara even more tightly.
After a while karan saw Rukhsana and ran towards her to hug her..Meanwhile Antara hugged her cousin sister. Antara introduced her to Raghu and Machmach..Karan loved Raghu and soon they were discussing about cars. Antara comes and sits on the sofa beside Karan and says..."seems like my boyfriend forgot me!" She sighs.
"No I haven't forgotten my girlfriend!!" Karan said and ran towards Antara to hug her.
Antara smiled and hugged him back...Raghu was continuously staring at Antara...he was noticing her each and every reaction..how she was talking to Karan how she was hugging him...for a moment he wished that he could be in karan's place..he wanted to hug her too...
Karan stayed for a long time..it was evening now...they had to go back.."Karan!! I wish you stayed longer...I don't want you to leave so soon..!!" Antara said..she was sad..Karan kissed her on her cheek and she smiled.
"Don't be sad I will come back soon!" Karan said cheerfully.
"Aww...but I am going to Mumbai after two days...I will miss you Karan!" Antara said..a drop of tear escaped from her eyes and Karan wiped it with his little hand.
Karan hugged her tightly and said "I will miss you too!"
"Bye!! Raghu bhaiya!!" Karan said and ran up to him to hug him.
Raghu hugged him back. Karan waved his hand and shouted "Bye!!"
Antara started walking towards the kitchen...she was really sad that Karan had to leave so soon.."Antara!!" Rukhsana said.
"Yeah!" Antara replied the smile was missing from her face.
"I am going out with machmach...I will be back at night!" She said blushing and looked towards Machmach who was smiling.
"Yeah sure..have fun!!" Antara said and smiled slightly.
Machmach held Rukhsana's hand and they left..Raghu smiled thinking about their date. Antara went inside the kitchen and Raghu followed her quietly..he hid behind the wall and watched her actions..suddenly her phone rang..she smiled seeing the name flashing on her screen..
"Hi Sid!!" Antara said cheerfully "How are you??"
"Hi Antara! I am fine!! Missed you a lot! I hope you are fine!" Sid replied.
"Yeah I am fine! I missed you a lot too!" Antara said...she was still smiling.
Raghu was hearing everything..he again started to feel jealous but he calmed down hearing what she said after that...
"So Sid tell me when are you and Priya getting married??I can't wait anymore...please get married soon!!" Antara said.
"That's why I called you Antara..I heard that you are coming to Mumbai..Is it true??" Sid asked.
"Yeah I am leaving for Mumbai after two days!!" Antara said excitedly.."Oh my god!!! Are you getting married next month??"
"Yeah we are and now that you are coming to Mumbai..." Sid replied but Antara didn't let him finish.."OMG!!! OMG!! Yipee!! Congratulations Sid!! I am so happy for you!!" Antara said she couldn't control her excitement.
Sid and Antara talked for another five minutes and Sid tried a lot to calm her down a bit...but she kept on screaming with excitement...after that she hung up and started jumping with joy. Raghu was looking at her and smiling seeing her innocence. Raghu came out from behind the wall just when Antara started rushing towards the door and they collided with each other. Antara was so excited she let out a huge grin and said "Raghu my friend is getting married!! "
"Yeah I know I heard!!" Raghu replied with a smile.
"Wait a minute!! For how long have you been standing here?? Where you spying on me??" Antara said
"N...No..Of course not!! Why would I be spying on you!!" He lied "You were talking so loudly that I heard you...if you spoke a little louder Sid would have heard you even without the phone!!" Raghu said with a devilish smile.
"Huh!! Whatever!!" Antara said and started walking towards the stairs.
"Antara!!!! " Raghu called her "I hope you didn't forget about our date..get ready...I can't wait to see you in that sari!"
"Yeah I will be ready in 30 minutes!" Antara said and blushed. She ran up the stairs to get ready.
Antara rushed up to her room and wore the red sari which he had given her..she wore a pair of diamond earrings which were simple but beautiful. She left her hair open and started walking towards the door. She turned around and looked into the mirror for the last time to see if she was looking good...and then she went downstairs. Raghu was already waiting for her.. he turned around and saw her...his mouth fell open when he saw her...he was stunned..Antara was looking out of this world..even more beautiful than he had imagined..he unconsciously moved towards her..Antara stopped moving..she was feeling very nervous..to avoid any further problems she snapped her fingers in front of his eyes and said "hello??? Are you there?? Let's go!!" and she started to move towards the main door to avoid him..Raghu broke out of his trance but he was so mesmerized seeing her that he caught her hand and pulled her towards him she crashed into his arms..she was shocked at his sudden action..she pushed him back a little and freed herself from his grip..she started to move back when he caught her hand again. Raghu held Antara's hand tightly...she was unable to move...he looked into her eyes.."Do you love me??" he said.
"Raghu...please let me go!!" Antara replied she did not want to answer his question.
"No I won't..!! Please give me an answer...DO YOU LOVE ME??" Raghu asked again.
Antara looked into his eyes.."What do you think raghu??" She asked sweetly.
Raghu smiled and said "Antara...I have seen love for me in your eyes...but I want you to tell me...!!"
"Well yes!" Antara replied and looked down.
"What do you mean by yes'?? Tell me clearly!!" Raghu said mischeiviously.
"Umm...Why should I say it first..?? I won't!! " Antara said and smiled.
"Really?? You won't?? I will see how you don't!! I will give you 24 hours time to confess or else...umm...I am going to tell your parents that you love me!!! Will that be okay??" raghu said and gave a wicked grin.
"No you won't!! before that you are going to confess to me and that's a promise!!" antara said and looked at him with determination.
"We will see!! I accept your challenge!" raghu said and extended her arm towards her. Antara shook his hand and nodded..."We will see!!" She repeated.
"let's go Miss Antara kaul!!" Raghu said extending his arm towards her.
"Yes lets go Mr. Raghunath naik!" Antara said holding his arm...both of them gave each other a smile...and looked at each other confidently..they both knew that they won't lose.
PRECAP: "Antara!!! Stop!! " Raghu said..as she was running...she turned towards him and made a face.
A car came from the opposite direction..."ANTARA!!!!!!" Raghu screamed...he felt like somebody took his life away.
The car hit her and she fell on the road blood oozing out of her head...
