Television is currently in its booming and experimenting stage. During this stage, the makers are trying to test and try new things. kissing on television which was once a daunting topic to discuss, now has become a part and parcel in recent times.

It was all started by Ekta Kapoor's Bade Acche Lagte Hain wherein for the first time on Indian TV the lead characters lip-locked on prime time. Later on, it became quite a trend. While some actors are comfortable doing it, the others aren't.

TV actress Smiriti Kalra who is currently seen in Star Plus' Dil Sambhal Ja Zara has refused to kiss on screen. According to our information, a track in the matured love drama demanded a kissing scene between the two characters Ahana and Rehan played by Smiriti Kalra and Aashim Gulati respectively. However, a source reveals that Smiriti put her foot down and refrained to kiss on screen. The makers understanding her point didn't force her to do the sequence.

The talented and beautiful artist Smiriti best known for her character in Suvreen Guggal is quite particular about her philosophy and morals. "There's nothing of that sorts happening. I wasn't comfortable doing a scene, so there is no smooch sequence happening, Smiriti shared when TellyChakkar contacted her. She further added, "If I would have kissed him on television, everyone would have gone berserk and started writing about it which is something I'm not looking forward to.

Smiriti earlier in an interview with TellyChakkar shared that it is not easy for her to do intimate scenes on screen since she is a shy girl in real.

what she says is absolutely right
it's every actors personal choices ..to kiss or not...

intimacy is not smooching

it's easy for male actors but same is not applicable for female actors

here i totally get her. People are already having problems with the way her character dresses and her intimate scenes with sanjay and this kissing scene will only add fuel to the fire. Also indian media has a very bad habit of over exaggerating these kind of scenes. Even channel and makers promote it like crazy. They even over promote fake kisses😕. One of the reasons i still like kaisi yeh yaariya is because they never promoted kissing, bikini scenes or intimate scenes. They showed as a part of the story and was shot quite well which is the reason why it wasnt awkward to watch.

On the bright side seems like rehaana happening but with the show ending dont know how its gonna be like.

About intimate scenes it is still a bit awkward for star plus as it says it is a family channel and most of the shows r saas bahu so everyone watches this it's a good decision because well with family it becomes awkward to watch these types of scenes

star plus kind of shows bold scenes after 10. I dont think people watched dslz with family at 10:30. If any family turn on tv at 10:3p they most probably will be watching big boss which is an extremely vulgur show.
Star plus showed kissing senes on p.o.w and maryaada both aired at 10:30.
I dobt get indian mentality. Its fine to watch big boss were people abuse each other and is filled with vulgarity but has a problem with intimate scenes on fictional dramas.
A kissing scene is less awkard or hot than watching te other kind of intimate scenes shown on tv. There will be a 3-4 min romantic song playing in thw bg with female lead wearing a sensuous shiffon saree and hero pulling the dhori of her blouse. These kind of scenea are wa too intimate than kissing scenes.

Well I agree but what I'm trying to say is that star plus is not the only channel there r other channels in other languages as well the old generation watch them and we all know that they're kind of in love with star plus so they just try to watch what's happening there...then they also starts watching everything it's very common here
I was talking about that
And I'm not an Indian so I don't about them but here the older people watch some gharelu drama at night and when we go to watch something it is like "oh it's star plus let's see" type of thing
And in Naamkaran which is telecast on 9:30 here they showed some romantic scenes btw ayesha ana I don't remember the male lead's name. There was so much awkwardness then...
Aisa lagta hay star plus koi akele dekh hi nahi sakta...

What's funny about Indian TV is that they show intimate scenes like kissing on the neck or shoulders or even on the belly but have a huge problem about kissing on the lips 😆
As a Kpop fan I can say that korea is also conservative but kdramas have lip locks or atleast pecks and same goes to Chinese and Japanese dramas too
But anyway I never expect any real kisses on Indian TV so I'm not really bothered by this news but this means that rehaana will get intimate?

ibahve noticed that too. In indian dramas showing intimate scenes are fine but not liplock but in asian dramas liplock ia fine but not intimate scenes😆. They mostly dont do kissinf ob the neck or anything. Liplocks have more emotions and less hotness whereas indian intimate scenes are less emtional more sensuous. I find liplocks less awkward.
