😆, but not always true - wife burns food, beat her up or in some cases, divorce her. Could be the other way round, too. 😉

it depends on the frame of mind/ intenstion of the person at the recieving end as well as that of the person using the words...

Now wouldnt this count as a racial slur despite the use of most polite words?

.......

if😛

Dear White fella............ Coupl a things you should know.....

When I born, I Black,

When I grow up, I Black,

When I go in Sun, I Black,

When I scared, I Black,

When I sick, I Black,

And when I die, I still black.......

And you White fella,

When you born, you Pink,
When you grow up, you White,
When you go in Sun, you Red,
When you cold, you Blue,
When you scared, you Yellaw,
When you sick, you Green,
And when you die, you Gray.................

For me it is pretty simple

If it is offensive, irrespective of the color of their skin you sue someone for using it. A term does not become offensive just b'cos it comes from some particular race

Now Isiah Thomas(in the original article) has an history with this, just like a lot of people of the minority community have, so it was right to sue him(he being a Black man himself)

However it was proved in the jury, that she herself used those terms on other people, so then what gives her a right to sue? A lot of women are proclaiming this is a victory for Sexual abuse cause? Is it really? or is it just a smart women twisting the arm of a successful rich man to get money for something that she too has done in her life?

A lot of people also ridicule the American Justice system, when you step back and look at this, the judgement was

Yes Isiah was found guilty of the charges, but Madison Square Garden(MSG) is supposed to pay for the 11.6m for this, for allowing such a working environment to continue

The judgement is brilliant IMO, the only mistake is, the monies should not be awarded to the woman charging for this, she doesnt deserve a penny out of this

The money should go to a fund that will teach sensitivity on this topic, then it would have been a perfect judgement

As a NY Knicks fan, I hope the commissionar of NBA takes strips Isiah Thomas and James Dolan of their jobs and the Knicks come back from being a laughingstock of a franchise 😉 , but I know Dolan given his previous moves he will grant Issiah another extension, causing more agita in the fandom 😡

😆 😆 😆 ..Qwerts , when wife burns food you call CIA - Culinary Institute to join cooking classes. 😛

You are right about sensibilities - seen in every married woman's reaction when criticised by her own mother vs MIL.

yes 😆

Is the price of using a epithet like that 11.6 million dollars?

no, but lawyers need lot of money apparently!

Do you think it should be ok for person of one community to use a word freely and when someone else uses it, they can be branded as racists?

i don;t thing it is okay, but i guess it is all about when the shoe pinches. I hate (not a strong word at all in this sentence) when my husband calls marathi people "ghati log" 😡. But I often say " ghatigiri kelee mee" and that does not hurt my marathi pride.. 😳 speak of double-standards 😕
