Offff time outs and my nieces...was some eternal relationship..😆😆 was always concerned...

Does time out as a punishment for kids work more then raw wacking to make a point clear? Kids get used to timeouts ...he he he they used to have a scoochee game for timeouts...and used to actually enjoy it 😆 after all cha cha kon hai 😆😆 whenever I used to say let me straighten them with some..😉 I was given timeout...😆... Good the musibat gang is back to India atleast someone will bring some sense to them (miss them soo much)...by the way my question was

To mentor kids does time out stratergy works ? OR Dhishum Dhishum works ? OR talking to them in a room and explaining works? for any nortorious deed....

so true 😆, that reminds me, my niece, timed out in bathroom, worried about her, i peeped in to see, she plays with all things possible, filled the tub, aur sauna chal raha hai andar..😆

😆 after all cha cha kon hai 😆😆 whenever I used to say let me straighten them with some..😉 I was given timeout...😆...

😆😆,i dont understand why some parents dont encourage "allow me".

my sis, never lets me train her son, hum ne bhi khoob badla liya, made extra shareer animal out of him😆

Ye time-out kis chidiya ka naam hai??? 😆 Never need to do it - a long hard stare usually does it in my case - my brothers have nicknamed me dayan aunty 😆 The most important thing is to check the kid the first time he/she does something wrong, and keep checking till they start checking you for doing the same. If a kid is being stubborn or throwing a tantrum, I usually try to divert his/her attention. Now this is a knack that everyone doesn't have, but it's worth a try. I usually do my magic bag trick. They have to guess what will come out of my bag (guys won't be able to carry this one out 😉 )Works every time 😛

tumhare saath kya try kiya jaaye???😆

Looks like everyone is missing my belan 😆

I would hate to hit a child, but sometimes it becomes necessary. However, spanking should be the last resort. Like my grandma use to say "ghooro, samjhao, daanto, maaro" 😛

hey, thats a nice grandma sequence, tfs.😃

i too don't like to hit them, least i do for girls- pull cheeks and make them red, for boys- twist ears and make them also red....

most of the time that is also missed, they run before i can get hold anything of those tiny beings...

haan bhai belan ko ab le hi aao, khana hazam nahee horahaa.😃

raj, kyoon hum sey hee humein hee sudhaarney key nuskhey poochh rahey ho 😛 tumhey wakai lagta hai hum tumhey batayengey ki tum humein "time-out" doh ya phir spanking to keep us from spamming 😆

bahnee aur rocksy tumharey jaal mein kaisey phans gayeen pata naheen per main naheen phansney wali 😈 😆

okie, jokes apart...one shd decide based on the kid's personality. diff things work for diff. kids. spanking shd be the absoloute last resort for real grave issues....imo. try taking away the t.v. time, after dinner dessert, or a favorite toy away for a day...usually works pretty good. as long as one is consistent in disciplining and chooses the issues wisely, i don't see any problem. also keep in mind kids will be kids will be kids. now, adults cqn't be getting upset coz they r talking too much or laughing too hard. keep them busy with constructive and fun activities and they will not get any time to get in any serious trouble....generally speaking 😊

Yes Hitting last resort, but different things work for different Kids,

I used to watch that Supernanny things and time out NEVER worked on these kid.

Parents fault for agreeing to the demands of the kids early on. Disciple must be consistent. Spoilt kids, i swear will never change and throw temper tantrums anyways.😳

Odd little hit on the back wouldnt hurt, lol...

Kids know what they can get away with and will exploit that.

If early on kids ae disciplined then its fine but time out wont work all the time 😳 nor is it effective.

Tme out never worked for rebel like me,. 😉 well nor did anything, 😆

I like the ieaon the programme of rewards and Punishment system...Like Sticker Chart...provides incentives/bribery 😆 an take awaythings if they are bad.

Yes smacking by law isnt alowed in some places - but how can an adult know the difference between a light smack and somthing more hurtful..You will always find other kids on the schoool playgroud that is hitting another kid, and a good talking to them...will that reallly make a dfference to some kids..I think NOT and yes i have evidence for this to back this up. 😉

United front (Both parents) and reinforcing same descipline works wonders. Drawing boundries from beginning is other good thing. Timeout has never helped and spanking should be the last resort. At times spanking has reverse effect IMHO.

Everyone has given great input on this one.

Anshu good fun topic.

that i think is key. i mean certain things should be predictable with certainty even at 5. like what would happen later if u keep diving into the snack-items before the guest coud get her hand on even one. i mean one has to know that avoiding mommy's eyes will not help. u're going for a walk later😉😆
