There are some people who can get offended even by "little"..

Although, if you take the bizarreness out of the story, you can find many spiritual truths and scientific truths... And be ready to be taken aback, I deem this story as "real".😆

ON the different versions, I think some Swamiji said or I read somewhere on the net that each version is of a different Kalpa, which makes sense. I mean, if you were God, you would get bored of doing the same thing gazillion times, no?😆

Narakasura had kidnapped 16100 damsels (not only princesses, but also, brahmin girls, dancers, apsaras, etc) and kept them in his palace. So when Krishna killed Narakasura, these girls had nowhere else to go, and they pleaded Krishna to marry them. SO he agreed.

The other eight wives were Rukmini and Mitravinda, who were kidnapped, Satyabhama and Jambavati, who were offered to Krishna, Satya and Lakshmana, who selected him in Svayamvara, Kalindi, the avatar of Goddess Yamuna, and Bhadra, the only princess whom he married in the proper way...😆 Acc to Shiva Purana these were all a vardan to Krishna by Parvati

Most temples here in South depict him only with Rukmini... I don't know the reason why the others aren't depicted... maybe, because while the others were just princesses, Radha and Rukmini were the epitome of Bhakti and sacrifice, Radha's love being superior to Rukmini's. Also, Rukmini knew that she was Mahalakshmi. I think that is why...
