Well Lizzy let me just by saying is so good to see you 🤗

I completely agree with you that DP is a total surprise package for me too. It's so sad that people don't know what they're missing by not watching this show. This serial is more realistic and people aren't even watching but then want to call it a flop or saas-bhau. The want something new then want it come they don't watch. DP has the whole great ensemble cast, with awesome CV team from directors and writing team who are dame good job in showing good balance with all characters wish isn't easy.

I don't know what will happen tomorrow but I know am enjoying this show.

I would surely first blame for not getting TRP is the channel and another one is competitive time slot and people do not want to miss their show which they been watching for three years. Some shows there are nothing to show they are just showing routine celebration of all holidays but it is on good channel so it is still getting high TRP.

I do not worry at all. I am enjoying every episodes of DP and will enjoy it still it last.

Raniben! 🤗What a relief not to call you Pyar-Ishq anymore 😆
The root problem I think was that the concept was described such that it looked a whole lot like another 'adarsh bahu' serial really...remember how early on, they brought in the Gandhi similarities, then played it down to focus more on Kastur being the devoted wife? While in itself that's a good thing, the way the concept was promoted felt really deja vu. Also given the fact that there wasn't much promotion beyond the articles about the social change element, it would be tough for even us fans to see anything different about it from the beginning.
I remember a week or two after the serial started, a fellow-serial watcher claimed to have watched an episode or two and claimed he hated it because it was like 'all the others, the same spoilt brat and the drooling subservient wife' (ironically...Kastur was pretty much single then and Mohan hadn't even made an appearance yet! 😆). The show faithfully played up to that to ensure that they created a firm foundation for the core concept of the serial itself, and given the channel and the competitive time slot, I guess it must have gotten a little tough to catch up, even though DP has a lot more meat to its story than some really successful soaps out there!

You make a valid point here about the way was promoted especially thse articles. I also agree DP is way better then those other shows.

The article from ex head of programing Saurabh Tewari which was like a nail in the coffin didn't help either. I was watching DP on YT recently and the viewing #s increased pluse there is so many comments about how people are loving the show cause is more realistic.

The crazy thing is other shows are also struggling on other popular channels like Sony but the only difference is there trp may be less then 1.0 but it is making the chart.

I love DP. It's actually given me faith in Hindi serials again. I honestly didn't think I could get into another one after Gulaal. I didn't think I would find something.

I watched the first episode the day it aired and was impressed with the opening. The first episode itself over did the the whole "let's have someone diss gujju culture, and then Kastur make a big grand speech with everyone forming a circle." I rolled my eyes..

But I let that part go. There was something there that made me think, give it a chance. And then I read all the pre-release statements and such. While some of the PR made me want to bash my head, the others made me say to give it a chance.

I do think they lagged a bit and I lost some interest, but I guess the show was still finding the footing and also they needed to establish everything. It wouldn't have been so bad if we didn't have Kastur running around and dreaming of Mohan, and then all the talk about 'Dharampatni.'

But this show has gotten better as it's gone along. It definitely picked up with that 'date' episode. Despite the issues with the direction with fight episode after that, I feel like the show has slowly and consistently gotten better in pretty much all areas.

I wish Imagine would at least maintain their website and youtube channel properly. It may not garner them trps but almost every other channel other than Zee makes available the full episodes online. It's going to get more people to watch, and at least it will be watched on their official channel. Plus the more people watch, the more word of mouth and buzz it will get, even if on the internet.
