I saw it in a film..i really don't know whether such story do exist in puranas...
Ravan does a tough penance to please shiva inorder to get athma lingam from him for his mother kaikesi. But when parvati comes to know about penance she approaches vishnu to intervene. So when shiva gets pleased and appears before ravana,because of vishnu maya, he forgets about his actual wish and ask for parvati. Shiva warns ravan that he cannot ask for her as she is adishakthi. but ravan criticizes shiva for not keeping up his word. So shiva orders parvati to go with ravana.
parvati leaves with ravana. In their way, narada appears and ask parvati to appear in the form of bhadrakali. he then says to ravana, that shiva had deceived him by sending bhadrakali with him and keeping parvathi for himself.
Enraged ravana comes back to kailash and badmouths shiva for deceiving him. he says that he will find parvathi..at any cost..saying these words ravana leaves leaving bhadrakali at kailash..parvati return back to kailash...
meanwhile ravan mistakes mandodari for parvati and he will marry her...
