Takku was looked so calm and relaxed today. Shukru came and spoilt it for him. I really felt pain for Parvati today. Things can be so unfair at times even for Gods. 😔

As per the North Indian versions, since Ganesh is the younger brother, he would not have been involved.

But since Tamil literature has him as the elder brother, it is possible that Skanda sought his blessings before setting out on his military campaign.

Going by the opinions expressed in this thread, IMHO, the CVs would have done a lot better if they had decided to follow the Tamil version of Skanda's birth.

There is no crying, jealousy or ill feelings b/w the various parties. Mahadev gratefully acknowledges Agni, Vayu, Ganga's, etc efforts by naming his son after them, but ultimately it is Parvati who gets the custody (pun intended). He is not left with the Krittikas.

Skanda literally grows up on Parvati's lap. Poets have remarked how Parvati fed the essence of 'Shiva Gyan' along with milk to baby Kartikeya. (In fact Kanda Puranam specifically states that after Parvati had merged the six babies into one, She fed him with her milk )

And it is because he is Shakti's son, that he goes on to eventually become the Senapati of Devas.

So, this version of the story would have satisfied most of us. Parvati not under any emotional torture, no curses fling back and forth, baby Kartikeya returns to Kailash with his mom and dad, Parvati's maternal desires fulfilled.

All in all- a happy scenario.

And the best part is the CVs would have been faithful to at least one version.

There are other stories as well of Ganesh and Skanda playing around in Kailash in their childhood. All this proves that Skanda was never ever separated from his Mother.

I too felt very bad for my Paro. It was very sad to see her trying to suppress her pain and the look she gave Mahadev when she turned to leave was very sad. 😒

Everything is predestined as per Shivji, then please reduce Parvti's pain by telling her, when their son will come back to her. May be he will on Monday. Now everyone is feeling her pain. Even Gods have to sacrifice so much for betterment of the world.

Tarakasur will try to harm Karikeya & will be stopped by Kritikas.

Shukracharya gave him good advice of surrendering to Shivji but Tarakasur refused. Let's see what's his next step?

Did you all notice how baby Kartikeya was constantly looking at his papa throughout Mahadev's conversation with the Krittika 1?😊 Awww I was all teary eyed. How lovingly Mahadev was looking at his son when Parvati was handing him over to Krittika and also how lovingly he touched him and blessed him? Brought tears to my eyes. And Poor Parvati😭
