hey asma, I believe you were searching for 'A Perfect Character without any flaws' in Siddhanth Modi and that's why you got upset with his character when he did some wrong things! Yes, I agree he did some wrong things and he did some good things too and he repented for the bad things he did... totally Human.
Ok, let me go through few of your points from my POV.Originally posted by: Perfangel5655
I second this. I like the post because it is long, (which is rare. I usually read short sid bashing comments with bunch of angry faces) and I like that you have taken the time to express your thoughts with us.😊 But it is highly biased. in my opinion so far he has had the best character development.
Sid came in as a spoiled brat and slowly changed his attitude (attitude not himself just the attitude) due to Tamanna. When he met Riddhima she brought out the worst in him. In a way you can say both of them overreacted but both of them were nurturing a broken hurt. Even the little misunderstandings led them to be seriously hateful to each other due to the phase of their life. One can not say this was a copy of Armaan and Riddhima, if that is the case then almost all love stories these days start off with the guy and girl fighting.😕 Are they copied too? How about the girl guy fight that happened before AR? The fans found SR fights refreshing because of the emotions they portrayed. We have never seen so much hate between two perfect strangers. It made us curious. We wanted to see what would happen next.
I won't defend Sid for taking those pictures. He made his mistakes and he learned from them. He hated Riddhima and wanted to teach her a lesson. I am just surprised he could see through the hate and still manage to feel bad for her afterward. That is what we love about Sid. He has so many layers to his character. He seems so normal. How many times do humans make mistake and realize it was so bad and they never repeat it again.
I see you have decided to ignore some great Sid things, as you summarized them in one line. Remember the payal that Sid saved? he put his life in danger for that. He saved Riddhima I get that as saving a human is great, but a payal that's worth nothing to him??? Just because it meant a lot to Riddhima now that's beautiful.
He didn't " NEED TO MARRY" Riddhima. He didn't make a mistake. It was shashank who let Rid go, it was Armaan who left Riddhima, it was Riddhima who went after Armaan and fell ill, he was stuck in this horrible mess even though he had nothing to do with it. Storywise bodyheat was the only thing he could do to save her and that's what he did. He knew Rid will hate him for life but he went ahead and saved her anyways. Imagine if Atul was in the scene. He would've done the same thing. Later on the car accident he didn't need to save her. He didn't need to feel happy about saving the girl who accused him of rape but he did. He pushed her out of the way and got hurt instead. He saved her even after that. He could leave Riddhima and Shashank at their miserable state. After all everyone knew he was innocent. But he chose to marry her. Again he didn't need to marry the girl who was in love with another and almost killed herself billion times but he went ahead and married her.
In the marriage HE ASKED HER FOR NOTHING!!! He didn't say wake up everyday to make me food, work for me, love me or sleep with me, He just didn't want her to be someone she was not. He wanted her to be alive.
After Armaan came back I think his charcater was amazing. he couldn't come to Riddhima and say " hey choose now who do you want?" yet he let her choose. He protected her every step of the way. he finally asked if she was still in love with Armaan when he didn't get an answer he assumed she was and he tried to let her go.
But the divorce woke him up and he realized if Rids didn't want to leave this marriage then why was he trying to kick the woman he loves out of his life. He decided to work things out only to get hurt once again.
I wouldn't say Sid is perfect, he is definitely like a kid at times. But some of the things he does despite being like a kid is amazing. That's what makes Sid. he is immature, stubborn, a brat, spoiled, mean yet when the real test comes he passes with flying colors. Biggest witnesses to that is his wife rid, his FIL shanky , Yuvi and Naina. That's what matters to us. He is very observant, he has a strong heart, he has the power to love. Bonus for Sid fans he is uber sexy when he is angry!!😍
This is called an unbiased character analysis..Even tho you are an AR fan still you have tried to see each character in most humane way possible.I totally loved the analysis ...Originally posted by: honeydew_dmg
hey there!!!
you have summed up the story quiet well!and were right also at places! but all i want to say to ask you is, is there ever a human on this earth thats perfect??? dont we all err? dont we all do things for our own selfish reasons??? same with this guy! if sid were perfect and did everything right, where would there be a problem! we are here talking of not one, but three very complex human characters that have their lives intertwined with one another, not necessarily but choice... all three of them have erred at various points in their lives...
riddhima was no angel when she put armaan thro hell only thanks to her insecurity and no faith in relationships? at that point in time what was Armaan's fault?
and when riddhima plays this prank on armaan about this guy trying to rape her, was it justified on Armaan's part of make a back door entry into her house and actually show her what a rape is all about?
similarly is the case with sid!
we all act according to circumstances... sid, knows, and faces the most hard hitting truth of his life each day! he is married to a woman, he knows doesnt love him for sure- but when he see's her making an effort to make their marriage work, he doesnt want to let go either! it is basic human tendency!
just the way even armaan thought, he could come back and claim his lady love after 9 months of abandoning her for whatever reasons, even sid, feels he has every right over this woman he has married but he cant help but love her...
i have loved both Armaan and Sid, and i dont want to take sides, but, i feel, at the end of the day, DMG is one show, that dares to show the real shades of human character time and again, i am not talking about sid sitting like a door mat watching his wife getting married to another man! i am talking about his helpless state of mind! sometimes men are like that, they want women to take the initiative, what if he walks up to riddhima and exercises his rights over her! he is too scared of rejection! ditto with riddhima, she wants to give her marriage a fair chance, but is too scared to tell her husband, though she loves another man so much, she doesnt mind doing all that it takes to make the relationship work! she got married due to societal pressure! but for whom? she did it for her own parents! she didnt think twice before she accused him of rape in public? she never hesitated to go find her love against all odds!! but when she decided to end her life, that was a phase of her life, where she had given up on everything, when she got a new lease of her life back, she felt, she owed it to the man who saved her and wanted to give her another life!!! and yes, he didnt have to do her the favor of marrying her! since you yourself pointed out how sid was carefree and non-serious, marriage was a huge deal for him, may be he didnt even realise what he was getting into when he said that, it was an act of impulse, why he turned cruel was also justified! no one wants to take the burden of someone else's death! it is too much for anyone to handle...yeah he took it to another level, but it showed how he was stuck in his place trying to make something work
though i love AR love story, i love the maturity in the SR relationship! and love is a very personal and individual feeling, slotting it under 1st, 2nd or third in my opinion is meaningless, as love is something thats born from inside the heart and you can love anyone, only the form of expression differs!!
