Komal- "Brijraj, will we get our daughter back? Or have we lost her again? I somehow managed to survive the previous 16 years without her, how am I going to survive the rest of my life without her? She's my daughter Brijraj, please bring her back!"
Komal kept on repeating these words, and all Brijraj did was give her false hopes, because even he was unsure whether they'll see their eldest daughter again.
"You should've considered that before, Mahrani Komal", DS spoke as she came into the living room.
Her voice feeble, yet it still held power and might, that could shun anyone.
Everyone looked up, shocked to see DS but also happy at the same time. They stood up to greet her but DS was in no mood to be greeted by a bunch of people who mentally abused her innocent grand-daughter.
"Maa-Sahib!" Brijraj exclaimed in excitement, as he was glad to see his mother in her senses and on her legs after such a long time. But DS didn't let him approach her, she was angry and disappointed with what had become of her family, though they lived under one roof, they lost the bond between each other that could bind them as a family. This was not what DS had wanted, and she thanked God for giving her life a second chance, at least before she finally rests she could solve these family issues.
Jaynandini, felt at ease, she knew she was the sole reason behind DS's coma, the only reason why her DS was unable to walk, talk, think, eat or drink... and now seeing DS back in health, she felt like a huge burden off her back, after all who would like to live with the thought of being the murderer of their own grand-mother.
In the meanwhile, Uday drove the car as fast as he could, he smiled all the way through, and he had not given out a genuine smile ever since 2 years. But now that his happiness aka Manyata was sat right next to him, he was the happiest man. Manyata kept glancing at Uday every now and then, she studied him, his face, his expressions, his features ... and she noticed he was happy, but was this real or was it her dream? Was she dreaming all this? Such things have happened so many times to her, but only in her dreams, and if this was a dream, she would love to sleep forever. Because all this was too good to be true, too good.
Uday knew what was on her mind; he knew she was in a dilemma of whether the present is true or is it all a dream. Though the both of them didn't speak a single word throughout the drive, but they still knew what was on in each other's minds. This is the essence of true love that will always remain regardless of you ignoring it, regardless of you hating it, regardless of you being with someone else, it will always remain even after two whole years... of regret, anger, turmoil, guilt, silence... it will remain, and you can't run away from it!
Uday pinched Manyata, and she winced in pain "Ouch!" she gave him a questioning look. "Don't look at me like that princess, that for you was a reality check, to tell you that all this is not a dream but the pretty truth of our lives." Uday said, winking and forming a smirk. Manyata replies "Halkat Veday, I get the point but next time, make your reality check's a little less painful!" she replied back giving him a smile. "I missed you calling me Halkat Veda, I can't believe I wasted two years of my life just like that, I'm sorry Manyata, we were all too harsh on you" Uday replied, as the smile on his faded, as old memories began to surface. Manyata ignored what Uday said, she swallowed hard, and turned around facing the window, looking at the lively city outside. "Look at the lights of this city, they illuminate it even in the darkness of the night, our love is like the lights, illuminating our lives even in the darkness, we had our pains, we had our regrets, we had our distances, but the only thing that kept us going was our love for each other, and sometimes distances prove to bring us closer" Manyata said. Uday looked at her, she was hiding her face by looking the other side, but he could see her reflection in the window, he could see tears invading her eyes. But he chose not to say anything; he wanted to give her some space to recover.
Jaynandini went to greet her DS, DS stopped her by raising her hands in the air, "Don't put up this false pretence Jaynandini, I've seen a lot of this lately, I would not like to disclose your truth before all, and you better not get me started, but it'll be nice to see you having a think over your deeds, remember Jaynandini, a person only gets in life what they deserve, look at the ring in your left hand, though you're wearing it, you should know that there's a difference between the money you earn and the money you steal!" Though DS's words were very secretive, they were very well understood by Jay.
Jay looked at the sapphire ring in her hand, it glistened... it was elegant, beautiful, and fitted her finger perfectly, she had a flashback of when Uday put on the ring in her finger, it was the best moment of her life, but then she had a recall of the words he said to her before the engagement. "Congratz Jay today is your big day, the day you've been waiting for, Congratz." So even Uday wasn't happy with her engagement to him, he said "your big day" but wasn't it his big day to? Oh wait, he did say he was only getting married to her for Devgadh and Jaigadh. And here she was thinking he loved her.
This made Jay storm out of the living room in tears. She was about to go to her room when she saw Manyata's room in the way, the door was left a little open, it was like something in the room was attracting her towards it, and she knew she should follow her instincts.
Jay entered the room, and as she did... she saw Manyata sitting in the corner, crying, writing in that diary of hers. "Jiji" was all that slipped from her tongue. Manyata looked up, with tears in her eyes, her eyes swollen from all the crying. Jay looked at the state her sister was in, and for the first time she felt her stone heart, melt... she felt tears come out of her eyes, the warmth of them tracing down her face, she lifted her hands to feel them, she then looked at her fingers that had her tears...
"Crying is painful isn't it Jay? Imagine crying every day, every night for two whole years" said Manyata as she looked straight into Jay's eyes. Jay just stood there quiet.
"Nice ring Jay!" Manyata said with a sarcastic tone to it. Jay immediately looked at her ring.
Manyata took quick steps towards Jay and took hold of her hands and harshly took the ring off of Jay's finger. "Ouch! Manyata Jiji, what are you doing? This is my engagement ring" ...
Manyata looked at the ring in her palms, and then showed it to Jay, "So tell me Jay, what it feels like to have someone snatch from you something that is very close to your heart? Something that only you have rights on? Tell me Jay! Don't stand still like a statue and speak up God Dammit!"
Jay just looked to the ground unable to face the situation; Manyata's words were poisoning her...
Manyata took a step closer, held her hand out to her sister, with the ring in it...
"There you go Jay, take it... This is yours to keep, because I can't snatch someone's happiness from them unlike you" ... She said handing Jay the ring back.
Jay took the ring back and slipped it back into her finger, her tears were flowing like there's no tomorrow, Manyata's words were haunting her and she was scared she might drown in the pool of her own tears.
"Look around the room Jay, what do you see?" Asks Manyata.
Jay looks around the room, "N-n-othing special Jiji".
"Yes! That's exactly what I thought you'd say, because YOU never see anything special in others" ... Manyata replied with a sarcastic smile.
"Let me tell you what I see... I see darkness, loneliness, silence... I see helplessness, pain, guilt and torture, I see me sitting on the bed, staring into space, and crying, I see me sitting in a corner with my head into my knees and pouring my heart out, I see me having nightmares, I see me longing for some attention, I see me caged in these four walls like a prisoner, all I see is ME! Not because I'm selfish, but because Me is the only thing you left me with, you stole my family, my love, you stole my joy, my peace, you stole my happiness, my freedom, you stole the bubbly chirpy Manyata, and left the lonely ME!"
"You are a criminal Jay! A criminal! A girl who can kill anyone, for her selfish purpose, a girl who could cross all limits to achieve what she wants, a girl who would slay her kin to gain her pleasures, You are SELFISH SELFISH, A MURDERER, A CRIMINAL, A THEIF, YOU HAVE NO SELF-RESPECT, YOU HAVE NOTHING BUT YOUR EGO!!!!!!" Manyata screamed loud...
Jay covered her ears with her hands, she could take no more, the guilt was killing her, she closed her eyes and screamed ... "STOP IT, Stop it, Please be quiet, enough!!"...
At once the room was silent, it was quiet, Jay heard the silence and as she opened her eyes she was shocked to see no one there...
"Jiji, Jiji" ... she wondered where Manyata was as she looked around. Only to realise there was no one in the room all along, as realisation struck her that Manyata has left, she's gone!
She collapsed to the floor on her knees, crying!
"What have you done Jay? How can you do this? How can I do this to Manyata jiji, how can I do this to Uday? It's all because of me Uday started hating Manyata, it's all because of me Manyata jiji was isolated, I made my family go against Manyata, I'm the reason today jiji has left! How can I let my anger get the worst of me? How can I stoop so low? Why have I done all this?" she cried.
"DS is right, I deserve this, I deserve crying, I deserve being sunk into my guilt, I deserve not being happy, I deserve being always on the chase, I deserve being hated ... but what I don't deserve is a sister like Manyata, a lover like Uday, I don't deserve this ring, I don't deserve being a princess, I don't deserve being a daughter to this family, I should die!" She broke down further into tears.
Uday and Manyata reached the penthouse, they decided to slip in from the back entrance of the hotel, to avoid any media or public encounters.
Once they made it to the penthouse, Manyata looked around like it was her first time here, when in fact it wasn't.
"What are you looking at princess?" asked Uday.
"Is this where you brought all your girlfriends Uday?" asked Manyata.
Uday sensing the tension in the atmosphere... decided to mellow it down a little.
"Yeah, before I met you though" said Uday with a smile.
"I meant in the past 2 years" asked Manyata.
Uday felt the pain in Manyata's words... But he didn't want to get all serious ... he wanted the atmosphere to liven up.
"No, how could I? When for the fact I knew there was someone known as Manyata, who loved me more than any of those girls will ever do" replied Uday in a naughty tone.
Manyata finally easing up. Put her hands on her hips, and pointing a finger at him.
"Who said I love you? I don't love you" said Manyata in a childish manner.
"Oh really, says the girl who has me all over her secret cupboard" Uday said smirking, walking up to her.
Manyata knew she had been caught, she was embarrassed and grew crimson around the cheeks.
"Fine, leave that... let's play a game, shall we?" ... Said Uday. "Sure" replied Manyata in excitement. "Would you like to play Ludo?" ... "Oh my god, YES!" Manyata replied over-excited because she loved that game. Forgetting all their worried the duo set up a Ludo game.
"Watch how you're going to lose princess" Said Uday rolling the dice. "Oii, don't under estimate me, in Chawl I was known as the Ludo queen, haan nahi to" Manyata replied waiting her turn. "Yeah, but I have always been known as the Ludo King, and the king is far superior to the queen" Uday replied passing the dice to Manyata. "Oh we shall see, is the bet on?" Manyata said challenging him. "Oh it's on!" Uday said accepting the challenge. "But what happens if I win?" asked Manyata. "Hmm. I'll do 160 sit-ups for you!" said Uday replying. "Done deal" replied Manyata excited. "But what happens if I win?" asked Uday ... "I don't know you tell" asked Manyata hoping it wasn't something hard. Suddenly Uday's face brightened, and a naught smirk formed on his lips, Manyata didn't like where this was going.
"You'll have to kiss me, not just anywhere but on the lips" ... Manyata frowned in anger, ready to protest, but being over-confidently sure that she's about to win, she accepted saying that she knows she won't lose, but Uday had a plan in hand!
After a few turns it was obvious that Uday was about to win, Manyata kept on exclaiming that he's cheating, but this didn't halt Uday from achieving the victory. And finally when he won. Manyata swallowed hard ... and was about to run away, only to be held back by Uday ... because they were playing on the bed ... his pull on her arms, made her land on the bed right next to him, but she swiftly got up again and stood up.
"Oh don't tell me Yuvrani Manyata is not up to the challenge?" said Uday as he stood up from the bed.
"Look Uday this is not fair, you know you cheated" said Manyata as butterflies formed in her stomach.
"Oh come one princess, stop acting like you've never shared a kiss before, remember what happened earlier a few hours ago?" he asked smirking and taking further steps towards her.
Manyata's head went back into the flashback of the evens earlier, and she blushed ... didn't even notice when Uday was only a foot apart from her.
She knew there was no point in arguing as this guy is going to get what he wants, so she took steps forward, and shyly went on her toes to meet his face, they were now only a few centimetres apart, he smiled looking at how timid she was. She then slowly placed a kiss on his lips and retorted, blushing and moving back quick, and she was about to turn away, only to be held by Uday, who twirled her back into his embrace.
"Who do you think you are running away from me? Your husband" said Uday...
Manyata looked him in his eyes, "Let me go Uday, please" ... "Not today princess, not today" ... He leaned down, he could feel her heart running a marathon, he could feel the warmth coming from her body, he was loving the effect her was having on her, he was enjoying, by now she closed his eyes, they were only a hair's breadth apart. He decided to tease her a little, he kissed her on the edge of her lips, then on the top of them, then her chin, he could feel her lips quiver for attention from his lips, but he decided to tease her more, his hands moving up and down her back, sending shivers down her spine ... he decided to lean down a little and leave a trail of kisses down the nape of her neck, he was in pure bliss, he could feel Manyata's breathing get heavier and her chest heaving harder against his ... he was loving the effect her was having on her by all this teasing. "Please Uday" she whispered ... "Okay princess, I won't tease you anymore" he replied in a husky voice. He took his face back up to meet hers, and placed a soft kiss on her lips, and after a few more soft kisses on the lips, Manyata could take it no more... she took her arms around his neck, and pulled him towards her, he now knew his princess wanted more, boy did he love this ... but she still didn't let him get into her mouth, so he bit her lower lip, she winced in pain and her got his entrance, he then explored the inside of her, and loved how sweet she tasted. There passionate kiss was at its climax, with the duo getting hasty and impatient. But Manyata finally decided to push him off ... and he knew she didn't want to go ahead, he knew she wanted a proper marriage with her family's acceptance, and then to advance in their relationship, he pulled Manyata in for a hug, both of them quiet, rethinking over what just happened between them, Uday never felt this way before, sure he shared many intimate moments with other women, many women... but never had he felt the purity, the pleasure in a kiss. Manyata really was the girl for him!
To be continued...
