@ ashokaps: similar to what mmroyalkaterick said, all your posts are enlightening and I find it a delight to read them. I look forward to your posts. 😃
DKDM is very special to me, because it presented stories and life lessons that are hidden in our ancient texts - something which we do not have easy access to in these modern times.
It was after I started watching DKDM that I delved into books and online sources to find out more about Lord Shiv.

Please continue writing, as it gives a lot more information and insight into the various scenes shown in DKDM.

hi mmroyalkaterick and sbk2

thank you both of you, please accept my reverence to for we all are seekers and truly reverential are our scriptures. But more than teacher i am a seeker. i am thrilled by the navrasa maya of our myth and in love with their meaning for they give love devotion peace and freedom.

i knew before i started writing here there are many who have traveled the road i am traveling probably better than me, and so many who dont even visit our forum but i wanted to put everything in one place.

i am fascinated by how same myth can be interpreted in so many different ways according our needs.

My writing is my understanding and thoughts from what i have read. I respect all the myths from all over India [world]. Also i believe everyone understanding deserves equal respect and importance. So it's not necessary that my understanding will be same as someone else or that others views should be same as mine. Whatever gives us joy and peace is the truth for us.

i am just so happy to share with all of you and know i am not only one interested in our myths and ancient treasure trove.

mmroyalkaterick you are blessed to be part of the blithe spirit of Durga puja since baby. Garba is always great but when its done by close friends and family its even better. i love the songs that
were sung in olden times when Durga was Mena daughter Uma and i love the Shiv Parvati pandal myth. I will write about it on navratri Durga episode. [maybe you already know]

sbk2 i am so happy you have found the treasure that our scriptures are. i will write but it will take time.

Again Parvati and Kali stories were used for Sati . But now part of Sati stories are also shown with devotion.

Sati meeting Jata and there loving talks are taken from after Parvati tapasya and brahmacharin tests are done and Shiv Parvati are mesmerised in their love and talk of their love and marriage. Shiva asks Parvati to go home and follow her parents wish who wanted to hold swayamvara for Parvati . Shiv promised he would come and marry her [ skanda purana -the myth is very loving and adorable, parts from it will be used later also]

Sati marriage as shown is in Devi Purana and Mahabhagvata Purana . All other Puranas have seven phere marriage. It was very romantic and lovingly shown.

There are many folk and puranic stories of Parvati doing river worship or spending time with Shiv by river. Shiv Parvati stayed at Parvati home before leaving and had romantic time with each other and family as shown for Sati Shiv.

Yagya Daksha is Parvati story in Mahabharat and in some Purana. The talk about way of life is also Parvati time but used well for Sati story.

Sati Shiv in forest and Parvati Shiv in forest are part of many Puranas and folk legends. With Parvati Shiv in forest stories being more elaborate and often having far reaching impact [also in Mahabharata and Ramayana ].

Vijaya is real but she was Sati niece not sister and her most important part was telling Sati that yagya was happening. And in that Purana Sati goes in yogasamadhi at kailash without going to yagya.

Fourth Veda story is Parvati time but was shown well.

Sati 4 promise was given by gods and Vishnu to Shiv before he came to meet Sati the first time when Sati completed her tapasya which makers didn't show rightly as they were going to show Parvati doing tapasya.

When Shiv meets Sati first time after her tapasya, its very romantically written in Purana's. Shiv waiting for marriage to both Sati and Parvati is very romantic. But with Parvati, Shiv meets her again and again for many reasons before marriage happens.

4 promises are always believe and tell truth, never doubt and always agree and obey. [Parvati always follows this and always has Shiv in her heart and thus brought Sankara in sansar. Same way Shiv is in us if we keep this promise, Shiv never leaves us. Like Sati we leave Shiv Parvati ]

Sati reaction to Shiv kalroop is Parvati story used well for Shiv Sati story. [Jalandhar Parvati Shiv myth. Shiv Gajasur Parvati Kartikey myth]

Sati reaction to Shiv nature different roops [cold kailash] is part of both Sati and Parvati story used well for Shiv Sati story

[ good it was used for it would not have been used for Uma, for Uma has limited freedom in reaction the Prakriti who is the very reaction of life needs permission by devotee and fans on how to react. what more to say ]

Honeymoon interruption is part of Parvati Shiv story and Brahma asks Shiv to make it happen so Parvati would go to do tapsaya and destroy demons.[ grin what a romantic lila that is but can't be shown but whatever little they were able to show in the Sep 9 epi was magical divine bliss of Shiv Parvati love devotion and Purusha Prakriti . Kali my Kali how i loved that moment when her feet touched her swami heart. wow her eyes, tears. I always wanted to see that moment and what happens after that. Thank's to our Devon ke dev Mahadev, i can see it now whenever i want. I also wanted to see Shiv Parvati interaction before she goes to fight demons now i have the bliss of that too.]

Honeymoon interruption is part of Parvati Shiv story many times. Shiv going to meet devta's for the war with Tarkasur is at kartikey birth, we all know how upset and angry Parvati was at the interruption.

Playing Damru and enacting a drama to please Sati .[ there are many myths about Shiv playing Damru, singing, dancing, playing veena or enacting a drama or telling a tale to make Parvati happy.] [And many more myths about Shiv Parvati little love fights and some very serious fights , all of which used to make Brahma dev worry and Vishnu smile]

Shiv Sati honeymoon in purana is very romantic and written very elaborately. [as is Parvati Shiv honeymoon - Parvati Shiv have innumerable honeymoons all having far reaching effect]
in purana bath scene is written for Parvati Shiv very romantically.

Shiv told Sati about yoga and devotee. They spent time happily and very romantically till Daksha became angry at yagya and Sati doubted Shiv about Ram.

[Sati doubting Shiv about Ram is in purana and tulsi Ramayana.]

[in regional Ramayana written later Shiv Parvati both go to test Ram and Sita devotion before Sita haran]

[In Purana, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Sutras, Upanishads, Tantra, Yoga, myth, folk tales, tribal tales, legends Shiv gave all the gyan to Parvati . Natya Shastra, Nrytya, Rudra veena, astrology, Ayurveda, Kalachakra, yoga, cosmology, aum, Pranav, pramad, Damru, spanda, vibration. Energy, sound, light, traveling, wondering, physics, chemistry, biology, maths, alchemy, history economics, sociology, architecture, games, sculpture, arts, cosmetic, jewellery, design, cloths, everything originated with Shiv Parvati union. ]

[Also in now famous Kamasutra Shiv taught all this to Parvati . For without sound mind body soul how can there be union of Shiv Parvati . what we very innocent devotee the jiva did to Kamasutra, the wonderful gift of Shiv Parvati is another myth altogether]

Shiv bhola vairagi friend father god husband was shown very lovingly

Devi Purana Shiv Purana Kalika Purana and many other Purana. Tulsi Ramayan.

Ashokaps,
I love every line of this 2 updates. The way you described the tapasya, romantic meetings and the discourses between Shiva Parvati, their union, the interruptions and everything are very blissful. I concede what you say...Shiva is always with us. It is us who walk away from him but still he is with us. In the relation of Shiva Sati Parvati, one thing is clear neither the God abandons nor the Goddess be abandoned. It is our ignorance what make us believe in illusion that we are abandoned. About the Shiva Parvati litte fights and then the amendments those are very delightful to hear and enlightening as well when we look into this divine plays carefully. Some folktales are famous in Bengal too.
From Shiva to Shankara, journey what we get the various knowledge on various subjects are truly valuable.

And I am glad that you like the songs about Meena (Menoka in Bengal) and her daughter Uma Gauri. Even I too love them very much as well as Shyama Sangeet( Songs on Shyama or Kali)...they were very soulful and wipes out negative vibes in instance.
And I am looking forward to read about Navaratri and Durga...because it is always delightful to listen anything about Ma.

hi mmroyalkaterick

I love every myth of Parvati Shiv.

Why dont you share bengal myths and Shyama Uma sangeet poem, when you have time . it will be wonderful to read them again if i have already read them and they might be new to me too.

When i said Mena Uma i meant Mena Uma Kali Gauri Durga for they all are Mena daughter Parvati.

I love Parvati in any form but what ever her form ma is always with Shiv even Durga myth. so i will be writing about the vidya Durga gives of Shiv Parvati Purusha Prakriti.

and you are right Shyama Kali Uma Gauri sangeet are soulful, they always make me cry.

Belated happy Christmas to everyone and earlly happy new year.

Creative's again used Parvati stories but also showed most of Sati story with great devotion.

I think Daksha daughter name was Sati for a simple profound truth. To recognize cognitive. if we write Shiv Sati Parvati, Parvati Sati Shiv, Parvati Shiv Sati or Shiv Parvati Sati. It means Shiv truth is Parvati , Parvati truth is Shiv, Parvati Shiv are truth or Shiv Parvati are truth. To cognitive to recognize. As our rishis writing the purana knew.

Shiv with Vidyumali is take on many asura and Shiv story where Parvati Vishnu and Ganesh come to take him back. [Parvati Vishnu and Ganesh don't take raudra roop but use kala, sur and shringar roop] It was good for Prakriti bhakts to show this story very lovingly and with great devotion for raudra roop of Prakriti . [That devoted bhakt adore]

When Sati doubts Shiv about Ram and takes Sita roop to test Ram Shiv takes back Sati rights as his wife. As jiva we see husband taking wife's rights and have sympathy with Sati and question Shiv. When Ram doubts Sita after Lav Kush war again Sita finally leaves mortal plain and goes back to Prakriti Shiv her eternal parents. As jiva we see husband doubting wife forcing her to leave him forever. We have sympathy with Sita and question Ram.

And as Shiv when Sati doubts disagrees disbelieves disobeys, she leaves Shiv. Shiv didn't stop loving Sati as husband but he became vairagi nor did Shiv stop staying in Sati heart but Sati ego of life stopped her from seeing the truth. For what is Shiv but Prakriti Hara agreement belief, fulfilled Prakriti every wish. As Lakshmi waits for Ram to complete his journey and her father Mahakal to bring Vishnu back to Vaikunth . Ram didn't stop loving his wife nor did Vishnu stop residing in Lakshmi heart [more on Ram Sita vidya later] How Sati can test Ram is based on vidya of perception of time by jiva gods asura all beings and Shiv which is different. How we see time kalpa and Shiv time kalchakra of kalpa is different [more on this later]

The Daksha yagya myth story is in all Purana with Sati part in it.

Mahabharat has yagya and Virabhadra Rudra Shiv story but no Sati because in Mahabharat and Valmiki Ramayan Shiv only married once to Parvati, Himvan Mena daughter after she did tapasya. Dasksha didn't have daughter named Sati but many other daughters married to devta and rishis.

It is Parvati [Uma] who is very upset that Shiv is not invited. To make her happy Shiv sends Virabhadra and Bhadrakali to destroy Daksha yagya or himself goes as Rudra when he becomes angry at the sign of rapid creation happening for what it will do to Prakriti [Parvati ] Kalchakra .

In Veda it is Rudra and Prajapati yagya . Rudra stories and essence are in Veda but a lot of Shiv and Prakriti is in essence. In Veda Parvati Mahavidya are present in essence vidya form rather than concrete names or relationships of human's. The relationship is there but of nature form. And it is present both in positive and negative form in its impact on humans. positive is everything which helps humans but negative is part of positive, you might want to do away with it but you can't its part and serves a purpose for positive so you have to deal with it . [Sounds like maths, science and everyday life] [ Devon ke dev Mahadev from time to time use Veda essence in stories and dialogues ]

Shiv Uma as Shivling [ yoni is part of Shivling ] and [Purusha Prakriti ] as fertility and nature energy gods [ both positive and negative] were worshiped in all over India since time immemorial. They might have been called by many names. Well they do have more than 1000s name having many meanings. [Purusha Prakriti ] Fertility and nature energy gods [both positive and negative] were worshiped all over the world since time immemorial.

Pasupati sect is very old, has meaning both literal, lord of animal forest. Abstract, lord of souls, bhoota and for bhakt a way of very exact yog bhakti which Shiv also practiced.

[Parvati first was known as Uma Himavati in Upanishads, Mahabharata, Valmiki Ramayan. later got names like Parvati, Kali, Gauri and Durga among many others in Mahabharata, Valmiki Tulsi Ramayan Purana, Tantra and folk legends. Parvati name as Sati was given in Purana, Tantra Tulsi Ramayan and folk legends while different part of India still gave Parvati many more beautiful names and myth legend] [All the myths telling the story related to Parvati names are very romantic, at the same time they give vidya of Shiv Prakriti. Sigh the magic of union of Shiv Parvati Purusha Prakriti tandav]

[In Veda Ambika name was given to Rudra sister and dark demon's Goddess working with Rudra was Nirriti and Ratri. Ambika Nirrti Ratri followed and helped Rudra. Other goddess who are essence of Prakriti had allegory relation with Rudra lord of storm, vastopati, vaidnath, Jvarapita, marutpita, lord of animals - pashupati, vanspati, lord of bhoota, archer, holding shula, shulapani, yogi, destroyer of tripura and Daksha yagya, Shiv, Mahadeva ]

[But it's also said Parvati took many birth before finally uniting with Shiv as Parvati . Shiv mundmala have mund from Parvati every birth. Parvati many birth and Shiv wearing her mundmala is a take on meaning of Purusha Prakriti enduring relationship and love. The tandav of the very essecnce of life, truth beauty Shiv.] more on this later

[ veda mahabharata purana Tantra temple lore ]

[Parvati took birth 108 times.108 being Parvati, 108 birth has relation with Prakriti Purusha vidya. 108 is a very important number in our myths and vidya.] [Shiv yogini and matrika permutation has been known to go up to 108.] [Later chemistry told us there is 108 elements in universe.][In Sanskrit there are 108 alphabet of which 54 Purusha Shiv and 54 Prakriti Parvati ] [1+8 = 9 is also very important, 9 is brahamana so in 108 births Parvati united with Shiv.] [ also there are navdurga, navrasa] [it is on 9th day of navratri Shiv Parvati Shidharatri is Aardhanarishvar]

All Gods names are numerically 108 or 1008 equalling 9. [We can write a thesis on 108, 9 effecting the whole universe]

In reality Shiv does marry only once for Parvati and Sati are one. In Purana Parvati birth as Sati was written to show the meaning of many ways to Shiv and the problem you face while doing it. For Parvati shows both the problem you face and how you can do it. While Sati shows the problems you face even after you think you have found the way.
