[Chapter 7]

[Mohan]

I headed towards the parking lot, my car was there – I was really happy to see it, but it had a ticket on it. I went back to the motel to see if she was ready.

- "Are you done?" I said, running my fingers through my hair. I really had to get this whole thing over with, and just get the money. This was turning out way more complicated then I'd ever expected. She was back from the restroom – finally, but it was kind of obvious she's been crying. I felt guilty. I just stared straight ahead, trying to push down the uncomfortable feeling, as she opened the car door and got in.

"Where do you want to make the call" I asked, not looking at her at first, but my gaze couldn't help but fall onto her face when she stayed silent – something she usually didn't do. Immediately, I drew a breath in shock. She looked pretty, even after crying. Her red lips were full and parted slightly, her eyelashes tick and dark – so long that when she looked down they brushed against her cheek – and her eyes. Her beautiful, dark brown eyes that saw the world in an innocent, naive way that eluded me.

"What" she asked, suddenly self-conscious. She wiped her mouth against her sleeve, frowning.

"Have I got food on my face." I couldn't help but smile. She had to be the only girl who thought that when they caught a guy looking at them.

"Yeah" I said. She did have some muffin crumbs on her face. She wiped her face with the back of her wrist.

"Did I get it" She asked, staring at me with wide eyes.

"No" I said, sighing and reaching over. "It's on the other cheek."

I brushed my hand against her face, stroking her soft skin with my finger. Then I suddenly realized what I was doing.

"I'm sorry", I said jumping away. "I'm sorry I-"

"It's alright," Kastur replied, biting her lip, as her cheeks flushed red.

An awkward silence filled the car. I pushed down the throttle, gently pressed my foot down on the pedal. We drove. I didn't know where we were going – not yet. Kastur was still blushing, and couldn't make an eye-contact with me – a first. Maybe she was…?

There was another gas station ahead, and I pulled over. She finally looked up at me.

"Are you hungry" I asked, smiling.

"Finally!"

[Kastur]

I chomped on my cucumber and tomato sandwich, and eyed Mohan as he went to the pay phone, with my "Dads" number. Ha, I bet he'll have a real conversation with Joe, the guy who answered China place's take-out line.

"KASTUR!" Mohan yelled, coming back. He looked kind of pissed, and was waving around the paper I'd written my dad's number on. "what the hell is this?"

I finished the rest sandwich, and looked at him, my eyes widening innocently.

"What?".

"That's not your dads bloody number" He yelled "Give it to me"

I bit my lip, trying to look clueless.

"I… gave his number, why are you yelling at me?"

"Look, Kastur" Mohan said, bringing his gun out. "Tell me right now. Tell me, or I'll shoot you in the head"

I sighed, and relaxed into the chair, reaching into the pocket to get the emergency chocolate bar. I ripped off the wrapper, bit into the tap, watching his face carefully. He wasn't giving up with the whole "scare Kastur" thing.

He pressed the gun right into my temple, and pulled out the safety.

He wasn't going to do it… he couldn't do it. I believed in him … Wait a second. OH MY GOD!

"You gun is dripping water on my face," I said biting another chunk of the chocolate bar. It'd melted a little in my pocket, but it was still good. "Could you point it away, please."

Mohan finally dropped the act, and pushed the gun back into his pocket, looking kind of ashamed of himself.

"If you were going to threaten me with a water pistol, you could at least have emptied the barrel. That's just embarrassing, you know for you."

"Could you at least pretended to be scared? It hurts my ego"

I'd finished the chocolate bar, and was licking the wrapper ( okay, sounds, but tell me that you don't do it as well) .

"I have to admit, you were an amazing actor. But I have the same water pistol at home. You could at least have gotten a real gun with no bullets in, or something".

He frowned, and turned away.

"What's your dad's number" he finally asked. "We both need to get this over with. Don't you want to go home?"

No

"But the thing is, I really don't really know his number. The only number I've bothered to memorize is the number I just gave you. The number to the Chinese place".

"Figures," he muttered to himself. Then, louder, "how did you contact your dad ".

"I had his number on my cell. Which you made me trash when you kidnapped me"

His shoulders drooped, and for a second, I felt bad for the guy.

"You're meant to be the kidnapper. Why the hell didn't you do any research?"

He grimaced.

[Chapter 8]

"Look," I said it's getting kind of dark. "Can't we go back to the hotel, and sort it out tomorrow? I'm pretty sure we could get his contact details on the internet somewhere". He nodded, and climbed back into the car, shifting uncomfortably. Then he reached down to pat at seat.

"Why are there so many crumbs on my seat?" He asked, glaring at me.

"The wind.. blew some crumbs'on to.. er, your seat."

"Really? I was thing you put the crust from your sandwich on my seat. That would explain the bread I'm sitting on."

"No. That was the wind as well".

"So the wind left sandwich crusts on my seat?".

"Uh-uh"

He looked like he was about to hit me for a second ' then he did the most surprising thing ' he laughed.

"What's so funny" I asked, when the laughter had gone on for way too long to be considered normal. "Hey! Stop laughing. What the hell is so funny?". He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, and calm down.

"Nothing." He told me, giving me a big smile that made my heart thump harder.

"Alright then," I muttered, turning away to hide my blush. What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I blushing so much? Crap! I glanced back at him, and he was still looking at me, smiling, making me blush some more.

The moment was broken by the nee-naaw-nee-naaw of the police siren. Slowly, we both turned around. I had no idea what was going on, but I was pretty sure the police were after us. Well, Mohan.

"Drive." I yelled, and Mohan complied, slamming his foot down on the pedal. We were gone.

"This is quite fun," I said, trying to find the pack of Oreos I'd hidden in the boot compartment. "Oh look, a helicopter." I pointed at the helicopter that seemed to be joining the police in the high-speed car chase.

"How did they find us?". Mohan screamed, pushing even harder on the gas pedal, as hard as he dared to go without crashing. And dying.

"Maybe when you called the take-out place. They can trace calls, you know. What exactly did you say to Joe? Did you mention the fact that you kidnapped me?"

"I don't know!, I can't remember!" But the look on his face said, "Yes"

"well there you go."

"How the hell are you so calm?!" he yelled over the helicopter blade noises, swerving to overtake a big truck. We had to be going at least 140 right now. The truck honked and the guys yelled.

"It's not me that they want to arrest" I pointed out. Damn. Where were my Oreos? I looked up at the helicopter, which was loud, but keeping a safe distance. They had a camera. "Oh, look. They're filming us. I think we're going to be on the news" Mohan swore.

"Do something about them!" he yelled, trying to keep us on the road ( and alive). We went around a really tight bend, and I smashed against the door.

"Crap!!" I winced, rubbing my arm. " You want me to do something about them" Fine.

I rolled down the window, and yelled at the helicopter two words lovely, rich girl was never meant to say, ever. Especially on national television.

"f**k Off!!" I yelled, leaning out the window. In case I wasn't clear enough, or my voice had been whipped away by the wind, I used one of my fingers to demonstrate the sign that same thing. My hair whipped around my face, and wind rushed against my skin, and so I only stayed in that pose for a few seconds, just to make sure the camera filmed it right, before I drew back in, and rolled up the window.

Ha. That should ruin my dad's whole story about I was kidnapped.

I looked at Mohan, who wasn't really concentrating on the driving now, but staring at me.

Wow" he said, looking at me. "That was so cool"

"Eyes on the road!!"

"Shit Sorry"

We'd gotten away, finally. Just as our gas tank was empty, and we were about to stop, we went into a single-lane tunnel, and then swerved our into a field, the car crashing badly into a tree, losing them in the whole single-lane tunnel confusion. We were fine, because of the air bags, but ouchie. I was going to have one hell of a bruise. The place where I'd banged against my seatbelt was killing me already.

I opened the car door, and fell off. Mohan got out as well, wincing. The car window had smashed, and some glass had cut him. There was a gash, right over his eyebrow. Though it was kind of small, the cut looked deep ' it might need stitches. It would at least scar. I walked to the front of the car, inspecting the damage. The bumper was all busted up. There was no way we could drive it now.

"What are we meant to do" Mohan asked, breaking the silence, clearly panicking. He was obviously the kind of guy who did not do well under pressure. Kidnapper was probably the worst career choice for him, then. The only worse job than kidnapper, for him, would be Assassin. (He'd already proved that he was completely useless with weapons. I mean come on?! Water gun? A three year old could do better)

So why, at the same time, am I finding him totally cute?

"We go hiding, of course. We are now master villains." I said trying to push down these stupid thoughts.

He raised his eyebrows, and then winced when the cut stretched.

"Master villains?"

"Yes, 'master villains'. I've kind of always wanted to say that"

"Right" he said, smirking at me, in a cute-but-teasing-way that made my heart thump. Damn it.

"Expect we wouldn't be master villains, if you didn't swear at the cops"

"You're the one who told me to do it!"

"Sure, sure."

"shut up, " I said, annoyed. He ignored me.

"So where you want to go hide?"

I turned away to hide my blush, and so his cute-ness wouldn't distract me. Because, believe me, it was really distracting.

"hotels are out now" I said.

"so motel?"

"No they'll expect that as well. You know how car chases are always on televisions. Well, every person in India will probably know our faces by now"

"'.Car?"

I gave him some time to see that our car was not very big. No way would we both be able to sleep in it. Not comfortably, anyway. Also, the bumper was completely wrecked, and the windows were trashed. I'd only gotten a minor cut on my finger, but Mohan's cut was way worse. If we attempted to go back in there, we'll probably be lacerated a couple dozen more times.

"Why don't you come up with an idea" Mohan yelled, looking annoyed.

"Well" I said, picked at my nail. I really needed a manicure. I had a load of grit under my nails, from the whole crashing-into-a-tree-and-having-to-drag-myself-out thing. Eurgh. How did Mohan not get annoyed? Maybe it was just me. Maybe I was a clean freak. "I was just thinking we could, you know, break into an empty house or something. Since you kidnapped me, it really doesn't matter if we have breaking and entering on our rap sheet, now would it?"

He looked at me.

"You're secretly enjoying this, aren't you?"

I smirked back at him. " A little bit, yeah"

[Mohan]

How the hell were we meant to know which houses were empty?

I asked Kastur, but she just smiled, and turned away. I bet she thought she looked all-knowing, but she just looked like she had some sort of gum disease. I grinned a little bit too, but stopped when I realized I probably looked like some stupid idiot. But it was obvious, she had no idea, either. Somehow we'd gotten off the road and ended up in a field. (my fault. I'm a bad driver. But I'd never admit that), and we hadn't seen an empty house yet. Mud, yes. Grass, yes. Animal holes, yes. House no.

"I'm so hungry" Kastur moaned. "I'm starving"

"You ate forty minutes ago" I hissed. No, I was the one hungry. I'd barely eaten. Watching her eat instead. We had some spare candy bars, and they were hidden in my pocket. (There were only two). Like I'd give them to her. Sorry, but who was meant to be the kidnapper again?"And what do you want me to do?" Go to MD's and buy you a burger? I don't even think they have a restroom around here"!

"But I'm so hungry"

"Okay"

"But I'm really REALLY hungry"

"Fine"

"Super-hungry"

"Okay!!" I yelled. The ground was starting to tilt upwards. Oh great. A hill. That would make this easier.

"Calm down, " she muttered, looking away. "No need to shout. I was just telling you"

I bit my cheek to stop myself from the suddenly smiling. What was it about her that made me want to laugh? I must be hysteric from the shock, and the blood I was losing from my cut. It must be pretty bad, since Kastur keep staring at it. Also, there was the fact that I was quickly losing stamina from having to climb up this stupid hill.

"WHAT?!" I yelled, when I caught her looking at me for the billionth time. "For God's sake, WHAT?!"

She bit her lip, looking hurt.

" I was just worried about your cut. We should disinfect it, or something."

I softened, feeling guilty.

"And also, you know. I'm kind of hungry"

"What you want me to do about it? " I asked, trying to stay calm. We were almost at the top of the hill.

"I just wanted to tell you, because ' oh, look, a house"

My head snapped into the direction she was looking at. She was right. It was a house.

[Kastur]

I've never been this hungry all in my life. My stomach rumbled, and pain shot through my torso, causing me to bend over. I was going to die, I was going to die, oh my GOD, I was actually considering eating grass. I'm really going to d-

"I just wanted to tell you" I said, closing my eyes in semi-anguish, "because ' oh look, a house"

Mohan turned.

"Oh my god" he said gasping. "You're right" .

Okay, house was stretching it. It was more like a little shed. Actually, how the hell would I know? My house was considered pretty big ' almost as big as a hotel. Mohan seemed impressed by the size, so I didn't bring it up.

It was at least half mile to the house, and by then I was seriously about to die from hunger. I was just clinging on by a mere morsel of will-power. I begged Mohan to piggy-back me, but he just told me to shut up. He's probably upset because he's hungry too. When we were up close, the whole thing seemed way smaller, and dirty. It was red-brick colored, with moss and green things growing all over it. Like a ' gross Lego brick. But smaller.

Am I a snob?

"It's locked" Mohan hissed, and I rolled my eyes.

"That's why it's called breaking and entering"

"What?!"

I checked that this "house" was empty, and I went up to the old, wooden door, reading myself.

"On the count of three, "I muttered, my eyes closed. " 1. 2. 3"

I smashed the door down with sole of my boot, and it hung there, on its hinges. I turned back to Mohan.

"Wow," he said, his eyes very wide. "where did you learn to do that?"

I smirked

"Just some self-defense tricks I picked in a class. Nothing amazing"

"Then why did you let yourself get kidnapped by me? You would've kicked my butt any time you wanted"

I gave him a smile, but turned away, to hide the fact that my gin did not last.

"To get away from my dad, " I said "It's kind of funny though, because right now, I think I miss him a lot".

I turned back to Mohan, and smiled again.

"Do you miss your dad?"

And he looked at me, with unfathomable eyes.

"Yes"

Hope you guys liked it, pls pls pls like and comment it. :) :) :) I would really appericiate it.
