A faint glimmer of hope. At last! who knows.
Hope the daughter in law (the eldest) ignites again and does what she was good at doing...(though emotional blackmailing from her evil plotting in laws-who go on plotting her destruction and doom, do not succed)...

Thank you to the original writer of this thread for so beautifully and succinctly analyzing the situation. You are a brilliant writer and your ideas have stimulated a few other very well written posts here.

Frankly I stopped watching DABH a couple of weeks ago, and in fact find this thread more interesting than the show is now. It seems the great promise and potential the show started off with has been ruined. It is neither educational in a social context nor entertaining. It is possible to be both, there have been moments of that before on this show.

For a station that promotes new thinking, this show displays a lot of backward thinking. A few have said that it is better than others. I don't quite agree. There are other shows that show how older generations gradually adapt to newer fairer ideas and ideals, without compromising their sense of rightness.

I hope DABH gets back on track and starts to resolve some of those issues that do set bad examples.

Dear friends,

Have been following the posts on this thread more often than actually watching the serial (unfortunately of late it has taken extremely annoying turns. It seems to be bent on challenging the intelligence of the viewers).

The three siblings are an actual waste (as if the viewers did not know this), so we know that they are selfish wastrels, so do not waste time by showing them as since a long time (did some one mention) they ought to have drifted into oblivion.

The daughter in laws, the less they show them the better is shall be. One is an abos**te idiot (wonder if a censor board exists for TV as it does for films). Her most disgraceful act of baby swapping ought to have been put to rest a few episodes forth.
The other one who really showed some spunk is turning into a delirious, watery (read crocodile) teary jerk. When she got introduced most of us must have heaved a sigh of relief saying that finally there comes one who can change things. Instead she became a slimy wimp.

The mother in law has stooped to levels unimaginable. So shall not waste time on her character as it has degenrated to such an extent that we shall need another sequel to redeem it.

The father in law utters certain words of intelligence which seems to get lost in silence.

Has the serial outlived it's glory?
Do they want it to drag no ends (or wait for something as silly as a second anniversary to rectify certain things).
The majority of the characters out here ought to be in jail but the episodes seem to be glorying criminal behaviour.
Sad that normal people have turned into psycopaths.
A straight forward serial with a lovely message is ruined in labrynths of lies, deception, unethical and antiscocial humdrum.

You should consider writing as a career. You are so much fun to read, full of wit and as ever excellent analysis and content. I swear this is really more entertaining that the silly show. Thank you for bringing a huge smile to my face!

Am flabbergasted by the turn of torturous events this serail had taken.

Agreed it is fiction, but it is promoting all that is unfair bad and antisocial. The baby competition was disgusting?
What are they trying to portray. Not only disgusting but id void of all ethical and moral values.

Am stunned to what depths the producers can fall to whet the appetites of the audience...

takes or views?

Another thread here sort of explains that the commercial interests of CVs is paramount and hence the need to keep all those negative characters up to mischief. I am paraphrasing but I think this writer was trying to give that as the reason for the delay in showing up these totally immoral and unethical people. I guess the idea is that if everything is so easy for the main couple, the show would end quickly.

Now maybe that is true, however I question whether it is really necessary to drag it to this extent when they are losing viewers. Also it doesn't say that much about their creativity, in which case should they be in this business?! I still feel there are many relevant topics they could take up and dramatize them in an educational as well as entertaining way. They have the perfect vehicle to do it here given the characters of Surya.

If I'm not mistaken, most soaps have 1 negative character or perhaps 2. But here it's a whole slew of them with Emily joining the group. Again there are countless ways they could have used this character in a more enlightened way.

Short and sweet as one would call. Not perpetuating into inanae catacombic lanes of inambiguity...If you permit me to state.

Touch and agree with you cent percent on this one.

True this is a whole jing bang of thieves and thugs. Unethical immoral people hell bent on satisfying their overbloated inflated egoes. A never ending emtional tear jerky crocodile pseudo characters hell bent on testing the perserverence and patience of the ever loosing fidel audience.
