Questions to Government

Why was the route of Metro passing 'close' Qutub Minar in New Delhi was abandoned and later reworked fearing prospective damages to this 815 years man made monument?

Why the project of Taj corridor (which would have made lot of dollars to our money minded govt) was put off after the hue and cry of environmentalists as the construction near Taj 'may' cause bad effect on this 359 years old man made monument. Please give attention here that these monuments were not going to be destroyed but were 'feared' to get damaged.

Will any government in China would destroy or even alter The great wall of China(2695 years old) for the sake of any amount of money?

Will any one allow pulling down 4507 years old Pyramids of Egypt in lieu of any uncountable amount of money?

If the answer is NO, then why this 17,25,000 years old man made monument is being destroyed for the sake of some coins?

The Government gives protection to Qutub Minar, Taj Mahal, Haji Ali Durgah but is very keen to demolish the 'Ram-setu' although it is known that its demolition can cause many problems. The Government is going to spend Rs. 2740 crores towards demolition of the 'setu'.

Hmmm, lets see...Because by patronizing to the QM, Taj benefits, the gov. is also fulfilling its hidden agenda of appeasing the minorities..On the other hand,Hindus, are a much broader minded people and can take any kind of attrociousness and in fact they will give a hand in destroying their own homes, for the good of the man kind...🤢

Ram Setu a natural barrier to Tsunami: During the last tsunami, the Ramar Bridge (at a high elevation) from the rest of the shoal accumulations acted as a natural barrier preventing the direct devastation of the entire Bharatam coastline south and southwest of Nagapattanam. - Dr. Murthy, Chief editor of the reputed International Tsunami Journal "Science of Tsunami Hazards"

Threat of Tsunami: Many geologists, earth scientists, and oceanographers have commented critically, against the disastrous consequences of constructing SSCP. Amongst these is the impending devastation of Kerala, which will suck in after implementation of SSCP, after next Tsunami hits it.

Many Naval officials are saying that even after the completion of SSCP, the depth of the canal shall be only 12 meters (about 36 feet ), and only small and medium sized vessels shall be able to pass. Large sized vessels and carriers shall not be able to pass.

I think those who are protesting are unnecessarily putting way too importance on the religious significance.Granted, that is the most emotional point, but the the ecological damage, cost and the security angle are very important factors. As long as only the mythological factor is highlighted there is a very good chance that the govt will just disprove it using the ASI and the other issues will be swept cleverly under the carpet.

I agree with you completely. The religious/mythological argument has little, if any chance, of working at all because of the lack of any evidence that this "bridge" is man-made or that it has any connection with the mythological bridge in the first place. Comparison with other religious or historical monuments is invalid because in those cases there is no doubt that they are man-made or that they have a religious basis. In this case there is none. All that can be said now is that this is a natural formation that people in earlier times, in ignorance of the fact that this is a natural structure, began to relate with the myths floating around. Without more investigation we cannot say anything further. The myth itself has undergone numerous changes overtime. How much of the myth itself is true? We do not know. Even if there was a real bridge constructed as per the Ramayan, it was probably destroyed long ago. 🤔

I said before that people's sentiments, especially religious sentiments, should be taken care of. However, in this case that cannot be done using mythological arguments. Instead the focus should be on the geological and ecological issues as well as financial and security issues. These are practical points, they are grounded in reality and fact. Thus they have a much better chance of working to prevent this projection. The end result would be that both the religious and non-religious issues would be at rest. 😊

Totally agree with it. But donot agree to win this battle putting aside of religious reason. As long as the bridge is not a threat to any man kind, then why should it be touched? yes it is more harmful to damage it for ecology reason, but why should we consider that as our major protest. It has sentiments of our belief. How can peopel living on the land of Sanatan dhrama forgot that Ram Navami, Navratri, Dusherra and Deepawali all these major holidays are celebrated through out of India.

Can Bush ask US people to stop celebrating Christmas as there is no real Santa claus?????? Yes there is Saint Niclolas but who is remembered on Christmas?? Will people protest saying it is good for environment as people are happily celebrating, cleaning house and surrounding are or will thay protest saying it boosts economy as peopel buy like crazy?????

or will they protest on base of their belief.

We Hindus always open doors for too many Ifs. I myself strongly oppose it due to my religious belief. Our Lord build it to fight over evil and is sacred to us. Period😛

Yes, if they are bringing no value (much cultural heritage) and can be tuned in busines proposition benefiting current human race, then why not, preserving and maintaining them itself is a over-head.
