Thanks Minakshi

Minakshi i will write all the months giving the detailed description and source of various stories in them. all the phase i will cover . not just some phase, they all are well researched and well covered.

you are right It's not possible to follow the exact Purana's story every time as some parts can not be shown on tv but their meaning and soul were shown .

yes exactly the main essence of Human life is in grasping the inner truth of these stories. It helps a lot in our journey from being Jeeva to Parvati Shiva.

Hello Ashokaps
I just start reading the literature thoroughly...and someday I wish to read more and original scriptures too.

And the following part I concede with you completely.

The idea of how to present dkdm the series was inspired by work of Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik and dkdm think tank have interacted with him through out the series from time to time but what is finaly shown is under the rules of tv mythology serial. But they have chosen to show with mytho serial the meaning and soul of myth when ever they can.

that is why from time to time it had the surreal feel of dreams and human emotion instead of the grandeur and pomp of the myth.dkdm being daily and budget constraint actually was conductive in achieving this blissful imagery which i love which regular mytho serial won't have [ they are great too for grandeur and pomp they have ]

Again Parvati and Kali stories were used for Sati .

Sati hug Shiv unmoved [wonderful, Parvati used to bath him while helping him before kama bhasm but he was unmoved can't show that] [unmoved is not without feeling but not giving into them]

Madnike is inspired by Shiv bhakt Mahananda story.

Like in Mahananda myth Madnike made every one in Dakasha Bhavan dance to her tune. Till Mahadev enlightened her and she gave up samridhi ego of life and became Bholenath sadhavi bhakt.

Parvati and Kali story were used for Sati vasant dance and yognidra story. [Order of incidence and character action are creatively changed]

Gods ,Saptrishis and Nandi ganas pray to Shiv to wake up Kali from Yoganidra. Used for sati.

In Kali dance story Shiv danced first to awaken Kali from yognidra. Kali joined him in dance on waking from yognidra.

[ Yoganidra also is Mahamaya Vishnumaya MahaDevi in Purana's .

metaphysics take on Purusha Prakriti . Creation dissolution. The great slumber before the awakening]

Dialogues for parents are taken form the Parvati story, when Shiv came to dance at her home. There are myth that Parvati faints due to the intense emotion Shiva dance generates in her. Shiva wakes Parvati very lovingly.

Sati dancing on Shiv rangoli is a take on Kali dancing on Shiv heart. It has metaphysics meaning not to be taken literally.

[Though Prakriti most daintily dances on Purusha heart as we will have the great blessing of seeing when Parvati is born.]

[Shiv had told Kali your feet will stay on my heart only]

Shiv was filmed while doing tandav larger than life as he should be nothing else can be seen. And the instruction given to him to emote was very romantic.

Sati fire circle story is Parvati story when she did tapasya. [When Shiv didn't appear Parvati decided to enter fire and do tapasya again in next birth]

Worshiping Sati to calm Shiva is Parvati story after daruk van fire linga story.[ Parvati was worshiped to calm Shiv, Pravati absorbed the fire linga in herself and promised to take birth as Mena Himvan daughter]

Madnike is inspired by Shiv bhakt Mahananda story.

[It is very good they did all this for they knew they won't be allowed to show all this as Shiv and Parvati and Kali.]

Sati Madnike and Sati's sisters talk when she talks about Shiv ignoring her and not even looking at her are Parvati pain and her talks with her friends and mother when Shiv ignored her and won't even look at her when she use to meet him every day to serve him with devotion and love before kamdev bhasm happened.

Parvati would even want him, find him very attractive but he would only do dhyan, puja and tapasya.

Chandra dev Somnath Jyotirling was shown well. [in Mahabharata Veda Purana Parvati story ]

Chandra dev Shiv Paravti myth has many more layers which will effect later stories.

Rishi Markandey story is Parvati time , he wrote Devi Saptasati about Parvati killing demons and Shiv Vishnu bhakti so showing him worshiping Sati and giving Maha Mrityunjaya mantra was good.

Shiv Sati Shivratri graveyard talk are taken from all the metaphysics talks that happened the first time Shiva met Parvati

[ Parvati used to help him where ever he was ]

Parvati used to meet Shiv many times before kamdev bhasm happened and she did tapasya. That has been used for Sati.

All the metaphysics talks happened the first time Shiva met Parvati which were used for many Shiva and Sati meetings

Shiv abhishek was lovingly shown on Shivratri. [ Parvati did Shiv abhishek too but can't show it . Mahabharata, Valmiki Ramayana, Veda, Purana]

An angry Mahadev points his Trishul at Prajapati Daksh to protect Sati Parvati [Prakriti ] is a take on Mahabharata and Veda story

Shiv Sati Shivling graveyard talk are taken from all the talks that happened the first time Shiva met Parvati [ also from Shiv Paravti talks after marriage . Mahabharata, Purana]

Shiv tandav bhola vairagi father god was shown very lovingly

Ling Purana, Shiv Purana, Kalika Purana. Mahabharata and Veda story.

Such a nice and important post. Though i am not active in DKDM forum,
I am the regular follower of this Mythological show. I loved it from my heart. Infact i have really started my journey in understanding Lord Shiva and GoddessParvathi . I have no words to explain my gratitude towards all the directors, actors, who has lived in the shoes of those eternal characters and gave us the knowledge and wisdom. Like Ramayan and Mahabharat, DKDM is like treasure to store which is worth watching for the generations to come.

I will miss this serial so much. 😔
