Debate - No one can understand love? its just based on perceptions...

Frankly speaking after so many debates am pretty sure we understands love, still...

1. Love means actions takens for both the parties in providing happiness to counter part even though it causes suffereing to oneself. Love is self evaluating, there is no true love, it self perception ???

2. Doing things that value a relationship is another form of love???

That song from 'Khamoshi' beautifully depicts essence of love as i see it.. and also the over-rated-ness of relationships. Iron ji, tnq for the inspiration and posting the lyrics that touched my heart the most..

hum ne dekhee hai, un aakhon kee mahakatee khushaboo
haath se chhuke ise, rishto kaa iljaam naa do
sirf yehasaas hain ye, ruh se mahasoos karo
pyaar ko pyaar hee rahane do koee naam naa do

pyaar koee bol nahee, pyaar aawaaj naheen
yek khaamoshee hain sunatee hain kahaa karatee hain
n ye buzatee hai, n rukatee hai, n thhaharee hain kahee
noor kee boond hai, sadiyon se bahaa karatee hain

IMHO, love between man and woman is over-rated. Sometimes the one between parents and children also is over-rated. Happiness is over-rated and sacrifice under-rated. Love never ends. True understanding of love will make one selfless and rise above expectations. Expecting reciprocation is a selfish act I think. Any given day, Meera was in LOVE with Krishna and so was Radha.. Meera, suffered, so did Radha, but does it mean Krishna did not love them?

2. Doing things that value a relationship is another form of love???

I did not understand this question. We do certain things to show our love. Sometimes, we back off and stop doing those things to show our love as well. (especially as sisters when our brothers get married, and as moms when our sons do) When relationships put CONSTRAINTS on love, acts need to be evaluated and performed accordingly.

Also, some of my favorite quotes by Kahlil Gibranand Richard Bach.. since I have posted my own thoughts far too many times in the forum 😆. Lets hear something of substance instead.. 😳 hehe..
"Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls."
Kahlil Gibran
"Our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of
direction. When we're two balloons, and together our direction is up
chances are we've found the right person. Our soulmate is the one who makes life come to life"
Richard Bach

"Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence." 😆 - Erich Fromm

To answer your first query - Love does not always entail making sacrifices, but what sacrifices are made in the name of love are usually worthwhile. And I am not talking only about lovers here. Don't we all make sacrifices to make our parents or kids or sibling happy? And doesn't the happiness that they feel usually mitigate the pain that we may have felt while making the sacrifice? So if you are willing to make so much of adjustment for your parents and kids what is the big deal doing the same for your spouse or lover?

And I didn't really understand the second question.

Some gr8 Quote about love:

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things.

Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.

Love rules his kingdom without a sword.

Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.
😃

So keep love and be lovable.........

Love means - to take care anyone is love. If you are human being and you have no sensation, logic, naturality in human relation you are not defending human, not fight for human diginity then you have no love for anyone and actuly you can't love anyone.

Frankly speaking after so many debates am pretty sure we understands love, still... Really?

1. Love means actions takens for both the parties in providing happiness to counter part even though it causes suffereing to oneself. Love is self evaluating, there is no true love, it self perception ??? Don't know why love has to be measured on sacrifice meter.😕 Self destruction can be self love too.

2. Doing things that value a relationship is another form of love??? Self love probably.
