He does the same thing with Saroj. He comes home, all lose. When he sees saroj he quickly puts himself in control. The reason Saroj knew he drank is because she smelled the alcohol on him.

As for his not thinking before he spoke, he also didn't think before called the house at the Police Station. And didn't really think about how they'll make it back home on time.

And Saroj. Of course she does this. I'm not even going to bother. All I can say is, that would be so suffocating for me.
