Mishal Raheja makes his acting comeback after a break

Popular television actor Mishal Raheja is all set to return to acting after taking a conscious break from the entertainment industry. Known for his impactful performances in shows like Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Mano Ya Na Mano (Season 2), Ishq Ka Rang Safed, and later Kumkum Bhagya as King Singh, Mishal had stepped away from regular acting a few years ago. Now, he is making his comeback with a new vertical series titled Chaalbaaz.

Stepping Away to Explore New Paths

Speaking about his break, Mishal shared that after working on television for several years, he wanted to explore other aspects of life. His last on-screen appearance before the break was in the 2021 web series Mumbai Diaries 26/11. After that, he chose to move away from acting and focus on different interests. Mishal revealed that he spent time building his business and travelling, and that he also entered politics during this phase. He stated that he is content with the choices he made and carries no regrets about stepping away from the screen.

The Call That Brought Him Back

Mishal explained that his return to acting happened unexpectedly. He recently received a call for a vertical story project, and what caught his attention was the overall concept. According to him, the story, production, and cast felt exciting. At the same time, he was also receiving many messages from fans who wanted to see him back on screen. Considering both factors, he decided to say yes and make his comeback with Chaalbaaz.

The project will stream on a new platform called RocketReels, which is launching with several shows featuring known actors. Mishal shared that the platform’s initial shows will be available free of charge, without a subscription fee, which also made the project interesting to him.

Working with a Familiar and Trusted Team

Another reason Mishal agreed to the project was the team involved. He revealed that Puja Banerjee will be playing the female lead opposite him. Mishal mentioned that he was aware of Puja’s popularity, especially for her work in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, and had always wanted to collaborate with talented co-actors. He also spoke about reuniting with director Ankoosh Bhatt, with whom he had earlier worked on Encounter, a project that also featured Manoj Bajpayee.

Initially, Mishal had refused the offer due to his business commitments. However, the team persisted, and since the shoot schedule was short—around eight to nine days—he decided to revisit the excitement of being on set.

No Immediate Plans for Television Return

When asked about returning to television or reality shows, Mishal clarified that he has no such plans at the moment. He said he is happy staying busy with his existing commitments. However, he added that he is always open to films, whether for the big screen or OTT platforms, and believes that future opportunities will come as per destiny.

With Chaalbaaz, Mishal Raheja marks a fresh chapter in his acting journey, reconnecting with his audience while keeping his future plans open-ended.
