I don't know how many of u have noticed this.
It's just a small observation which i feel is one of the best things of dkdm.😊
Have u all observed Lakshmi Mata? She always sits near the feet of Narayan but she never presses his legs.I have seen in many mytho serials and movies where Lakshmi would keep pressing the legs of Vishnu.I would always wonder why they would keep showing that.I had asked my mom and my grandmom once about it.My mom said,it was out of love and care for her husband that she does that.My grandmom said that it's because she is Vishnu's wife and thus is inferior to him so that's why she always sits near his feet and does his seva.😕
Two generations,different views.
Well,i remember one of the members(won't name the member) here long back making this comment that Vishnu is an MCP who keeps his wife under his feet and treats her like a slave.🤢😡👎🏼
Anyways,i am glad they are not showing Lakshmi pressing his feet as normally people take it in a bad sense.

actually my mom says that some people believe Lakshmi is always sitting next to Narayans feet, and Narayan is in a sleeping posture because she is belived to be TALLER than him
its a pretty amusing theory-but the objective of them sitting that way is said to hide Narayans slightly shorter height as compared to his wife😆
so i our community if the wife is taller than the husband they say-Lakshmi-Narayan ki jodi hai😆

Nice post ritika. Shruti I was not aware that Vishnu was shorter than Lakshmi. But in DKDM our pranpriye is the tallest ...If Lakshmi never presses Vishnu's legs in this show they more than make it up by making Parvati fall on Shiv's feet all the time and asking for forgiveness. So this show is not that far behind in depicting Shakti in a poor light. 🤢

Lakshmi presses Vishnu's legs because she feels:

  • Vishnu would have had a hard time in his Avatar as Kurma- supporting the huge mountain on his back and paddling with his feet to maintain the balance. Wouldn't Vishnuji's feet have tired?
  • Or, imagine, as Varaha, having to dive into the waters and emerge, carrying the Earth delicately on his tusks.
  • Or, as Narasimha, having had to pin Hiranyakashipu down on his lap and rip his body apart. Hiranyakashipu was a huge asura . Wouldn't Vishnu's legs have pained supporting the asura's gigantic body on his thighs?
  • Or as Vamana- Lakshmi looks at her Lord's delicate lotus-like feet and thinks that even placing three steps would have been too much of a strain. And they were no ordinary steps too...So she presses her Lord's feet.
  • And as Parashurama- Lakshmi continues to think- travelling all over the world and fighting wicked kshatriya's- His feet protected only by hard wooden sandals. His feet would have hurt so much. Now, as his wife, couldn't she relieve his pain a little bit? Lakshmi continues to massage his feet. thinking...
  • And in his avatar as Rama, he didn't even have sandals (Bharata took them away) to protect him from the rough forest terrain. So many thorns, so many pricks...So many people would fall at his feet (for blessings), but did anyone bother to feel the pain of those FEET?
  • True, people liked to narrate Little Krishna's mischevious exploits, especially when Mother Yashoda tied him to a stone mortar, but imagine the pressure on those tiny feet as they dragged the huge stone mortar all the way outside. Or imagine, the poisonous bites of the snake Kaliya on the Lord's feet as He danced?
Lakshmi sighs and continues to gently rub her husband's feet.

So many people ...Prahalada, Dhruva, Ahalya, Narada...know the relief and comfort provided by HIS FEET. But no one knows that those two feet have also undergone pain and discomfort. Except her- Lakshmi- his wife. Ever so gently, she places his feet on her lap

Vishnu, looks at her and smiles.

^^^Yes, if Mata Lakshmi presses Vishnuji's feet, it is with the concern and care of a loving wife - not b'cos he is an MC*...
