Much away from the hustle-bustle of the town lay a huge open ground, which was covered with lush green grass and whose periphery was surrounded by towering mountains. In the middle of the meadow lay huge shed enough to encompass their family. In the center of the shed, his lifeless body was laying down on the stack of wooden logs. Though the environment around may seem to be pleasant, but the atmosphere wasn't. Even the clouds were lamenting on his early exit. It was raining cats and dogs.
"DADA" she screamed at top of her voice as she fell down on her knees near his death bed of logs. She took his hands in hers and rubbed them, expecting that it would create some heat in the shivering atmosphere bringing him back to life. But alas! He was invited by death herself, from whose abode; no one has been successful in returning till date!
He couldn't see her crying like that. He came near her and placed his hand on her head and caressed her hair. Within no time, she flicked away his hand from her head. He knew she was angry with him. After sometime, again he came near her and placed his hand on her head and started to stroke it. This time, she allowed him to do it. Somewhere at the back of her mind, she knew he was the only one on whom she could trust completely, even more than herself! Seeing that she was allowing him to be near her, he proceeded even closer to her. After a few minutes, he made her stand up as her dada's last rituals had to be done. As she moved back, he hooked his hand around her waist, while she covered her face with her hands. The rituals were soon over.
The log which would set fire was brought. It had the power to heat up the air which made everyone shiver. But no one felt anything! It was the coldest day in everyone's life!
Alas! The logs were but on fire and within no time, the fire gulped him whole! She couldn't see her dada resting on the bed of fire and she turned away her face, hiding it in his embrace. He hugged her tightly. For the first time in his life, he had tears in his eyes. Death wasn't a new concept for him. He had seen many people of his blood die because of this filthy game. Well POLITICS has enough power, that it can build your whole empire within no time and destroy it from its root within no seconds!
The family members left as they weren't able to see their hero, their son burn and turn into ashes. The ladies were first to run away. Though the ladies went, she didn't go as she wasn't able to leave her dada alone. Still she stood in his embrace.
Finally the gents left leaving just 3 people there: him, her and her dada, who was burning to death. After some time, he broke the hug. She wasn't crying anymore as her stock of tears had dried up. He knew that is was of no use waiting there. So he left her and went outside in the rain. All had black umbrellas over their heads, but he didn't have. He preferred getting wet. He thought that would help washout his sins. He suddenly stopped as he felt her strong gaze over him. He turned around only to find her standing like a mannequin looking at him with empty eyes. His white kurti was drenched with water making it transparent. He came near the shed and extended his hand for her to hold. Without thinking she ran towards him. As soon as she was out of the shed, she was completely wet and her white anarkali suit was transparent sticking to her skin. She came and hugged him and once again cried.
It was the first rain of the year. Both knew tough times were waiting for them with open hands. It was not going to be easy ahead! And to face every challenge, it was necessary for both of them to stand together. Both found peace in each others arms.
