Chapter 24

Raghu gently kissed my forehead and I looked up into his eyes. I smiled at him. Our eye lock broke with the sound of my phone. I took my phone out of my pocket and said, "Mom ka phone hain. Raghu mujhe chodo." "Nahi, jo bhi baat karni hain, yahin karo. Main nahi chodne wala tume," he said. I sighed and picked up the phone. "Hi mom, kaise ho aap?" I asked. "Main theek hoon, acha aaj tera orientation kaisa tha?" She asked. "Acha tha mom. Mujhe aap sab ki bahut yaad aa rahi hain," I said. "Hum sab ko bhi teri bahut yaad aa rahi hain," she said. "Acha mom, abhi main bahar hoon. Main raat ko aap ko phone karongi. Theek hain?" I asked. "Haan beta. Bye," she said. "Bye mom," I said and cut the call. "Sab theek hain na?" Raghu asked. "Haan, umm ab hum ghar chale? Aunty wait kar rahi hongi," I said. "Par main toh tume long drive pe leke jaane wala tha," he said. I thought for a moment. It was only 3 in the afternoon. "Theek hain, par tume apna bike aaram se chalana hoga. Promise?" I asked. "Tere liye to jaan bhi de sakta hoon, yeh kya cheez hain," he said. "Raghu," I said. "Acha, ok promise. Ab chale?" he asked. "Haan chalo," I said. The two of us walked back to the bike, hand in hand.

"Rukhsana beth ja na," Machmach said. "Machmach, in dono ka koi pata nahi aur tum mujhe beth ne ke liye keh rahe ho?" I said. "Woh dono koi chote bache nahi hain. Aa jayenge. Abhi toh sirf 4 baje hain. Dono ko enjoy karne do na," he said. I finally gave in and sat down.

"Miss Kaul, chal ghar aa gaya," I said. We got off the bike and went inside. "Raghu, Antara, kahan they tum dono? Raghu tum to sirf usse pick up karne gaye they na? 3 ghante ho gaye hain," mom said as soon as we walked in. "Mom, relax. Hum dono drive pe gaye they," I said. "Haan haan theek hain. Waise char dino mein Ishaan aur Payal wapas aa jayenge aur hume unke reception ki tayaari karni hain. Aur main chati hoon ki iss baar saare intezaam tum karo, Raghu," she said. "Main mom?" I asked. "Haan tum. Tumare paas panch din hain. Antara toh busy hogi na. Usse kaam jo karna hain, issi liye tume yeh sab apne aap karna hoga," she said. "Aunty, Raghu yeh sab akele kaise karega? Main uski madat kar doongi na," Antara said. "Theek hain, par sab intezaam ache se ho jaane chaiye," she said. "Ji aunty. Sab kuch ho jaye ga," Antara said. "Ok, toh main jao?" I asked. "Haan tum jao, aunty aap chaliye, main aap ki dinner bannane mein help kar deti hoon," Antara said. She was walking towards the kitchen when she turned around and smiled. Mom had already gone into the kitchen so I gave her a wink and saw her blushing. She turned back and hit her head into the wall next to the kitchen. "Ouch!" She yelled. "Miss Kaul," I said and ran towards her. Her hand was covering were she got hit. "Haath hata," I said. She moved her hand and I saw that there was a small red bump on the right side of her forehead. "Tu dekh kar nahi chal sakti?" I asked. "Is mein meri kya galati? Tum ne hi toh..." She said. "Haan haan. Is mein bhi meri hi galati hain," I said, sarcasticaly. "Haan tumari hi galati hain. Tumari wajese hi toh main..." she said. "Acha, maine aisa kya kiya?" I asked. "Woh, tum... Jo bhi ho, tumari galati thi," she said. "Acha. I'm sorry. Ab theek hain?" I asked. She paused to think for a moment and said, "Haan theek hain." "Abhi bhi daard ho raha hain?" I asked. She nodded her head. I leaned towards her and gave her a small kiss on her forehead close to the small bump. "Ab kaisa hain?" I asked. "Ab theek hain," she replied. "Antara, agar tumara aur Raghu ka khatam ho gaya ho, toh tum please andar aa ke meri madat kar do," mom said. Antara quickly ran into the kitchen, leaving me standing out there. I ran my hand through my hair and said, "Pagal ladki. Ek dum yedi hain. Jaise phele thi, abhi bhi waise hi hain." I went up to my room and started with the task that mom had given me.
