Chapter 3
Oh god my head was pounding and I had no idea why. Was it because of the heat? Was it because I didn't eat? I slowly opened my eyes to see that everything was a bit blurry. I blinked my eyes a couple of times as things became a little bit clearer. Where the hell was I? "Why am I here?" I asked looking around to find no one in the room. This place looked so unfamiliar. I threw the bed sheets off of me and got out of bed. I was about to get my bag from off the chair than what I was wearing earlier. "Ahhh" I screamed. All of a sudden out of nowhere Nikki came running through the door.
"Antara what happened? Are you okay?" she asked holding me.
"Where am I?" I asked again freaking out. "Where did my clothes go? Why am I here?" I asked.
"Antara calm down" Nikki said trying to calm me down. "You are at Raghu's place. You"
"Raghu's place? What am I doing here? I was at the caf" I asked freaking out that I am at this jerk's place.
"Calm down Antara. You fainted at the caf so Raghu brought you here because the Nurses' office was close" she sadi sitting me downa t the edge of the bed.
"Nikki are you sure?" I asked not sure whether I should believe what she has to say or not. Is that really what happened?
"Oh you are up? I brought the doctor" Raghu said showing the doctor in.
"Please lie down so I can do a check-up" the doctor said walking up to me. I laid down as she started her routine. "Take a deep breath" she said checking me heart beats. She also checked my pulse and said "your pulse is low." "Did you eat anything before you fainted" she asked me.
"No mam. I was about to eat, but then something happened" I said looking up at Raghu. He looked down at the floor not wanting to make eye contact with me.
"That is probably why you fainted" the doctor said writing something down on a piece of paper. "Here" she said handing the piece of paper to Raghu "these are some medicines that will help her with her headache" she said as she stood up. "Make sure she easts before she takes the medicine."
"Okay Doctor. Thank you" Nikki said walking back over to me.
"Thank you Doctor" I said sitting up on the bed.
"Come with me. I will walk you out" Raghu said making way for the doctor "I'll go get the medicines also" he said to us walking out the door.
"Nikki let's go from here. I honestly don't want to see that Raghu's face" I said getting off the bed and grabbing my bag from off the chair. I headed towards the door when I heard MachMach say something.
"Aye bhai wait don't go yet you are still bleeding" he said stopping Raghu from leaving. I stopped behind the doorway so Raghu and MachMach couldn't see me.
"MachMach I'm okay I will go get the medicines first and be right back. Make something for MissCall to eat" Raghu said walking out the door. I walked out to the living room with Nikki and saw MachMach in the kitchen.
"MachMach we are going. Tell Raghu to drop the medicine off at my apartment" I said writing down my address for him on a piece of paper. I opened the door and was about to leave when MachMach came running out the kitchen.
"Ruko (stop) don't leave. Please eat first. Warna bhai mujhe mar dalega(Or else he is going to kill me)" MachMach said pleading with his eyes.
"Okay fine" I said closing the door the walking into the kitchen to take a seat at the dining table.
"Oh god, I'm so tired. I should probably head to bed" Antara said saving the document and shutting down her computer. Antara climbed into her bed and turned off the lights. She closed her eyes for only a few seconds when her phone started ringing. *Jeene laga hoon pehle se zyaada. Pehle se zyaada tum pe* "Hello" Antara said answering her phone.
"Hi MissCall" Raghu said on the other line. "Still working on your paper?"
"Hi Raghu. No I was about to go to sleep. I'm so tired" she said taking the phone and laying it on the pillow. She rested her head on the pillow and the phone so that she could keep talking.
"Oh sorry. Maaf kardo yaar (Forgive me)" Raghu said holding his ears as if they were face to face.
"It's okay" Antara said yawning
"Okay we;; I will let you sleep than. Good night" he said.
"Good night jaan. I love you" Antara said smiling.
"Good night beautiful. I love you. Mwah" he said kissing the phone "and happy birthday love" he said smiling. Antara threw off the bed sheets and checked the time and the date on her clock. It was February 14th 12:01am.
"Oh shoot, mein toh bhul gaya (I forgot). Thank you Raghu" she said smiling as she tapped her head not believing that she had forgotten. "Happy Valentine's day jaan" she said blushing.
"Happy Valentine's day to you too. Take care and sweet dreams. Be ready at 10am tomorrow. I am picking you up" he said and then hung up the phone before Antara could say anything. She kissed the phone and set it on the table.
"I love you so much Raghu" Antara said blushing and throwing the bed sheet over her head and fell asleep.
*Beep Beep* "Ugh kaun hai (who is it)" Antara mumbled kicking the blanket off of her. *Beep Beep* "Ahhh" Antara mumbled again reaching over the bed to turn off her alarm. It was already 8am and Antara had yet to get ready. Plus she wanted to work on her story a bit before leaving. She quickly got out of bed and head to the washroom to shower and get ready. Antara came out wearing this:
It was already 8:30am and Antara still had time to work on her paper so she immediately went to her computer and continued from where she left off.
"Aye Nikki. I'm so tired" I said walking into the room after showering.
"I know me too. I'm going to go for my shower" she said grabbing her towel and heading into the washroom. *ding dong*
"Aree who is here at this hour" I asked drying my hair and walking over to the door.
"Raghu tum yaha par (you are here)" I asked opening the door to see him there.
"Ha I brought this" he said holding up the back of medicines.
"Oh right" I said "I'll take that. Thank you" reaching over to get the bag from him. I grabbed the bag and noticed the cut on Raghu's right hand it still had dry blood on it.
Flashback
"MachMach what happened to Raghu's hand" I asked taking a bit out of the sandwich.
"Ha who kya hai na Antarai (It's like this) When Raghu was trying to save you he hit his hand on the glass table instead"
"What do you mean by saving me? Instead?" I asked confused.
"When you were knocked out and almost fell there was a glass table next you. But when he was saving you his hand hit the table protecting your head" he said laughing it off
Flashback End
"Come on in" I said taking the bag.
"No. I'm okay, it's late anyway" Raghu said turning to go. I grabbed onto his hand stopping him from leaving.
"Dekho, meri baat mano aur andar aao (Look, just listen to me and come in)" I said showing him in. Raghu walked in and took a seat the dining table. I went to my room and grabbed the first aid box and went back to the dining table and set the box on the table. "Tumara haat do" I asked putting my hand out. He placed his hand on mine and I turned it around. I took the alcohol wipes out of the box and started cleaning his wound.
"Sss" Raghu said closing his eyes. The alcohol was burning a bit. I brought face closer to his wound and blew air on it too cool it down so it wouldn't burn.
"Ab teek hai (is it okay now)?" I asked looking up at him, but noticed that he was just gazing at me. "Ab teek hai?" I asked again. He shook out of his thoughts and nodded his head. I took the ointment and put in on his wound and then took a bandage and wrapped his arm. "Done" I said closing the first aid box closed.
"Thanks" Raghu said standing up "ab mein chalta hoon."
"Okay" I said walking over to the door with him to open it.
"Thanks once again" Raghu said and left. Well that was kind of awkward I thought putting away the first aid box.
"Who was that?" Nikki asked walking out of the shower.
"It was Raghu he came here to drob of the medicine" I said closing the cabinet.
"Yaar this Raghu kid is weird sometimes he is nice and sometimes he can biggest jerk ever. What is his problem?" I asked NIkki hoping she would know the answer.
"Like I said before no one really knows what is up with this Raghu guy, but what ever it is just stay away" she said climbing into her bed.
"I wish I could, but for some reason something keeps attracting me to him and I honestly have no idea what it is" I said climbing into bed
"Did you say something?" Nikki asked turning around.
"Kuch nai (nothing). Good night" I said turning off the light.
"Good night babes" she said covering herself with her blanket.
*Ding Dong*
"Ahh he must be here" Antara said taking off her glasses and saving her document. She shut down her computer and checked herself in the mirror one last time before getting the door. "Perfect" she said fixing her hair a bit and touching up her make up. She went outside her room and opened the front door.
"Wow" Raghu said standing there with flowers and a box of chocolate. Antara stood there blushing and she twisted the ends of her dupatta in her fingers.
"Thanks" Antara said moving to the side to let Raghu in.
"Nikki you look beautiful" Raghu said walking right past Antara and stood in front of Nikki who was wearing her pajamas and her hair all messed up. Antara turned around and looked at Raghu with anger.
"Thanks Raghu" she said smiling and walking to the kitchen in order to make herself a cup of coffee.
"Raghu" Antara said walking up to him.
"Oh hi there Antara" Raghu said turning to Antara and giving her the flowers and the box of chocolates. "Happy birthday babe" he said bringing Antara close and kissing her on the cheek as Antara was looking at the flowers.
"Raghu you didn't even complement me" Antara said pushing him away. "Instead you complemented Nikki and she is wearing pajamas" she said walking over to the kitchen and putting the flowers into a vase.
"Sorry babes, Nikki was just looking so hot" Raghu said winking at Nikki knowing this would piss off Antara.
"Fine than you know what go on a date with Nikki than" Antara said placing the vase on the dining table and walking into her room closing the door behind her.
"You sure did it now" Nikki said grabbing her cup of coffee and heading into her room. Raghu walked up to Antara's room and slowly opened the door.
"Antara" he said walking in and seeing her on her computer again. "Antara" he said all sweetly walking up behind her.
"Raghu you havent left yet?" she asked typing furiously.
"Antara I can't go on a date without my date" Raghu said spinning Antara's chair towards him.
"Nikki is in the other room than" Antara said spinning her chair back to face her computer screen.
"Yaar you know I was joking" Raghu said spinning her again.
"Yeah whatever" Antara said spinning her chair once again. She once again began to type again when she felt something cold on her neck. She brought her hand up t her neck and felt around. She looked down at her neck and saw a heart shaped pendant with a diamond in the middle. She turned around and looked at Raghu.
"I don't know what to say? It's beautiful" she said tearing up a bit as she gazed at the pendant.
"Not as beautiful as you though" he said making her stand as he gazed at her. "That wow was for you Antara. I promise. I was just teasing you" he said holding onto his ears "I'm sorry"
"I know" she said taking his hand away from his ears and holding onto them with both her hands. "Thank you for this" she said leaning in and kissing him on the cheek.
"Wah. Maybe I should give you gifts more often so I could get some kis.." but before Raghu could finish his sentence his lips were sealed with that of Antaras. She moved her hands from his hands and slowyl wrapped them around his neck as he brought his hands onto her hips bringing her closer to him. A sudden jolt of electricity ran through Antara's body as her hands started caressing Raghu's hair and his hands caressed her waist. As they kept kissing things just got intensified. Raghu probed Antara to let him in, but she wouldn't budge. She only allowed her lips to touch his and nothing else. Raghu frustrated yet amused at this fact pinced her waist and Antara gasped opening her mouth and allowing Raghu to enter. As they continued to kiss the world around them seem to disappear until they heard something.
"Uh-um" Nikki said standing at the door. "Uh-um you guys aren't alone" she said once again as Antara and Raghu continued to kiss. "GUYS" she screamed loud enough that it broke them apart. Antara quickly stepped back and started blushing.
"Yaar Nikki just because you don't get some doesn't mean you have to ruin mine and Antara's moment" Raghu said smirking and pulling Antara closer to him.
"Dat" Antara said hitting him on his arm.
"Yaar what was that for?" Raghu said pulling her even closer.
"Well forget you Raghu! Antara happy birthday once again! I 'll celebrate your birthday with you tomorrow since you have a date with this duffer! I'm going out with MY BOYFRIEND" Nikki said with a lot of emphasis on 'my boyfriend' "Bye guys catch you later" she said heading out the door.
"Raghu why you always so mean to her?" Antara asked looking at him.
"Saali hai isliye (Your sister –friend- that's why)" Raghu said laughing. "Okay let's go I have a lot planned today!"
"Tum bhi na (You)! Okay let's go" Antara said grabbing her bag and heading out the door hand in hand with Raghu. Antara locked the door behind her and they both headed to the elevator. Raghu clicked the down button. While waiting they heard a little girl shouting "Didi (sister)." Antara turned around to notice her neighbor's kid coming out from the room.
"Hi Sapna!" Antara said letting go of Raghu's hand and giving Sapna a tight hug.
"Didi happy birthday" she said bring Antara closer to her and kissing her on the cheek. Antara returned the kiss and said thank you. Sapna was called back into the room and the elevator came up. Both Antara and Raghu walked into the empty elevator and Raghu hit the first floor button.
"Raghu where are we going" Antara said turning to him and letting go of his hand. Raghu immediately turned towards her and started walking closer. Antara was so confused as to what was happening and so she kept backing up until she was cornered by him. She quickly closed her eyes as she felt his breath on her face. Raghu moved up to her ear and whispered something.
"To a hotel" Raghu whispered in her ear and smirked when he noticed her body becoming tensed. Raghu moved Antara's hair from her neck and planted a kiss on the groove of her neck.
"Raghu" she moaned tightening up a bit more. Raghu trailed the kisses all the way up to her ear and whispered again
"It's a surprise" he whispered taking out a piece of black cloth and blind folding her. Antara relaxed knowing that the hotel was a joke. At least she was hoping it was joke.
"What's this for" Antara said touching the blindfold.
"No don't take it off" Raghu said removing her hand from the blindfold. "It won't be a surprise if you know where we are going" Raghu said moving away from her and holding on to her hand again. Elevator finally reached the first floor. "Just hold on to me" he said squeezing her hand and leading her out of the elevator and the apartment building. The got to the car and he opened the door for her and sat her down in the passenger seat. He got in the car and buckled him and Antara up. "Ready?" he asked looking at Antara.
"I guess I mean I can't see anything" Antara said chuckling. Raghu chuckled along with her and held her hand and kissed it. "Thank you Raghu" she said
"For what? The day hasn't even started" he said.
"For being a part of my life" she said directing him to come closer with her finger. She puckered up her lips and he couldn't help but smile. He gave her a quick kiss and they were on their way.
