Chapter 8

The next morning, everyone was downstairs practicing for the sangeet. The choreographer had just arrived and was putting everyone in pairs. "Hume ek group dance karna hain, jisme hume couples ki zuroorat hain. Tum dono," she said, pointing at Piya & Ranveer, "phele couple ok?" "Yeah," they said. Riya & Arjun were paired up and Antara was paired with Raghu.

I was thinking about the weird flashback from yesterday when I heard my name being called with Raghu's. I put this to the back of my mind and concentrated on the fact that I had to practice my dance. Why was I hesitating so much to go up to him? No, don't be scared just go. I took a deep breath and walked towards him.

It took us a few hours to learn the dance, but the one thing that I noticed was that she was an amazing dancer. She caught the steps immediately and then there was me. It took me such a long time to get one step right. We finally took a break and even then Antara didn't stop dancing. She had to practice her solo performance for the sangeet. I realized that I had been speaking out loud the entire time. How was I going to explain this to Riya? "Woh, I meant Antara." I said. "Oh, par aap uske baare mein kyun soch re ho?" she said. "Pata nahi," I said. "Bhai aap bhi na... Kahin aap ko Antara pasand to nahi aa gayi? Aap sochiye main zaara aati hoon," she said and walked away. Main Miss. Kaul ko pasand karta hoon? Nahi... Par woh sab se alag hain. My thoughts were interrupted by someone's voice. "Raghu," I turned to see Arjun. "Aaj to tum bach gaye, par agar agli baar mujhe tum apni behen ke itne paas dikhe na, toh phir tumari kher nahi," he said.

It was dinnertime when I next saw her. We were having an early dinner because everyone was so tired from dancing. I looked at her but than remembered what Arjun said. But he wasn't even here. He had gone home, I realized after doing a quick scan of the room. I looked up at her again but she didn't look back at me.

I didn't know if I should say anything to him or not. I mean, I was so confused about the way that I was feeling and I didn't want to make things any worse.

I was noticing that there was something wrong between the two of them. There was a weird feeling between the two of them. Well, this time, since I was Raghu's mom, I would make him understand and make sure that everything goes perfectly fine.

After dinner, I went to Raghu's room. "Raghu," I said. "Ji mom, kuch hua kya?" he asked. "Nahi, kuch nahi hua. Woh main chati hoon ki tum meri dawai leke aao. woh main saath mein doosra bottle leke aana bhol gayi thi. Kya tum le aao ge?" I asked. "Par mom, mujhe to yahan ka kuch bhi nahi pata hain," he replied. "Koi baat nahi, tum Antara ko apne saath le jao," I said. "Antara?" he said and then agreed. "Ok Mom." He got up and went to Antara's room. Yes, I thought, in dono ko akele kuch waqt mile ga ab.

There was a knock on the door. Piya was in the bathroom so I got up and opened the door and found Raghu standing there. "Tum?" I asked. "Woh mom chati hain ki tum mere saath chalo. Unki dawai khatam ho gayi hain aur mujhe yahan ka kuch pata nahi hain toh unhone ne kaha ki main tume apne saath le ke jaon," he said. I hesitated. Should I go? It was almost 8, it wasn't that late. We would be back in 15 minutes. "Ok, chalo," I said and grabbed my shawl and phone.
