The show a promo but it takes weeks or months till the event indicated in promo is actually shown. It drags too much.
I used to watch DKDM intermittently but ever since they advertised the Mahadev ka Mahashatru track I've been waiting for the epic battle between Mahadev and Jalandhar. But they've dragged it so much and we've waited so long that I am no longer as excited for the battle as I was earlier. Now it feels like they should just do what they want to do.
One more thing - audience does not watch a mythological show just to see same old issues of "daampatya jeevan" (which DKDM seems to show often either between Shiv-Parvati or other devi devtas). Gods and godesses are revered and thought to have great powers and believed to have led extraordinary lives. People expect to see something "fantastic". And better paced. They want to be blown away or see something eye-opening.
Routine conversations with gods and godesses just sitting goes over an ordinary TV viewer's head.
There is not even something like BRC's Mahabharat in which every episode would be encapsulated like a "moral of the story" by Samay (time) as the narrator. Even that helps a bit to make sense of seemingly unfathomable/boring/ordinary things shown in an episode.
It's a big deal that this show is getting even this much TRP.
The show's casting, handling, talent are all in right place but minor issues coupled with lack of interest in mythology now prevent it from getting higher TRPs.
They can do away with too many slow motion scenes, dragging and camera lingering for too long on a character's face (before and after he/she has said his/her lines!).
A show on Mahadev should be power-packed. Such dheelapan might be acceptable in say, a story like Ramayan but not a show on Lord Shiva.
Still it's quite successful for a mytho show on a newly launched channel.
