[CHP 4]
Uday. woke up the next morning to find his wife had already beat him to it. 'There goes the breakfast in bed idea' he thought to himself. As he got out of bed he started to wonder exactly what it would take to bring a smile to Manya.'s face, he knew one thing for sure though ...it would not be easy.
Manya. on the the other hand was already seated at the breakfast table and discussing the evening's plans with Unnati.
" I'm serious, Unnati. I want to look..." Manya.'s voice trailed away as she searched for words.
" You will look fabulous enough to knock everybody's socks off..don't you worry" Unnati replied.
Manya.'s vengeful, feminine side had stayed up late last night, concocting a brilliant plan. She figured that if she was suffering than her better half should probably feel the brunt of it too. So is she felt inadequate or jealous than she'd make damn sure that His Royal Highness Prince Uday. went quietly out of his mind too. Hell hath no fury and all, Manya. said to herself to not feel guilty.
Meanwhile the victim of her future plans walked into the room and immediately broke into a grin as he saw his wife and his sister sitting close together conspiring like two school girls.
"Ahem. ...kuch plan kia ja raha hai?" Uday. asked to let them know they were being observed.
Manya. and Unnati jumped a little, enough to make him realize that there was something at work here. They really were planning something.
"Nothing at all dada, we're just going to go out after breakfast...you know shopping for the evening gala today." Unnati replied having recovered quicker than Manya.
" Really?" Uday. asked as he took a seat beside Manya.
"Yes really, there's nothing wrong with what were about to do" Manya. replied flustered. She had a feeling that Uday. didn't believe a word they had said.
" I'll take your word on it Princess." He said smirking..'oh she's definitely up-to something' he said to himself.
" Dada, don't you remember that talk we had last night ..you know about grovelling?" Unnati said
Uday. suddenly remembered that he was not supposed to antagonize his wife...rather make it up to her. He nodded as if to say thanks for reminding me. His playful mood suddenly took a nose-dive as he remembered the mammoth the task of making Manya. happy ..with him again that is.
Manya. noted how Unnati's comment sobered Uday. up. 'What was that about?' she asked herself. Despite herself, she asked "Uday. are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah , I'm fine...Uhhh...if you ladies will excuse me ..I have some work pending " He said as the got up to leave. I'm going to need a lot of help he said to himself as he went off to think of ways to 'grovel' as his sister put it.
"This is perfect" Unnati said as looked at her sister-in-law.
" You think this knock-off-socks material?" Manya. asked
Unnati turned her around to make her face the full-length mirror as said "Bilkul"
Manya. looked at herself in the mirror and almost gasped. The dress really was perfect. She barely believed that she could look soo... so beautiful.
Manya. turned around and hugged Unnati.
"You are the best sister ever" Manya said
"Why thank you" Unnati replied laughing.
"So now what ?"
"Now you take the dress off , we get it packed and head to the parlor and then dada is in for a surprise" Unnati replied rubbing his hands together.
Sorry for the short and late update. Things are a little hectic right now. However fear not as I will soon update and the chapter shall be a long and happy one. Till then please accept my abject apologies and try and hang in there :)
