TWENTY TWO

'Are you crazy? antara why would you want to put yourself through that, after all he has done and said you think it would be wise?' Sahil was not happy with the idea but she knew he wouldn't be. In the short time that they had been friends antara and Sahil had become very close, close enough for antara to tell him about raghu and when it came to antara Sahil was a little over protective.

Sara was moaning and becoming grumpy as Sahil was not budging on his take on the idea. After hours of talking about the pros and cons they came to a mutual agreement. Antara would lead on the research aspect of the project, Sara and Sahil will work and liaise with RNN Designs to feed in ideas to antara and by the end of it they could all do their own individual pieces of work whether it was a collage, painting or whatever. Antara and her little gang were all happy by the end of it, this plan would not fail, everyone would play their part and there would be no unnecessary tensions between anyone.

'Good, now we know what we all want to do, I guess I can let raghu know that we are all in agreement' Antara took out her phone to text raghu.

Hi, you will be happy to know that my group has agreed...so I guess we can all meet up at some point to discuss ideas. Let me know when it would be a good time for you

raghu's eyes lit up as he saw antara's message to say he was happy would have been an understatement.

Raghu had invited antara and her colleagues to RNN Designs the following day, he was eagerly pacing his office waiting for them to arrive, he hadn't seen her for two days but for him it felt like two years, he knew that his attraction for her was much more, but he was still to decipher what he was to call this.

Antara, Sara and Sahil had finally arrived. Antara was happy to see her ex colleagues, she introduces her friends and started engaging in small chit chat when all of a sudden she felt her heart skip a beat even before she turned around she knew raghu was standing behind her she could feel the heat from his intense gaze. She turned around and smiled 'hi...um these are my friends..um this is Sara and this is Sahil' she said pointing in their direction. Sara was all too eager to come forward and shake raghu's hand, antara bit her lip trying not to laugh, Sahil on the other hand approached him with more caution.

Raghu led the trio to his cabin, as antara walked up behind him she felt strange all the memories of her time here started to flash before her, every close encounter every word every emotion started to come alive she took a deep breath in before she entered through the doors to the monsters den once again.

Antara sat next in between Sara and Sahil she need to be close to Sara to tame her, the girl was crazier than a hormonal teenager it was definitely the RNN affect. As the meeting began antara and her friends put forward their ideas and what they had all planned to do. Raghu in return listened attentively and agreed to what they were saying, he was quite impressed with their little presentation, but then he knew how antara worked, and she never left a stone unturned. Antara was all too aware of the way that raghu was looking at her; she started to become a little self-conscious, she kept fidgeting with her hair pushing it behind her ear. As she leaned forward to adjust her position her hair fell forward as a natural reaction Sahil quickly put his hand up and pushed her hair back so it fell behind her shoulders, antara looked at Sahil and they exchanged a smile. As antara looked towards raghu she saw how his whole posture had changed his eyes had narrowed and his jaw had clenched bringing his lips into a thin line she knew this was not good.

'raghu, I think it will be so great working with you I am so excited' Sara said with an unusual high pitched voice, however irritating it was a blessing it made raghu take his daggers of Sahil and turn towards her. 'Um...excuse me...you were saying' raghu had not really heard what Sara had just said Sara giggled 'I mean us working together...isn't it going to be great...Sahil and I will be here whenever you need us' antara and Sahil looked at Sara as to say excuse me what was that? Sara gulped knowing she was going a little overboard. Raghu looked at antara with a confused expression 'What she means is that Sahil and Sara will base their work here at RNN Designs...and I will do the field work...I mean research and we can meet once a week to feed in to each other...updates, new ideas etc'.

Raghu's look intensified was he hearing this correct, antara wasn't going to work with him. Will that mean you will not be coming here, he asked trying to keep his tone as clam as possible antara knew he wasn't going to take a liking to the idea in fact she knew it was going to enrage him but it was the best way. 'No...I mean Yes...No...' Antara started to fluster she was trying hard to keep clam and make sure whatever she said was going to keep him calm too. 'What I mean is that I will be carrying out the research on Indian Culture and these two will work alongside yourself and your team, we have divided the work up so we all get to do and learn something new. We only have 2 months to do this...with rukku's wedding coming up so soon I thought it would be better for me to be the one out and about'.

Antara carried on looking at raghu trying to detect any changes in his mood but she didn't. He still sat with his back stiff his hands clenched as if he was ready to throw a punch and his eyes wearing a frown. Sahil put his hand on antara's knee to indicate that they needed to leave, antara understood and turned to raghu, who was looking at Sahil's hand that was still on her knee, antara could see that his eyes had started to go red in anger she quickly stood up with Sara and Sahil followed pursuit 'th...thank you so much for meeting us, I guess we will be seeing you again soon' antara managed to say trying to smile at the same time. Raghu didn't respond he just continued scowled at Sahil. Sahil wasn't blind to raghu's evil looks but chose to ignore him as it gave him a hint of satisfaction. Antara turned towards Sahil and gently pushed his shoulder to usher him out. She let Sahil and Sara walk ahead of her and before she closed the door she turned to say bye to raghu but as she did he turned his back to her.

Antara spent the rest of the day confused with raghu's behavior, he wasn't outwardly rude or dismissive but she sensed that his mood had changed dramatically. She knew he wasn't going to like the idea of her doing the research but what was his problem with Sahil, poor him he must of felt so uncomfortable she thought to herself.

Nothing was ever easy in antara's life everything always happened together never giving her enough time to fully appreciate or enjoy anything at one time. She had 2 months to put the exhibition together and at the same time she had to prepare for rukku's wedding, which was four weeks away. How she was going to play the bride's sister and travel around to do her research was beyond her. Antara spoke to her parents and rukku about the Youth Festival and what she had decided to do. They were very happy and supportive of her, rukku as always encouraged her 'don't worry we are all here to support you...and I promise not to stress you out too much, just make sure you have no travelling plans for the week of the wedding' rukku said holding her hand in support. Ashok was a little concerned at the prospect of antara having to travel to other cities on her own. Knowing exactly what her father was thinking she put his worrying mind to rest. 'Don't worry dad, I am not going to venture out far they will be short one day trips and if needs be I can take Sahil with me' ashok smiled at his daughter, she knew him all too well.

Antara had planned to meet Sara and Sahil for a late lunch. Sara was running late so antara and Sahil decided to walk to cafeteria. On route antara missed the large pot hole in the road making her trip forward before she hit the floor Sahil managed to grab her arm and swing her back, balancing herself on one foot she landed across his chest he held her tight as she tried to recover from the shock. He pulled her back and cupped her face 'hey are you ok' antara lifted her hands bringing them over his and gently pulled them down 'yes, I think so, how the hell did I miss that? Thanks Sahil' antara held on to his arm to balance herself as she adjusted her shoe strap that had come lose. 'Come lets go, and I think you should hold on just in case you decide to go flying again' Sahil joked. As they continued to walk antara stopped at seeing an all too familiar white SUV, she could see raghu sitting in his car across the road she started waving to get his attention but as soon as she did he drove off. 'I am sure that was raghu, what was he doing here and why did he just drive off like that...Sahil that was raghu right?' antara asked thinking that she might have been mistaken 'don't know wasn't paying attention'. Antara knew she wasn't wrong that was definitely him, but why did he ignore her and drive off and what was he doing this side of town. As they ordered their lunch Antara took out her phone to text him.

Hi, hope you are ok I saw you outside the Academy tried to get your attention but you left - we should be meeting soon re the project. Hope to hear from you soon.

After a few minutes she saw raghu's reply

Yes I saw you. Unlike yourself I have work to do so didn't stop, if you need to meet you can talk to machmach or Aman

'What the hell' what kind of a response was that, and if he had seen her then why did he drive off? antara frowned at the message clearly annoyed with the response bloody schizo'.

Antarawas going to go on her first field trip to Agra whilst Sara and Sahil were going to go into RNN Designs to get some insight. As raghu had instructed she had arranged with machmach for Aman to meet Sara and Sahil the next morning. 'machmach please ask Aman to look after them for me, I won't always be there and I know raghu can get a little funny at times' machmach couldn't help laughing at his sister in laws request 'don't worry little sis its under control, and by the way shruti wants you to pop in after you finish at the Academy I think Aunty geeta is also coming we need to finalise the menu for the wedding and also go over the guest list' antara sighed, she didn't understand why she needed to be present for such details, it's not that she didn't want to participate her run ins with raghu were becoming more than just complicated, she felt she needed to stay clear of him as much as possible but she also knew it wasn't going to be an easy task 'ok, I'll be there'.

Antara was engrossed in conversation, talking to daya mai about how the role of women had changed so much in the last few decades. She didn't notice when raghu had come in 'raghu, come and sit with us' shruti stopped him as he walked past. Antara quickly looked up at hearing his name 'No shruti, I have some stuff to do that can't wait, I'll be in my room' he gave antara one last look before she turned and walked off. Antara didn't realize that she had been holding her breath as soon as he left she let out a deep sigh. 'raghu always has some stuff to do, I tell you that man may as well be married to his job, no girl will want to marry someone who spends more time with their laptop and mobile phone' shruti said sounding disappointed
