You and I, I and you seem to be two pillars apart yet bond together; weaken by a storm, trapped in isolation and barren by expectation.

Standing here two feet apart from you yet a distance of one placed between, so close that I could feel your soul yet distant enough to fade away. Years of distance have weakened the ground of truth, conceit and hate breeds within. Seek within and you will find emptiness, seek darker and you find memories. Memories of a lost princess that no longer exists, let her stay safe within my memories, for now tears drain from her eyes, her smiles weakens. Surrounded by foes, pushed by expectation and punished by I. The closer you get the farther distant I become, the soil of lies strengthens.

A storm swirls within you, the more I try to understand the farther I drift apart. Built with a hard exterior you make it impossible to realize what lies beneath the surface. Each time I manage to get a crack across the exterior beyond hardens. What is it that you hide beneath that smirk/smile? Standing here two feet apart yet a distance of three placed between. Standing here as a storm passes by let me strengthen the ground you stand on let me turn to dust while you rise on.

You and I, I and you so alike, we conceal everything with a smile; no one knows the longing that dwells within.
