@ Gagan: I understand what you are saying...But the fact is, some members, and I've seen this myself, NEVER learn..they continue to talk about actors IRRELEVANT to their AT in their AT's..and its repeatedly the same couple of members..that people end up reporting!

However, I do agree with the part of you monitoring the AT's for two weeks as that seems like the best option atm...

Honestly I think its UNFAIR if the two AT's relevant to the show atm, get moved..what about new members that would want to come to DMG forum to join those AT's but dont see them here..? thats called OUTCAST :) I dont find that fair at all!

All im gonna ask for is moderation..and HOPEFULLY each member takes responsibility for their actions!

firstly I'd like to say -- Gagan I can only imagine how bad the situation must be for you to have to bring it up like this ... I know how much you wanted to keep the appreciation threads in the forum when a situation like this arose the first time ... so I can only imagine how horrible it must be now for you to want to do this ...

In my humble opinion ... you should wait a bit before reaching a final conclusion and that's why I liked your idea of giving if a week or two to see if this warning has the desired effect ...

As you can imagine from my past reactions to the moving of ATs, I am not in favour of moving any thread ...

But I don't think what you and the Dev team are going through is fair either ...

I know that there are Dev team members who themselves are members of these ATs and I know that they do their best to maintain the rules of the threads .... and I know that there are specific members who open the threads once the previous one is done ...

but maybe that isn't enough ...... maybe each thread needs to have members specifically designated for the purpose of monitoring the threads ... for example, each thread would have a group of people (who have a clean record as far as warnings go) from within its members who will help monitor the thread when they are available .... i mean let's say that i was available on fridays from 9-12am est to watch a specific thread that I'm a member of .... I would be assigned that time and it would be my responsibility to make sure no rules were broken at that time (and all those in the same position would be specifically mentioned in a post at the beginning of the thread and each would have a backup monitor since this is afterall a volunteer position and things are bound to come up) ... let's say that a rule was broken and despite being online I didn't try to stop it (or was even a part of it) ... then the issue would go to the Dev team members of the thread (viewbies etc) .... if this happened maybe on three separate occasions then the matter would call for stricter action regarding the whole AT by the moderators or channel moderators ....... but if a rule was broken and for some reason one of the monitors was not there at all ..... then the action would be against the individuals in question and not the entire AT

I know there are flaws with my suggestion but it is just a suggestion and I'm sure others could revise it to make it work better

But before anything else .... every member needs to remember that once you enter an AT .... you should leave everything related to FB fights, other appreciation thread activities, private pm issues, disagreements in other discussion threads, and anything else behind .... obviously much of the animosity between members that leads to these problems isn't just restricted to activities in the ATs themselves but rather a mixture of past friendly or unfriendly equations, private pm exchanges, FB encounters, msn chats, chat club discussions, and much, much more ..... but every member needs to realize that those things should be left outside of the ATs in order to maintain forum decorum .... we should realize that the Dev Team is not being paid to clean up our mess and nor is it made up of people with this as their only job in the world .... they are there but as an individual shouldn't we all take responsibility for our own actions and take a moment to think of the actual human beings you interact with everyday that are left hurt or left with a thousand complaints to deal with and not make them seem worthless in front of fictional characters and actors we may admire from afar but don't interact with on a daily basis ...😳

that's just my two cents .... well actually looking at the length .... it is more like a couple of dollars😆

Hey Gags :)
Well sis I think the problematics Appreciation Threads should get a strict warning (like temporary closing them...) closing them totally or moving them won't be fair for few loyal fans who are maybe trying their best to stop others to bash and all ... Its sad, just coz of few members the whole AT's fans will pay the price !
Take care.

Only the problematic ATs which fail to follow the rules & bash other actors , fangroups , discuss actor's personal life , use sacrastic tone of speech shud be attended to & closed down.

I really feel bad for the Dev Team of this forum. Especially the situation you have to deal with at the moment..
I don't know if moving the AT's will help, cause those who are bashing will bash even after their AT's been moved too. Maybe a closure for a few days/weeks could work?
And also, I don't think it's fair to close all AT's, no matter if that couple isn't a part of the show anymore. The AT threads were originally made for a couple in DMG, and the talks will therefor be related to the characters who were a part of DMG. So as long as the show's still on, all the AT's have an equal right to be in this forum :)
I would try closing the threads who continue bashing for a period of time to see if that works! And if every regular member of all the AT's could try the talks related, I don't think new members would try to break the guidelines..

well i feel that not all members are doing that, so closing it down wouldn't be nice. I haven't noticed it in the SidMa AT, but yeah u might have, so i guess those members need to be warned instead of closing down the whole AT!

Moving AT's to the CC section wont be a good idea. It will be all the more trouble for the moderators there. Just monitor the problematic ones which keep breaking the rules, and if warnings don't work, then close them down.
