Vrish. Yes, he took off his shoes. Sorry it wasn't clear. He was wearing leather boots. They had all these crazy shots of his outfit, and also as he took off his boots. He seemed to be proud of himself and seeing it as a big deal.

He then realizes about his scepter, and has a 'conversation' with the temple consisting of gestures, and goes in with the scepter.

Of course Sia wouldn't believe him. That's part of what's so funny about his scenes. He has very little clue. He seems so proud of himself and happy. 😆
