@Amni375 and Ashi22 - thanks for agreeing.
@Amlu - Yes, time for a break. Watching recorded episodes on Friday by FF-ing is a good option. Or like Paddy said, will watch the episodes where Sandy looks lovely, or there is cute SurYa moment, or some James Bond type chases by Sandy😉

@Desdemona - I also stopped a few times out of frustration, but I like Sandy's character in general and keep back coming. Honestly, not worth it.

@Shubhadask - I agree, just to win a 'tit for tat' battle, Bhabo started the drama of the maxis to humiliate Daisa and her DIL; but DABH CVs take great pleasure in portraying these pettinesses as Bhabo's victory.

@walquest - Well the CVs don't care. They get TRPs from their target audience, but that does not mean that we should keep quiet about the crap they show.

Hi Liebe, thanx for agreeing with me.
Before some Bhabo or Emily fan jumps on you let me clarify that Emily was allowed to eat fruits and juices. 😊

Uma and Hema, this is why I said Sandy's character is so unstable (needs to be treated) . She circled the date, she lives in the middle of a street that is preparing for Teej, she has her door open to the street all the time, and STILL, she forgot? No, this is insanity.

Yesterday she swung back to shades of old Sandhya. Steeling herself to tell the truth and admit her mistake no matter what. So I would say the real issue is the way this character is written. I like to catch her when she's being all brave and fearless in the midst of all this chaos. But this pursuit of the Sandy I liked is a hit and miss business these days.

Initially when they showed about her buying Samaosa, I thought, she will realise it (about Teej) during then like some one will shout about teej or for that matter the canteenwala asking about have you not kept fast madam. Instead she saw the apple in her bag and didn't eat the samosa, Then came the precap of her eating roti, I thought either mehandi girl will come over or may be chotu will come to fetch something and he will mention about it.
May be the Cvs wanted to show the Sandya whodoesn't hide things when it comes to her, even if she might be branded as WRONG, CARELESS, STUPID ETC. She knew that she will be blamed for the misfortune of Suraj's health etc but still she didn't bother to hide teh secret.
May be the CVs will make Bhabo chew over the issue of how Emily lied on other occassions where as Sandya hide their fault and put herself in front to have Bhabo's wrath and now how she opened up on her fault openly in front of the entire neighbhorhood, despite knowing the consequences of teh result. It was clearly mentioned by Chavvi's mother in law. So if Bhabo tries to call them back, it will for Sandya's good heartedness and not because she is in need of money for Chavvi's marriage and Emily's beauty parlour.

Does this mean that husbands don't love their wives, because they never fast? And why is it always a woman who must PROVE her love for her husband? Of course this is discrimination.

It struck me that pregnant Emily was shown fasting. Why is DABH promoting something like that? Totally wrong...

Hi Mrs_Ojha,

Of course It does not mean husbands don't love their wives. Happily married women would tell how their husbands show their love in many ways. Fasting need not be the only way of showing love. In DABH, Suraj is shown communicating his love to Sandhya in many ways without fasting and Sandhya also showed her love without fasting. If there were vrats where there is a practice of husbands fasting for the well being of wives, perhaps they would do it also.

Women always need not prove their love. In fact, nobody needs to PROVE their love. A wife who loves her husband and believes in the vrat, fasts willingly with all her heart, not to PROVE her love. I interpreted from DABH that Sandhya wanted to do such fast with such love and that's why she felt let down at herself. That's what I meant when I wrote "IMO it signifies love".

Of course there are always exceptions like a girl doesnot believe in vrat itself but fasts out of compulsion. In DABH Chavi is shown complaining to Bhabho about her hunger as she was fasting more out of compulsion than love. I would rather follow Sandhya's path than Chavi's.

Gender bias and discrimination are sensitive subjects and I knew not many will see eye to eye on this, that's why I refrained from elaborating in my earlier post. But perhaps I shoudn't have even have made the point at all. I will be more careful next time...
Many traditions are easy to misunderstood by their very nature and practice and also because one needs to have aquaintence with the subject. Otherwise people may get offended and that's why I sought unconditional forgiveness of all in my post. Once again, please forgive me if I offended anybody.

@ ALL:
By the way I found a bias we could ponder on:
One of the neighbours comes to Rathi home and thanks Emily for making-up her daughter because her marriage got fixed due to her appearance.
I am personally offended by this objectization of a woman. Should a girl be made up and her appearance the main reason for being considered fit for marriage?

There are so many similar wrong things shown as positive in Indian soaps that I am almost happy I won't be watching them anymore from next month (I live in UK and had to resign from Sky TV). I liked DABH because of the fresh topic and because I wanted to know better the culture of Rajastan, but its becoming more and more frustrating for me, I think since the Maasa village (lack of justice to Kajri), then sudden religious conversion of Emily and a few other things 'showing women their secondary place in the society' - I just can't take this anymore 😒. I can't accept the fact that injustice and discrimination are showed as natural, correct and right things. The show is becoming regressive instead of progressive, maybe as Uma aunty mentioned ealier, to appease the village viewers - it's so sad.

this is a great topic for discussion, you should have created a separate thread for this. I too hate this objectization...unfortunately, this is the reality in arranged marriages even in cities. Most guys only go for looks, here at my place most guys wants a wife like asin, trisha, deepika and katrina when none of them look like rk, ak, ajith or madhavan 😆
