No offence intended but Janaki, you yourself said that you didn't even watch the show, at least not regularly. There was plenty of devotional scenes between Shiv and Sati:
The first time Sati sees Shiv
Mahadev playing the veena and Sati dancing
Both Shiv and Sati dancing at Vasantutsov
When Shiv and Sati talk after Shivratri
When Shiv protects Sati in the shamshaan
Shiv as Jataa trying to help Sati
Their wedding!!
Adishakti scene
And quite a few more!
The point is just because you're not a fan of Mouni doesn't mean that their "romance scenes lacked divinity". Rightly said I'm not, nor will ever be a Sonarika fan, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what she's done for this show and what the show has done for her by developing her into a real actress.
Mouni was never given a chance to interact with kids on the show, so its totally null and void saying things like she's not motherly and doesn't have affection. How can you tell if you haven't seen her interact with kids? Incidently she's amazing with children which I can honestly say after having seen her onscreen and offscreen with children.
Parvati for me has to have that command in her voice and mannerisms that (as far as I could see) Sonarika didn't have. Imo her chemistry with Mohit was pretty wooden, but again only my opinion, I'm not stating these things as facts like others here.
Let's hope Pooja does a good job as Parvati now and stop all these comparisons!

I know... I also thought that the Sati-Shiv / Mouni-Mohit chemistry was better... Not that Sonarika is not good, I really like her as Parvati... But Shiv-Sati was something else...<3
