Mayank Anand of Dill Mill Gayye is a creative person and his creativity is not just restricted to acting. The charming actor is also a gifted painter. He has a huge collection of paintings which he plans to exhibit soon. He is even going to New York on 26 July for his painting assignment.
He is a graduate in English writing and theatre performance from a university in Chicago. "I have attended various painting workshops. I also read a lot of books. I travel extensively to explore different facets of painting. I have a collection of sixty paintings," exuded Mayank.
Acting happened to him by chance. Similarly, his decision to become a painter was not pre- planned. "I used to model for Art students in Chicago and that is where I learnt the basics of painting. During this period, I developed a desire for painting," recounted Mayank.
So what is stopping him from holding an exhibition of his art? He answers, "I want to create more paintings and exhibit my best work. Since I am shooting for a daily soap, I don't get much time to paint. But I can assure you that it is going to be this year itself." When asked if he plans to take up painting as a full- fledged career, he said, "I don't know. I don't want to restrict myself to any one particular thing. I had never decided to become an actor. I believe in taking things as they come."
The multi talented Mayank believes in doing one show at a time. He doesn't want to take up any new show as he wants to give hundred percent to Dill Mill Gayye. When not shooting, Mayank simply paints his mind.
