It depends what your age is Vinu. To me old age is always fifteen years older than I am.
There are 2 kinds of people in this world . Those under forty and those over 40 and fabulous. 😛 At 40 you're old enough to know better, but young enough to still get in trouble.
After 40 you realise there are 2 myths in life - Life begins at 40 and 40 year old virgin. 😆 If life begins at 40 then you were dead for 39 years. By the age of 40 we can clearly see the pattern we ourselves have constructed. We are probably the happiest and content at 40. We are proud of all that we have achieved.
If you reach the age of 40, it means you've managed to avoid a great many pitfalls. You've managed to not die in a foolish car crash, haven't gotten knifed or shot in a street brawl , killed in combat, burned yourself to death playing with matches or fireworks, or succumbed to the many other ways younger people manage to kill themselves or get killed by others. You are still at risk for some of these things, but as an older and wiser person, you are at a significantly reduced risk.
You've probably had your heart broken more then once and are wiser in the ways of love. You realize that you can't change a person, and you must love them as they are.
You are respected in your position, and usually have earned it, no matter how clueless your kids think you are. You are old enough to know your business, and young enough to still be enthusiastic about it .
You have probably reached the point where you are financially able to pursue your dreams of travel and adventure, and if you have taken care of yourself, you are still healthy enough to catch some of them. You have a circle of friends with deep roots, people you've known for decades, The kind of friend that you can talk to all day, or communicate with by not saying a word. The kind of friend that you may only see a once or twice a year , but is closer to you than anyone you see everyday. And the best thing is if your in-laws are still around , they are too old to bother you. 😉We'll never be 25 years old again, but thanks to a little maintenance and lucky genes, you can still say I'm in my 40's and I look damned good. We all can change the circumstances of our lives for the better.
Some of the quotes I found interesting.
"At fifteen I set my heart on learning; at thirty I took my stand; at forty I came to be free from doubts..." Confucius.
"At the age of 20, we don't care what the world thinks of us; 30, we worry about what it is thinking of us; at 40, we discover that it wasn't thinking of us at all."
"The best years of a woman's life - the ten years between 39 and 40"
"What most persons consider as virtue, after the age of 40 is simply a loss of energy."
"Forty is the old age of youth; fifty is the youth of old age."
"Medicines do not have warning labels for over 40 as they do for under 12 years of age."
Very well said along with Ashu/DB, great views guys!! 👏
