It is said that when Barbarika (whose living decapitated head was allowed by Krishna to witness the Kurushetra War) was asked to describe what he saw, he replied that he had watched the Sudarshan Chakra destroying the enemy and Draupadi in the form of Mahakali drinking their blood.

I just mentioned the same thing in the other thread. There were definite parallels between Drauapadi and Sati in this last episode with the way they addressed the assembly, the elders/gods, etc in vain. The way the elders/gods could not (or did not) help her because of their boons/vows and rules and all, putting them in a questionable position.

It's interesting. One was born out of yagya fire, the other ended her life in it and both incidents led to utter destruction.

Hey Kal..We have had a same pinch thought it seems...The members of the Yagnya were indeed in a questionable position...The Deities are tagged 'Selfish' in Tusli ramayana for having abandoned their loyalties for Shivji...and siding with Daksha...and the fact that they bore the result of this sin...makes it clear that even Gods have to bear fruits of their deeds...good or bad,,,😃

Ummm... I think there is some confusion ...I have not drawn any parallel between Dhitrashtra and Daksh..I have put two women born in different times and their power to change histories...And even If I am drawing Parellals..I would draw a parellal between Daksha and Duryondhana..the only common thing being they were the reason for the particular incidents...in this case ...Shiva's insult and Sati's selfimmolation and in the other case Draupadi's Cheer Haran and her pledges..but as I said...Not other similarities between them..Daksh is Daksh and Duryodhan is Duryodhan...nothing common except 'D'😆 Thanks for the comment..wonderful knowledge I have gained😳

Daksha & Duryodhan would be even more inappropriate a comparison, for the same reason - Daksha was happily minding his own business and doing his yagna, and Sati came there uninvited, demanding to know why Shiva wasn't invited. Draupadi had no intention or desire to appear in court, but Duryodhan had her dragged there by Dushashan. Like I said, I dislike Daksha all right, but he was not even close to the sort of villains that one saw in the Mahabharata.

Ah...I think I said I am not comparing both of them...The only comparisions is their acts at that particular moment..nothing to be said about the past and future events...And Daksha cannot be close to any villains in Mahabharata as the Yuga will be different..altogether...Different Yugas have different characters as Villains which reflects the qualities and drawbacks of the people of that Yuga...
But this thread still remains the comparisions and parellal between the Sati and Draupadi characters and not the other surrounding them😃

wonderful comparison btw da two mighty and strong women.dese two proved dat women shd not be silent sufferers.dey taught us 2 fight against injustice in deir own ways.sati protested against da injustice thru self-immolation.if she wanted, she cld hv killed daksh but she didn't as he was her father. As some members said dat draupadi was one of da forms of mahakali,so she too cld hv killed all da kauravas at da sabha but she didn't do it.instead she always made her husbands realise dat as all dese happened bcoz of dem so dey shd kill da kauravas and take revenge 4 her insults.

Nice Post Ms. MUDHMATI😛...same pinch on same thoughts😆
I was getting mahabharat dejavu while watching yesterday's episode...but like someone mentioned the only difference was Sati was human form of Aadishakti whereas Draupadi was human ...

The most interesting thing is Draupadi was Yagyaphal for her father who wanted revenge on Drona & she was going to be helping hand in achieving that...so basically she was a weapon for someone's destruction...whereas Daksha did severe tapsya & asked aadishakti to take birth as his daughter so that he can be the reason for shiv-shakti's milan...& later on that prime reason of Sati's existance was denied by him...

Hey Subha...The women should never be silent sufferers...it is they who should stand up for their rights...And Sati as she said yesterday, could not have killed Daksha as she would have caught in the karma bandhan...and she could not have dont that...Draupadi was one epic character...she actually was a taunting queen...sometimes considered to be bad...but the way she was treated and her husbands treated her as a commodity...she had rightly done so////
