Thank you 😛 But believe me, it wasn't as lovely when my mum was running around the house chasing me to deliver some of them 😕

I think you are totally right. Although no kid likes the wacking from their parents, it is a good idea for it to happen if they misbehave. They will then understand, and maybe even fear, the beating and not commit whatever they did again.
Also, kids should also understand that if their parents beat them, it is not something to hate them for. In fact, they should understand that their parents beat them because they love their kids.

I am all for beating the children, however, there should be some limits. In America, if the parents beat the children, it is not considered child abuse. However, if the child recieves such a hard beating that a cut or any various mark appears on their skin, then it can become a child abuse case. So, keeping that in mind, beating is okay to some extent.

I hope my answer fulfills your question. It is a good topic to talk about. Thanks for bringing it up! 👏

Thank you UD 😊

Yeah my mom did that too when I was young. I was very mischevious and probably deserved some of that whopping. I got it with any object which was available to her 😭 It sure was not lovely at all dear 😳

well i also got my share of "thappars" in my time. 😳 and as a result to this day i think twice before doing anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm all for disciplining kids.....sometimes a little thappar here or there IS needed. but what i've been noticing with my son is that other means of discipline have turned out to work out better.

when he's acting like a fool or bothering my little princess i simply send him to his room or turn the tv off.

and now whenever he speaks to me in a tone that he's not supposed to or does things hes not supposed to he immediately takes back what he says "oh mommy no no, sorry mommmy sorry". 😆

so i've lately turned to displining by taking away his privileges.

Great going MJ. Disciplining and creating boundries definitely works. Kids should also understand consequences.

Your kiddo is smart I tell ya 😆 😆

This is precisely what I was talking about the 'western' way of doing it MJ. Im sure it must be workin as well now that you put it that way.

lol I was flippin through some channels day before yesterday, n I saw this deadly program called Super Nanny! 😛 I have no clue why but I watched the left over half. N This golu molu nanny is apparently supposed to discipline the brats in homes in a matter of days! N bingo, this is what she did as well....rewarding for good behaviour and taking away priviledges for bad behaviour. Must be workin, this thing.....hmmm

yeah i watch the nanny a lot and sometimes follow her techniques. 😆

but the kids on their make my blood boil......spitting on the parents face, swearing, fighting etc etc. and all of the families on there are white.....i wonder if this signifies anything or just a coincidence.

Hmm..makes me wonder too.

The kids out here I think have this free fone number to call up the social authorities, and they can report about their parents smacking them! I've seen our maid's daughter doing that once and the police were at her doorstep in 5 mins! They took our maid into custody and it became a big huge embarassing ordeal for her after that 😳
