Ofcourse it's more important to have people who are there by your side while you're still alive. Once you're dead, how does it even matter? 😕 It's not like you can say, "Ooooh, I'm watching you...and you didnt come to my funeral...oh, you are sooo out of the favorite fives on my cellphone"

how does it even matter? - never mind then😛 😃. Long story to explain😆

I once heard a gentleman - an old family friend - say that the more people you had at your namaz-e-janaaza, the more likely it would be that you went to heaven. I am not sure even now what the basis for this is, but I assumed that if you have been good to many people in your lifetime, you will probably have a lot of people at your funeral, hence the association with paradise.

I would go for those who stand by me while I am alive, but at the same time I would be appreciative of all those who would be there to comfort my family in the event of my death. How I will express this appreciation is completely beyond my comprehension, though. Maybe, I won't roam around their homes singing "gumnaam hai koi, badnam hai koi"... 😆

I would like to have people who care for me next to me while I am alive and would feel blessed same people could be there in my funeral. We associate with all age people so some die before and some after. I don't believe every one who is at funeral was one's friend 7 was there next to dead person. Some just come for social duty-obligation.

I rather know these friends while I am alive than at funeral because I am not going to be around to know who was there are once I am dead.

Yup! That's what I was coming at, even though one does a lot folks that stand for him/her... but at the same time what good deeds have been done for the whole society and community? Good deeds for society/community equates to gathering at funeral, people whom one has never interacted personally, but they are thier to respect and pay last homage.. for the good deeds in lifetime.😳

@ "gumnaam hai koi, badnam hai koi" haunting - 😆

To me, they are not different. This is so difficult for me to answer. I will make my funeral arrangments before dying and include the list of ppl 😛 . Those will involve only those cared for me while I am/was alive.
