ohh god i thought any other production house is making ramayana in a new style...focusing on sita which will give a feminist angle to the soap..just unique like zee's ravan...but its the same sagars???they are completely gone out of mind..gurmmet-debina's memory are still so fresh in our heart how could we relate??😡

our Indian mytho and history are so rich why can't they focus on those??..like nal-damayanti story and innumerous lve story in mytho and history and also stories on Vishnu-Laksmi? or the Surya or Adi Shakti??people already forgot about the shows on them.. why can't they make the story of karan (like chiranjibi in marathi) in hindi?? why can't they make soap on draupadi?? (once it was made with mrunal jain but ended abruptly)
but no the same ramayan..come on atleast make Jaanki's story instead of this...
DKDM has no comparison...its direction, screenplay, picturization, script, costume, music and acting made it best mytho shows ever..
sagar's dwarkadhish and ekta's mytho were flop because of totally different story, poor direction and obviously horrible actors (except vishal ofcourse)...
wow am waiting for SP's Mahabharata...
but this Ramayana🤢

Yes agree with all u guys making ramayan again and again will surly bore audience , instead that there r many avathar's of Vishnu , most popular r dasavathar still they can make those untold stories na why the same ramayan !!!!!!!!!?

We discussed this a bit in this thread in MM

Like I said there, the reason that DkDM is successful is that it's the first major serial since ONS to be done on Shiva, and mostly w/ unknown characters - not much was known about Dadhichi, Kashyap, Khyatti, Aditi, Prashuti or even Daksha. So for a lot of people, it was like watching a fresh new story. That, combined w/ a good cast and authentic settings - both linguistic and costumes/sets/make-up etc made this a big hit.

There are other mythological stories that Zee could have been interested in. Like I suggested in the above link, one covering Krishna & the Mahabharata. DBSK turned out to be really mediocre - except for around 8 people, a poor cast, completely anachronistic costumes, but worst of all - really convoluted messages. Not to mention endless fiction once the Mahabharata part of it didn't attract TRPs.

Or else, even a serial on other deities, like Ma Durga, or some of Vishnu's other avatars would have been good. Like one on the sagar manthan, or a serial combining Hiranyaksha, Hiranyakashipu, Prahlad, Virochan and Bali.

Given that none of these channels have the patience to stick w/ a serial despite low TRPs, an episodic serial - like Shani Dev was on Imagine TV - would have been good.

Anyway, am not planning to watch any of these - DkDM is it for me. I do hope they cover the stories of Durga, the Tripurasuras and other stories of Shiva, including those from outside the Shiva Purana.

i guess looking at the popularity of the show they are-hey have changed the official story of the show from being Satis story to being Mahadevs story with Parvati and of his various avataars etc...
did anyone make a soap of Vishnu Dadhavataars?...that would be a REALLY interesting show to see-i dont know how no one has thought of that as yet!
they can even make a soap of Swargalok and its people!!!that would be really intresting!

I believe that BRC's Vishnu-Purana would have covered them - except for Rama & Krishna. Vishnu Purana also includes non-avatar stories like Dhruva, Bhashmasura and so on.

Speaking of the Ramayan, in ONS, they showed a rakshashi Karkati, who previously married Viragh and later Kumbhakarna, and was therefore widowed twice by Rama. The son she had from Kumbhakarna was named Bhimasura, and she had him get a boon from Brahma that he'd trounce Vishnu. He did, but was later killed by Shiva for persecuting a ruler who was a Shiva bhakt. In ASR, they showed a bit of Karkati when the Uttarkand phase of the serial started., but didn't stay on w/ her much. I wonder whether they'll show that Karkati story in this serial? If they do, it'll have to happen after Ramayan but before Mahabharata.

B R Chopra made Vishnupuran about Vishnu's Dashavatara. Nitish Bharadwaj played Lord Vishnu and all of his incarnations. It was telecast on Zee TV in the early 2000s.

Dheeraj Kumar made Om Namo Narayan about Vishnu's 24 avatars. It was on Sahara also back in the early 2000s. I'm not sure but I don't think they finished it; still it remains the only show that touched on the other incarnations of Vishnu I believe.

Additionally, Ramanand Sagar's Shri Krishna covered the incarnations (amongst the Dashavatar) preceding Krishna during the phase when he was in gurukul.
