Regional and communal cards have been played by politicians and their likes for years for power. Now TV channels are bringing these issues back up in limelight for popularity.

so your claim is this was never in the minds of the junta, this is all politicians, Are you seriously saying the current outburst on the show was orchestrated by a political party😆

People need to grow up and realize reality shows are not talent hunts. The public has no measure of talent. It is merely a platform for the public to pick who they like. The vote is never for talented, but for cutest, most popular, best attitude, hottest, etc.

theory theory😆

And yeah people vote for their region. In international sports we root for India, in National sports we root for our state, our district. We root for our school in interschool competition. Stop seeing it as a malicious divisive factor. It is more of a personal identity factor. Religion is also a non factor.

The problem with Indians or rather people in general is that if a person belonging to majority population has things not go their way it is tough luck and there is a reason but if they are from a minority it has to be discrimination. What everyone needs is a massive cup of STFU, shut up and enjoy the entertainment.

massive self contradiction going on here😆

Somehow you seem to apply the whole international norm to a inter-national issue, there is a huge difference there, the tricky part of being a part of the nation 😆

you some how are implying Zee put those words in someone's mouths, if you have roamed around India enough, you know that feeling is there for sure and in a significant amount of population. If we take what you are saying, we should just shove this under the rug and everytime there is some outburst that feeling will return(like yesterday) and we will just throw some carrots at people to calm them down.

FYI, Time is not a healer here on this issue, this is second third generation we are dealing with. So even though everyone STFU about this, this is not getting resolved, then what we will just keep blaming someone for this happening?

Zee had the regional issue 3-4 years ago, you do get to see a image of that in reality in Mumbai, yeah let us tell Raj Thackeray to STFU😉, tommorow he is bound to harp on that and that feeling will get him some seats in the parliament and that is real population speaking, you cannot silence them.

There is a precedent to this, Everyone ignored Bal Thackeray just like this 30-40 years ago and that converted into a solid vote bank for him. Yes his vote bank has an issue and he speaks about them(whether he does anything for them or not is another issue), rest of the country wants to shove it under the rug(so they just want to laugh it away everytime Thackeray name comes up, but he/they will retain that vote-bank no matter what, till the time someone addresses the base issue and in the meanwhile more and more people will join that issue😉

how long are we going to postpone these issues? eventually some outsider is going to come and take an advantage of it

First step to a problem resolution is acknowledgement that there is a problem and here we seem to be in a heavy denial that something is even wrong😆

You have completely misinterpreted my post!

I am not saying that people are completely bias free. There will always be a bias in people's minds. Most people overcome their biases. Unfortunately, politicians have always played on this bias and made it into something ugly and violent.

[LOTF Reference from my previous post: The children were completely innocent children. They had no divisive factors or negative thoughts. Yet in their naivety they had the fear of the unknown (different from us) manifested in the beast (that did not exist). The beast had to be killed. This was exploited by Jack to turn everyone to savages and lead the children in a vicious manhunt.]

The entertainment channels are cashing in on this divisive factor. When given the opportunity they will exploit the created differences for publicity and TRP. Hot button issues make for great ratings.

I stick by the fact that people do not vote for talent. Reality shows are based on extremely irrational and fickle voting. Not malicious but irrational. There is a huge difference. Being from Mumbai if I were in India would vote for someone from Mumbai. Not because I am biased against any other part of India or dislike them. It's like Brutus saying "Not that I loved Ceasar less, but that I loved Rome more". We need to stop people of hating others, when they simply love differently. Acting out of hate is different.

As for the Thackereys they are politicians - the kind that make innocent children into savages. They do not need just a STFU, they make me feel that public execution needs to return. But we are not talking of real world politics.

The point is that taking reality shows seriously is ridiculous. Twelve year olds brats who can type 60 wpm on a phone but cannot multiply cannot be counted. Reality TV is for entertainment - they are no reflection of reality. Nor do they reflect any logic. Pure fluff television and the channels know it. They just want you to think they bring forth 'issues' and 'information' to guise the fact that they are part of the brain numbing idiot box parade.

I am not saying that biases, divisive factors should be ignored and people should STFU about that. The problem with people is that someone gets eliminated in a reality show on TV gets more coverage than someone who might get executed. I would have no qualms about a legitimate issue from a legitimate real life event getting coverage and consideration.

I guess where we really separate is I do not give credit to television and its reality shows to mean anything at all.

i am not sure they tried to explicitly frame this debate. like almost everyone else i can think of, they are just incompetent to keep it from getting framed nevertheless.

or you would prefer to have it done by someone else?

on matters that relate to one's own country, i think any idiot has the right to frame whatever they want. i mean if we can give any idiot the license to drive, what's wrong with some debate?

but i find it very corny when people talk stuff like "music knows no boundaries" and the channel thinks they are doing something good there. more often than not, the buffoons will just end up bungling what might have started out with good intentions. i'd rather leave cross-border music bai-bhai stuff to our national leaders. they might be crooked and corrupt, but i still want to believe they have our national interests at heart vis-a-vis others.

i find the "music knows no boundaries" stuff corny too because i believe it is the hypocritical oath taken by so-called music lovers. rarely met people who vote for "pure talent" though they do talk a fine music. show me a name and i'll tell u how they'll vote. most every time.😉

or you dont even agree those issues exist😉

of course they exist. the smallest atomic unit is the family. beyond that, we start progressively making larger them-versus-us personal identity distinctions. and like any mkting guy wld know, there are different ways to divvy up and segment the market.
