Oh Vicky, I wouldn't dare compare this to DBSK, that show doesn't even deserve to be called mythology.🤣 I'm just saying that their Rukmini-Krishna scenes during Rukmini Haran were well portrayed.

@JR...
sweets, not all in the DKDM forum are blind for what is shown...we just take it with a pinch (eehh..tablespoon) off salt...cause most like the chemistry off mohit and mouli...as Shiv and Sati...but we do bash the Cv's for giving us SF and Fairy tales...
coming to the way sati is portrayed...well I agree ...she is shown to much human...a bit to weak...while she is an incarnation... but in the story the Cv's already highlighted that Sati isn't yog/ fit for shiv yet... let us hope Cv's remember that...and show us the process off Sati getting Yog/ fit for Shiv...
last...the Cv's are using to much off their creative freedom in this Mythological serial... with that they are bringing down the value most ppl put in the reel story...so should we belief what they show us...No... to bad a lot off ppl will...
when I started to watch this show...I hoped to learn more about Shiv...now 3 moths later...I just give my brains a rest and enjoy the show...and now looking forward to next week's Saas bahu track...

This Swayamvar version is given in Devi puran with Dadhichi explaing to Daksh about greatness of lord Shiv when Daksh refuses to respect Shivji. On Brhmaji's convincing Daksh carried out the marriage rituals. Every Puran gives the story giving more importance to the concerned Deity whose Puran it is. So same story will have different vedrsions in different books. We only need to broaden our views to enjoy the show, best is watch it without any expectations. Sati's story is not yet over, it has many unknown aspects, it is good to know those unknown aspects through this show.

I was about to post about the Devi Puran version. Good that you did that already. šŸ‘ People really need to understand that there can be - and there usually is - more than one version of these mythological stories. The swayamvar story has basis in scripture and oral legends although if I remember right, the statue itself is an addition of this serial (in the scripture Sati throws the garland into the air taking Shiva's name and he appears with the garland around his neck).

As I've said before, this show is still going to meet all the milestones. It's just taking a more scenic route to get there. šŸ˜†

Yes dear, that's why I said many people here and not all, I know a lot members who are my friends and displeased with some scenes.😳
Initially, when I heard that a mytho was going to be made on Shivji, I was really happy! We see so many depictions of Ramayan and Mahabharat from different directors, but not many people make shows on Lord Shiva and I was hoping this show would do justice to him, but it's not quite what I expected. I was hoping that Sati's story would be short and precise and that we'd get to see Shivji's marriage to Parvathi, and then the birth of Ganesha and Kartikeya. I was looking forward to so many scenes, but Shiv-Sati marriage is happening only now, so I'm not sure how much of Shivji's charitra the CVs will be able to show, since the channel might force them to shut down after a year or two like it happened with the Sagar's Jai Shri Krishna in Colors. It dragged Bal Krishna's stories for more than a year and hardly showed young adult Krishna before they were forced to shut down. I am hoping that won't happen with DkDM because Shivji's leelas are so interesting but hardly touched upon by people.
You know, if you want to learn about Lord Shiva, you should give Dheeraj Kumar's Om Namah Shivay a try. I haven't seen it fully but in the scenes I did see, it was pretty good. Only thing is that in that show, some of the actors were not that well chosen so other than Shiv and Parvathi, I thought the cast a bit below average.šŸ¤” On the other hand, DkDM has really good casting but the story is what is lacking.
I hope after Shiv-Sati marriage, the serial improves so that those of us who wish to see Shivji's leelas and battles won't be disappointed.

Dheeraj Kumar. I remember his Sati in Shree Ganesh was also very human. Heck her soul was still crying and roaming the universe, unable to understand her predicament until Shree Ganesh appeared and made her realize that she is in fact Adi-Shakti and explained to her how and why all that stuff happened.

Never saw Shree Ganesh, but if they depicted Sati like that, then they too were wrong.

our Puranas do not explain the character of a God-how they behaved etc in detail...which is a bit sad...since the texts do not explain many facts in detail...its mostly left on the creatives to wind a story and create a show out of it...
but yes exception to this is the Ramayan and the Mahabharat beacuse they were properly written texts and had everything in detail-i love reading both of them equally...however i guess in terms of Shiv we dont have a story in that much detail...what makes matters worse is the contradicting story/scripts of various sources!
regarding the "humanness" of Sati or even Shiv for that matter-for a pure mythological lover it will be really hard to digest... because they are Gods and not human to have such emotions...but at the same time our Gods are shown to be emotional, even temperamental-like Shivas Tandav when he is angry,or even when is is bereaved after Satis death, even emotions like pride jealously etc in Sati...
the whole Sati self immolating herself wouldnt have happened had she not been emotional by nature, same with Parvati-she wouldn't have had such an attachment to Ganpati Ji had she not been emotional...out Devtas are emotional yet they are strong and have a very strong moral sense of right and wrong!
so i think showing God to be emotional isnt wrong..but yes..showing them against to how they were supposed to be against thier character or thier nature...Im against that...

We are a bit taken aback by the way the story is portrayed; BUT WE STILL WATCH and we do that because the actors are doing a great job; the creatives are taking licence for those who know the myths well but when do writers and creative artists not take creative licence. As long as the divinity is not reduced and the story develops with strength of character and there is the leelas of Shivji, and importantly THE PHILOSOPHICAL CONVERSATIONS between Sati/Shakti ma and Shivji, it is fine I suppose. We would not watch if the show was completely baseless and poorly taken.
I was initially taken aback by the swayamvar, then saw it a as a positive, that's it.

I too have seen or heard or read many versions of the Shiv-Sati meeting. I love the Shiv puran best which does not have this swayamvar and in which Daksh is really very different. But I too heard many times from my dadi how Sati was in swayamvar and she prayed in her soul to Shivji. When he appeared before her in the sky she throws the mala up into the air and it garlands around his neck. My dadi told this as a Devi story - my family actually prayed much more to Ramji than anyone, but we also did Shiv puja and told many stories of him.. I don't know where my dadi learned her stories. I like the Shiv Puran version more but when i was young i thought it would be nice to see Sati throw the mala upwards and Shiv just to appear there!

I don't really mind that CV's take certain freedoms with story as it is nice if people are really hooked and more and more young people come to love the stories. Sometimes i feel like if our Dadi story times disappear then who will keep these important stories alive - so I love that they are making mythos for TV so everyone can keep these beautiful stories in their heart.

Anyway, I hope everyone will enjoy!

without hurting anyones sentiments i would like to just ask a question...what made certain entities godlike or god?? it was through their actions and deeds that they came to be revered as god...and why cant we accept that these very great entities that we worship today were many eons a ago humans who had done such great deeds for mankind that they became god. why is it so hard for us to accept human emotions in god?? if we believe that god created the universe...then we need to believe that these emotions and feelings of love was introduced to mankind by god himself...so whats so insulting or degrading if pure love is being depicted between shiv and sati...after watching the show atleast i believe that the very concept of love started with shiv and sati...again..this is entirely my opinion...n i dont wanna hurt anybody sentiments...
