Chapter 5... hope for survival

Antara came back to her room. Geeta and ishan were all ready asleep. At last she was satisfied that she had gone through the first acid test. It was all vishal uncles plan. The idea of house celling came in his mind. Antara was not habituated to tell lie. she was feeling so heavy inside. But she was surprised that she could convince all of them without much effort. She didn't knew that she had that much acting capability. Antara took a deep breath to washout the frustration. The inside seemed to conjusted. She came out at the front balcony. It was quite late at night. The whole basti seemed so silent. Antara felt that something was not there. She was wandering what was that. After some times she understood. That beautiful music of harmonica. Which always used to remove her all worries at the end of the day and helped her to get a peaceful sleep. Antara wanted to hear that tune just once. Might be for last time. She looked at the sky. It seemed peach dark today.

When raghu and macmach entered inside the basti, it was so late at night. Raghu didn't uttered a single word on the way. His eyes were dangerously calm, giving the sign of the danger... he wanted an answer from antara. What did she think of herself? If she thought that she could torment him like that...then no way! mach mach sensed something wrong and he also sealed his mouth. When the jeep was in front of antara's house as usual he felt something. That was the vibe he always got when antara was near to him. Automatically his eyes moved towards balcony. There she stood. Wearing that same fade yellow and white salwar, looking towards the night sky. She looked so torned, depressed. Like a huge storm had gone through her. Her ruffled hair were slightly moving around her face by the tender push of winds. She looked sad. Yet somehow... Beautiful! Raghu's eyes again got locked to her face. He didn't know why, but every time he looked towards her face. He felt something tender feeling in him. He saw antara's eyebrows suddenly curled into a frown. Raghu understood that she sensed that someone was gazing towards her. Antara droped her eyes and meet raghu's questioning gaze. Raghu waited to change her eyes' sad expression into that fiery full of anger gaze. He knew she was so mad. Antara stared at him for a while with expressionless face and then... she just blinked and slowly got inside the room without giving a single hatefull angry look. Just like she was watching some random people on road. But raghu felt his breath got hitched. He was so shocked for a while. What was that? Not a single word... not a single angry glance. What happened to her. If she knew miss call, she would till burst on him with all his anger. At least she would throw him dagger with her poisonous look. But she just avoided him like she didn't even know him. Not just that. Another thing was bugging in his mind so much. Even in her blank expressionless eyes he detected something. Something which was not right. He didn't know what was that but it scared him. The calm still face, not at all seemed like her!! It shook raghu heavily. Her eyes were all unreadable and emotionless. Just that few hours totally changed her. He didn't knew this antara. That blank emotionless look on her eyes... like she had lost her soul, her hope to live. Like he was looking at the face of a dead, not a living person. "BHAI!!!..." suddenly mach mach's word brought him back to reality. "chilla kyun raha hain?" He looked towards him with irritated look. "bahera nahi hoon main..abhitak kaan sahi salamat hain..." he said. "arey haan mereko pata hain... main to bas yahin kahe raha tha ki jeep se utro... hum ghar aa gaye hain..." mach mach said. Raghu looked at the gate of naik sadan and then looked back at antara's empty balcony. He thought that when he would come back to basti he was gonna jump on antara's balcony and to ask her that where the heck she was all the time but her strange blank expression took away all his courage. He thought to give her some time and talk to her letter. With a sigh he forwarded towards naik sadan.

"yes vishal uncle evcerythings fine, no one doubted." Antara answred holding the cell on her ear. She was talking to vishal uncle in her room. "good. But you have to be care full antara. U have to be sure that the actual reason for your Kashmir visit." Vishal uncle said from other side of phone. "don't worry uncle I will never say that my actual reason for visiting Kashmir is to collect information about those terrorists. Bas aap..." Antara's voice chocked. "haan bolo..." vishal uncle asked from other side. "I know uncle that I have only 10% chance to survive. Pls prommoise me that if something happens to me u will take care of ishan and mamma..." Antara said controlling her overflow. "ANTARA PLEASE!! Stop saying those words plz. U are gonna survive. Nothing is going to happen with you." Vishal almost scream from other side. Antara let out a sad smile. "I know very well uncle that what I am going to do. But let it go...tell me about the next step." She promped. Vishal gave her some information and antara heared that with concentration. "ok uncle. I understood, now I should go. I have to prepare myself for tomorrows journey." She said. "all d best dr. I know u are gonna win at the end. Ur father's blessing is always with u." he said. "I know he is with me always." Antara's determined face caught a beautiful smile. She cut the phone and turned back. But at the moent her smile faded and she frozed. She saw ishan standing just behind the bed with his confused and horrifying gaze fixed towards her. "ishan..." antara mumbled with shocked face. The phone droped on the bed.

Precap: "didu pls promise me that u will come back... otherwise I won't let u go..." ishan said holding antara's hand stubbornly. "ishu..." tears flew down her chicks.
