For every "problem" one finds with India, there is a reason and today, we are working on them and the day is not far when we can shrug off the tag so easily given, without delving into the reasons. But then, those who give such tags will find something else to harp upon. 😛

very true there is alwys something or the other which people from other countries find fault with they should come and live in india and then make such comments and give tags and presumtions or whtever they call it.

Actually thats true for all of us. I found some of the most daft humans I have ever come across working in the airports in the United States.... When compared to the devils back home, the devils seem like intelligent angels. 😛

And but for presumptuous persons in the world, we wont have such topics of discussions coming up either😆

My belief is - unless you get under the skin of the person who experiences the "issue" one cant really understand the whys and hows of the situation... How many of us can actually get under the skin?? few... so the majority of us can only draw inferences, meanings and make an effort to understand the situation... and which lead to some wonderful discussions in the forums, isnt it😊

I confess, I was almost tempted to say that majority of those who worked in the United States seem daft😆 but feared an avalanche of posts and stemmed the flow of presumptions being drawn 😉

(Hope not contradicting individuality comment I made previous, hope will be understood the point here)

If, however, someone disregards this, well, we have loads of detractors. or rule breakers..

Agreed compare percentages on nation to nation basis,

Well, thats true. Certain bad pennies are found everywhere. I havent come across any comparative study on ratio of good to bad pennies amongst different nationalities.

I was in US recently and I found beggers on the street. I found men high on drugs lying on roadsides. Reminded me of India.....

Nature's call is majboori, but if genuinely explained won't people be considerate. Problem comes when some starting being inconsiderate and taking advantage of this bahana.

Problem is mentality based. In semi filled train evn though every one ensured seats, but people push and rush. Yet if fully filled train and if someone is running to catch there comes a hand of considerate guy on the edge and helps this person to safe standing. 😊

@Bold - Yes.... and at least in Mumbai today, we have seen this difference. What helped was large number of public toilets, and of course, the gradual removal of slums to make way for public homes being constructed for them by the state, which include built in facilities...

While I do agree on the "mentality based" comment, in general, I see the other side of the coin - Habit based behaviour. For fifteen years, if someone had to run to catch a seat in a local train guaranteed to be crowded, difficult to change that habit overnight. Some see it as a test of their poweress, bravado... but with the increase in train timings, with higher number of rakes, and overall improvement, we do see signs of improvement.

I live in hope😛

Can I conclude that opinions are based on personal experiences. Am no big fan of foreign countries.. just trying to say hear yaa... but my opinion based on our country folks abroad. Do you want me to elaborate?

Right! if u always forced ur right of way, then how can one respect others right of way... unless from the begining "being considerate" can be part of habit. Root cause? 😃 ... won't press this more... finally people should respect each other irrespective of circumstance and people who don't will pay for it now or later :) .. don't change oneself.

I live in hope😛 and I hope to live in harmony/happiness/satisfaction... nah not contracting.. agreed hope is everything.😃

@ our folks abroad.... no personal experiences to allow me to develop a independent opinion.. would have to rely only on published materials... so U may be right and would defer to your view..

@personal opinions being formed on experiences - Yes, if there is a personal experience on the subject matter of discussion, then I believe, such experiences do get included or are relied upon to a great extent, while opinion is being formed.

@right of way - two men join an organisation at the same time, standing on the bottomest rung of the ladder. One is more ambitious than other and "exercises" his right of way to push/ shove/ move aside/ side line the other to move up the ladder. Clear disrespect to others right of way 😛 😛 but seen happening many a time, isnt it.

Nah, not apple vs apple here... still.. 1. If both respect each other, and either understand who is deserving and shows his hand after you, then. 2. If one is confident on himself and think eventually he will succeed and lets the pusher to go ahead on purpose, as he cann't stoop to pushing, then hqat worng.3. if both are considerate and yet under thoer goal organisation is gonna benefit as a whole. no?
